Well, I did not see that coming.

Well, that episode was AMAZING! I loved Goliad. Hope he comes back because he's a very interesting character and I want to see him in future stories.
Spoiler
Show
He's like a combination of Hal from Space Odyssey and Knives from Trigun.:smalleek:
The comedy bits were great too. One of my favorite episodes.

Bubblegums getting almost as bad as the Ice King in the creepy department. She has made a total of two heirs, one of which is insane, the other creepy in her own special way, and, well, that whole "immortal" thing.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I think dying truly shaken her in the wrong way. Since Goliad is the way she is because of Bubblegums DNA. Stormo was fine, and heroic.
Bubblegums not telling us something. :smalleek:

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Well, she was trying to kill everyones fovorite half-baked candy person in that brew, so perhapes his shear stupid was to counteract the general evil of candy people?
Actualy, that explains a lot. A whole lot. Like how they hated tree trunks love and such.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
And Candy Butler knowing Death himself...
Or maybe its the influence of the lich!
But Tree trunkses love was just annoying. That was not love, that was just being disrespectful to others making out in somebody else's sandwich.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Well, it was like they hardly knew what was going on. And Bubblegum was creepy before the lich, but probably not to this point. I mean, look at Lemongrab. He's techicly her son, and she treats him like a.....I dont know a word that discribes it well enough.
Oh, and the candy kids are evil. They try to clime into Jakes eyesocket.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
And Baby Finn Killed a bear, skinned it and wore its scalp as a hat.
But yes the candy kids are evil.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
So if PB created a clone using Finn's hair, did she create her concoction by scratch or did she just reuse what she had left over from Goliad?

I assume she reused because when Finn asked her, she acted like putting his DNA in was the only thing she did differently.

Well, didn't Goliad take a few days and the new one took - what? like 5 minutes?

That doesn't make them evil. Meelo tried to eat his own dad's head and he ain't evil. He's awesome. In fact, there should totally be a Legend of Korra and Adventure Time cross over with Meelo and Finn. Best crossover ever!!!

It seems that vat has been used before, and that this is not the only time she has used that. So yeah, its probably from the same stuff.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Wow... There's been some pretty creepy stuff in this show before, but I think this episode took it to a whole new level... Goliad force fed the candy people to Jake... And not just through the mouth... That was a bit... Much
She also forced them in his eye sockets. What did you think I meant?

Goliad's little speech about the Bee is the creepiest thing seen so far in the show.
Also, did anyone else catch her saying "Glob Dobbit" in the playground scene?

Welp, this episode was...interesting. More crazy ice king. Makes one wonder if finn is ever going to bring Holly Jolly Secrets up again.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
So how many Poltergeist references were in the episode?

You probably noticed this, but I thought I'd tell you anyways just in case.
In the newest episode:
Spoiler
Show
Finn calls the Ice King by his real name, Simon.

I noticed that, but it's been a while since I watched Holly Jolly Secrets so I didn't know if that was Ice King's real name or if Finn was just being random.

I imagine it was just a little thing they put out there to get the fans excited.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Holly Jolly secrets freaked me out. It's incredibly sad what happened to Simon. What's odd though is that the ice king claims to have made the crown himself through stolen magic.
But Goliad totally cracks the top 5.

He also has a princess obsession thats the last reminent of his old self, and his reaction to the main duo seeing the tapes was that he was upset they learned he used to wear glasses. He's hardly the best information broker.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I don't think anything in Adventure Time is all that creepy. What you guys describe as creepy moments were some of my favorites though, so maybe I'm just used to "creepy" fiction.

Goliad was just awesome. It flawlessly contained a lot of complex themes for not just a children's show, but any work of fiction.
Also, candy people crawl inside Jake!:smalltongue:

Yeah, who knows how that effects hid organs. He can even make little extra hands.

