That's awesome!
Very nice job on the details. It detailed, but it doesn't look messy, very nice done.
On thing though, the clips of ammo on the heavy weapon guy in the middle looks like its under his arm, shouldn't it be over his shoulder?

I believe added line thickness to arms and legs would help. Also, a bigger lower region would help (you know, the rectangle bellow the torso).
Finally, HIS (artist's left) right foot looks completely flat.
-
Re: OotS Style Art/Fanart Showcase IV
Yeah I always forget to hit line thickness, should put a sticky note on my comp on it. Anyway thanks for the advice.

Thanks, Having trouble with the feet still. As for the black vest. I like it black but I'll try gray and see how it works. (His arms are in fact under it.)
...No changes till tommorrow though, drunk off lack of sleep that I am I'd probably give him a third arm and say it looks beautiful.

So, I haven't made an OOTS avatar since I left to Greece a few weeks ago, and the only avatar I have made was my pony week avi that didn't end up getting used, so I decided to get back in the loop with this.
Since it is the tradition as well as the nature of this thread, let me know if you have any criticism on it.

The hands? Its quite simple to do. I made three seperate lines for the "fingers" off of the original line for the arm and then just played with the curve of them until I was satisfied with the final result. Zooming in helps immensely with getting the curves right.
Edit: I also played with the stroke style and changed the ends to curves rather than the flat and boxy default.

Its very neat and soft, and I enjoy your interpretation of the OOTS style body shape (Something I'm jealous of). You have a very distinctive style.
I'm curious as to what stroke thickness you tend to use and how you shaded the edges of the dress and the white tufts(?) in her hair.

My little trick is to not use strokes at all. For example, the legs, which look like a vector path with stroke, is actually a rectangle shape with added vertices for the bends, etc. That way I can freely adjust the "thickness" to whatever suits my eye. It also results in that flowy feel, because the "line" does not have a consistent thickness.
As for the white shading, it's a block of lavender shape (e.g. the silhouette of the tutu), topped by another layer of shape similar to the first one but slightly smaller, this time in white. I then add extra vertices for definition(the creases, shadows, etc). This detailing is done on the top shape, sort of cutting out pieces to show the lavender shape underneath. The result looks the same as a shape with an outline, but you'll have greater control with the look of the edges. ^_^

Funnily enough, I did not realize I was actually drawing this piece on a 320x320 canvas until after the finishing touches. I had to fix it again after downscaling to 120x120. So much for drawing the bracelet and the necklace. :smallsigh:

Looking at the picture, I fail to see why it would qualify as Real World Politics.
He's not discussing the war. He's not endorsing one side or the other - it's a memorial to all who died during it, which is quite noble to be sure.

i vote that we ask a MOD. that way i can know for sure whether or not it would be against the rules, rather than have US try to figure it out ourselves.

You should make the arm not holding something do something more interesting than just hanging loose. also, I would make the ninja come from behind the crib and loop around it.

Because ninjas are creatures of darkness that can manipulate shadows to fit their baby killing needs.
But I still like the idea of a the ninja coming out of nowhere, reminds me of Paper Mario.

It's so awesome that the head looks a little out of place since it looks way to OoTSy while the body is clearly tending toward realism.

I like that wxdruid, although I agree with Araveugnitsuga that the face seem too simple for it.
One thing I liked more when I took my first look at it was that I didn't see that the yellow part of the dress was the hole the feet came out from. For me it looked like a decorated cloth hanging from the waist and the feet was covered by the folds of the cloth behind it.

The sleeves are too skinny. They should come up under the cape's shoulders. Take the black outlines off of the magical energy too. Other than that, a pretty solid first try.

It's all awesome, every single one.
I'm specially in awe at your Blendin, my try was less than spectacular and I find your handling of her hair and lance to be the epitome of awesomness.
Also, the dynamic poses make it all the better, specially Liesel's. They just look alive.
Art of the highest quality.

I would say enlarge the robe so that the top corners are the shoulders in relation to the cape (so make the robe width match the edges of the shoulders of the cape) and resize the legs and length of the cape accordingly. The sleeves, while better in size, look odd. Sleeves don't hold static positions like that unless they're shakespearean-era puffed :smalltongue:. Physics applies to the end of sleeves, so I'd recommend making the opening hang down more so that it looks more flow-y.

I agree with Kopaka, sleeves on robes tend to look better and more flowy when you let the bottom hang down below where the arms leave them. For instance:
