Ahem! 1983 here and not to be too modest but I consider myself at least decent player.

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
Yup, '83 here too and I can still game with the best of 'em.
Well, maybe not those kids on Starcraft or Brawl, but still...

Hey, Mom was ace at River Rider. :smalltongue:
That reminds me that I must get them a Wii so they can have a nice digital entertainment now that they're retired.

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
So, just 'cause I'm from the ages before mankind doesn't mean I can't play videogames.

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting

Perhaps it's not a matter of games and more a matter of observance?
To recap: Dead things no movey. *thumbs up*

In layman's terms: speedy thing goes in, speedy thing comes out.
If you quit now, cake will be served immediately.

Well, if you were a gamer, you would know the cake is a lie...

If you were a gamer, you would know that, in fact, the cake is a truth. In fact, Weighted Companion Cube is there, but you aren't, cause you blew the place up.

Actually the cake is a form of food that is usually sweet and often baked. Cakes normally combine some kind of flour, a sweetening agent (commonly sugar), a binding agent (generally egg, though gluten or starch are often used by vegetarians and vegans), fats (usually butter, shortening, or margarine, although a fruit purée such as applesauce is sometimes substituted to avoid using fat), a liquid (milk, water or fruit juice), flavors and some form of leavening agent (such as yeast or baking powder), though many cakes lack these ingredients and instead rely on air bubbles in the dough to expand and cause the cake to rise. Cake is often frosted with buttercream or marzipan, and finished with piped borders and crystallized fruit.*

...So am I gonna get any cake?

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
You will get no cake. But if you would like I can give you a steak.

How about a steak flavored cake:yuk: ?

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
'77 here, and I can hang. I don't play games very often mind you (mostly because I have no time) but when I play I'm always good acceptable.
Multi- and co-op are never a prob for me, even with new games (as most are when I play them).

As for gaming, I was born in 1971 and I think I do quite well, though I admit, I usually just find a move or two that work best for me and spam them. None of this "back-back-up-back-kick the puppy-hop on one foot" for me.

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
A-1 sauce ruins overpowers the flavor of a good steak.

The cake isn't a lie. I was going to throw a party, too, and invite all your friends. I invited the Weighted Companion Cube but he couldn't come, because you murdered him.

Hmmm..... There are very few games that have made me do that. Mostly just Soul Calibur II. All other games are move spamming for me, as well.
Ironically, I've found it to work very well. In Smash, for example, if you spam a move, people start getting pissed off. I've learned that when people get pissed off, they don't play as well anymore. :smallwink:
*goes back to shooting Pit's arrows all over the place and then using Angel Ring on whoever gets close*

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
I'm a nut for fighting games. I have a habit of running training with all characters so that I know every move there is.
Seriously. Don't fight me on Soul Calibur II. I am undefeated with Nightmare.
Am I too old to be scared of spiders?
'Cos there's this massive one nearby who's just staring at me.

By massive do you mean the size of your thumb nail, your fist, or a dinner plate? Either of the latter two, and you have a free freak-out.
In happier news, I am actually succeeding at dwarf-fort!

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
I really had a weird dream last night.
I was playing/in a game, a mix of Diablo II LoD and Starcraft I, I was exploring a dungeon with a boss in it, I defeated it, but then I was attacked by The council of Kurast, only each of the names said : Dood council.(Dood means dead in dutch)
It was really weird anyway..

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
'85 here and I'd say I'm pretty decent at games too! Give me a good puzzler and I'll give anyone a run for their money! Or driving games for that matter.
I don't play them as often as I used to though, as you get older I guess you're not as competitive purely because there are too many other important things to do with your time.

´91 here.

Re: SMEE's Random Banter #97 of gender bending and closet bursting
'88, and I seem to be just naturally good at games. Sometime last october (I think) I was hanging out with some friends when a Gamecube was produced and MarioKart began. Having never played before, the moment the controls were explained to me I was instantly almost as good as the best player there who'd spent ages getting good and was made of win at the game. She got really annoyed about it as well.

Indeed '87 FTW (also, ageist superiority FTW :P )
I've always been good at games... real good, but I refuse to play most competitive games since an incident where I beat a friend real bad in front of his other friends at HALO and he resented me after that. Though, in retrospect he wasn't a very good friend. :P

Puzzler?
Like Pokemon Puzzle League? Man, that game was awesome....
But I agree with you, I haven't played much at all lately.
Oh, yeah, while everyone's saying.... I'm '89.