Given the trick he pulled with Memow, its pretty unclear how far his powers go.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I'd say complete bodily manipulation... If you've ever watched Yu Yu Hakusho, think Elder Toguro... Only a lot less creepy... And if you haven't watched that show... Well, Elder Toguro is a guy whose opening move was to morph his hand into a replica of his body, squeeze the rest of his body down in the cracks in the floor, let his opponent attack the replica, and then come up from underground and backstab his opponent (who as far as anyone could tell, had just cut Elder Toguro in half. The actual damage was about the level of a bad papercut.) He's also able to regenerate from anything that doesn't destroy his heart or brain, and can move those around his body at will (he described trying to kill him like trying to find a needle in a hay stack, only the needle is constantly moving around).
Slightly more on topic, if I could have any sort of power, that sort of bodily manipulation would be it.
-

Thing is, wether Jake's willing to use it to full extent changes by the episode. I mean, we have yet to see him go Shiva-like with a small armys worth of weapons, and he can form at least a few pairs of hands. Half his battle stratagy revolves around streching around a area and raming the opponent, rather than, say, becoming tiny and poping up to the size of a small house.
So, yeah, much like the Ice King, he has a pretty varied way to use his incredibly useful talent, but lacks the sort of "ommf" to use them properly.

I believe I said earlier that Finn and Jake are going to grow up to be the Toguro Brothers. You got the younger tough, front line fighter and the body manipulator.

Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I'm curious how far Jake could really stretch. He went for miles in that maze episode. How big could he get before he starts to get 'thin.'

Well in the maze, it made him sick so he probably couldn't have gone much further than that.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
I'm not talking about length, I'm talking total mass. We didn't see how long the total distance he stretched.

Darn it Finn, why did you have to break her out of that room! I think everyone could have been happy with a seven minute episode if it ended right there.

Well, just going to say that I guess the cookie thinks PB'c crown is a magical mind-control thing, like the Ice Kings.

If PB looked the same when the cookie was a kid as when he was an adult, how old does that make her?

Old. Or as a hypothetical guess and her information about science, as old as Marcy. Have we actualy met royalty who ages normaly?

I'm not sure if she's quite that old. Marceline seemed to have been around for the Mushroom war or at least not too long after it ended, but thats purely speculation. As for other royalty, not really but we don't have that much to go on. LSP is around 15, but other than that, nothing really comes to mind.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Ehh, she's still pretty old. We dont know how long the Ice King has been kidnapping her, but it's probably started long before Finn showed up in his behated glory.
Also, amusingly, out of the five kings we have seen, two were undead, one was flat-out dead, and another is, well, Simon. The other is a being made out of fire, and one can only hope that he was not originaly a human. The apperance of his daughter, on the other hand, says otherwise.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Wait.. no. I think PB is 18 because when Lemongrab came, I'm pretty sure it specifically says she becomes 18 (again).

She was 18 at the start of the show, and Finn has gone thru two birthdays. Nope, she's physicaly eighteen. Thats where it stops.

If she could make herself 13 through surgery, maybe she can basically control her age and therefore extend her life. The only problem with this is that she seems to thnk she's going to die of natural causes when she's making Goliad.

To put it bluntly, Ooo is harsh enough that if Finn was not around, any or all of the things that have effected the Candy Kingdom could have ended it permently. Heck, dieing from PB's expriments could probably be considered "natural causes" in the Candy Kingdom, if it were not for the fact they can now raise the dead.

Well that was another amazing and deep episode of Adventure Time.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
You know? I hope adventure time ends season 4.
Not because its bad. Far from it. This season has some of the best episodes.
But because I don't want it to drag on long enough for it to suck so I can remember it positively. And the creators can go work on something new.

I can understand the notion of always leaving people wanting more, but I do want them to keep going because it's so good. At least give us one bad season, then okay maybe. Not every series with great early episodes that goes on forever turns into the Simpsons in terms of quality.
-
Re: What time is it? (Adventure Time Season 3)
Then give me some that don't.
Also, Bubblegum is going more and more loco. Must be all the kidnappings and zombies and dying twice.
