Maybe they'd be hard to put on? After all, as much of an unnatural movement range (for a horse) as the ponies have with their front legs, they can't exactly put their back legs straight up.

But then putting on things like goggles should be near impossible without magic. But eh, technically all of it could be put on with magic so putting on pants shouldn't be too hard.

There's also the question of tails. Pants present several...logistical problems with that.
On ponies = candy: If sweets are the bread and butter of a pony diet, then what makes up desserts? Fruits and veggies?

Lyra says otherwise.
Also, ponies are made out of marshmellows and pudding. :smalltongue:

Well, Dash does goggles in the Parasprite episode.
Also, ponies = candy is cute, but it isn't coming within a mile of my fanon.
Not a knock on your great picture, Inkwell. Not at all.

You dare question the scientastic findings of THE GREAT AND POWERFUL TRIXIE?!
edit- and why is sweetie_abuse a thing, they always have Rarity do some sort of immense psychological horror to her. It's like scootabuse on roids.

If it's Thread Trixie, I'd put it more nicely.
Show Trixie? Frig yeah I question them. I have her K-12 permanent record right here. (drops a huge file folder) It's 12 years of "needs improvement," "spends more time working minor cantrips than doing homework," "doesn't work well with others," "refuses to acknowledge the scientific method, preferring to just make bald declarations and then mocking those who disagree" and perhaps most damning of all, "Keeps eating her neighbor's glue."
She never even graduated! She doesn't even have a GED!

"MISS TRIXIE! Are you daydreaming again?"
"The Great and Powerful Trixie was just thinking."
"Pay attention, we're going over how to identify and placate celestial bears."
"This hardly seems relevant to The Great and Powerful Trixie" *zones out*

Nice work, Esper. I didn't know you were involved in it; I should have known, since it said Midnight, but I never made the connection, it being posted right as I went to sleep.

There is the one tennis pony with the stache in Call of the Cutie. He was wearing shorts.
As for the rest of the conversation, my opinion is naked=casual clothes and anything else is function, fashion, or occaision.
Also, yes, there most certainly is a royal harem. No, you are not invited to see.

Celestia has had her eyes on Guardopolis for years, but has always been afraid to make the first move, since she thinks he might be scared off by her. So she's been playing the long game.
Then she finds out that he's been carrying on with Luna since about a month after she came back. She asks around and finds that he'd apparently been aware of her interest in him, but had found her unapproachable (like, via a palace spy/gossip).
How does Celestia deal with the fact that he found SOMEPONY WHO TURNED INTO FREAKING NIGHTMARE MOON more approachable?
Like another poster said, I can totally see this going Greek myth-style. Celestia decides that she wants to find love without the weight of her office weighing things down, so she does a shapeshifting thing to make herself more normal-pony-like. Then cue hijinks as she tries to keep her love interest from finding out, or Luna from blackmailing her, or something...

Trixie, why do you even come to school?
The law says the Great and Powerful Trixie stuck here until she's 18. After January 15, The Great and Powerful Trixie is blowing this Popsicle stand and traveling the world, doing the greatest magic anypony has ever seen!
Trixie, you're failing Magic Theory. You can barely do simple illusion magic.
Then I'll go to Earth Pony towns. They won't know the difference.

They gave credit to Midnight at the least. That's worth something, right?

I forgot to say something earlier, though! Try addition eyelids, higher on the outside than on the inside of the eye. It will add smugness with just a bit of color change. You'll have to get the angle just right, though, or it will look weird with the otherwise-sad looking eyebrows
Sad? It was intended to look focused.
I may give your suggestion a try too, though.

And yet you're in advanced math and economics.

I have long harbored a theory that the amount of funding one receives is directly proportional to the fanciness (rather than content) of one's equations...

Well, the important thing is, we know you wrote it. If I could edit the post I would, but I'm not actually trusted with that sort of power. <.<

Don't worry, I'd never do the same thing to Shimmer.... if that's what you meant. I'm actually sort of curious as to what exactly you mean by that.
Besides, the reason this is funny is that it meshes well with Trixie's canon appearance.

Well it turns out illusion isn't Trixie's specialty. She's a MATHAMATICIAN.

I'm not a particularly good judge, but as far as I'm concerned it hasn't been a mistake. I feel slightly creepy saying this, but I've been eagerly awaiting every update you've made.
(Now hoping I haven't misinterpreted what you meant.)

Mostly it was a passing intellectual concern. I know at least the majority of the background around your distaste of Show!Trixie, even if I don't agree with it all (she's my favorite sort of villain, like a pony version of Robert Angier). It's just more, seeing that distaste manifest so strongly, I extrapolated and worried what that wrath would look like turned upon Shimmer.
I also know you're a nice guy and wouldn't do anything like that. But for a moment I became seared by the fury of your burn, and it kinda scared me. Nothing more.
