Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
This is a thread for posting all the little details in OoTs comics that you never saw on your first (or second, or third) read through.
It doesn't matter if someone else has spotted it and mentioned it in this thread, just as long as you haven't, here is the place to post all those cool little things!
The old thread. (thanks Gift Jeraff!)

Re: Things you never noticed II
I saw this comic many times and always thought in the last panel that they are going uphill. I recently realised that they aren't. They are going along flat ground but the whole panel is tilted.
See the background with a line of mountains in the distance. In all the other panels it runs roughly horizontally. But in the last panel alone it gets higher from left to right, at the same angle as the ground. If they were going uphill, the mountains would still go horizontally.
Compare to the first panel here, where they ARE going uphill, and the sand dunes in the background are roughly horizontal.

Re: Things you never noticed II
I just noticed that in comic #13 that Roy's sword goes "snicker snack!" while beheading Xykon, which would be what the vorpal sword does in "Through the Looking Glass" (2nd book to Alice in Wonderland and also referenced in the Tim Burton adaptation).

presumably to fit more into the available space.

She's going uphill and those aren't mountains. They're just different colours of the cave wall. Look at #524.
EDIT: Also, I suggest linking the original thread in the OP, in case anyone wants to read what other people never noticed.

Re: Things you never noticed II
I only recently noticed the Definitely NOT a Bandit Camp sign.

I think she's not going uphill. Look at the stance of the NPC woman - if they were going uphill, she'd fall over.
The reason for the tilting is because it's expressing Haley's viewpoint. She's towing a heavy load, made even heavier by Belkar's gratuitous selfishness, and she's feeling put-upon.

Good idea.

I don't think so. By that logic, the entire Order should have fallen over in the strip Ron Miel linked.

Re: Things you never noticed II
I like this reference to Al Roker: 576

That is just the art. Look here again. They are all tilted.
The cave is definitely going uphill.

Okay, it makes sense that they are colours on the cave wall, I'll grant you that point. Even so, there's no reason why the colours would run uphill. They would still run horizontally in the background even when the ground slopes.
In #524 there are people on 2 levels of the cave, there's probably a slope to get from the lower to the higher. The bands of colour in the cave would still run horizontally behind the slope, right?

Aww come on, everybody knows that the second thread after a lengthy one needs a subtitle.

Any suggestions then?

Re: Things you never noticed II
How about "I never noticed there was a first thread"
And, to comment on the cave wall colour argument, it would make sense for the colours to run uphill if they were the result of tunneling rather than a natural formation

Done. Good idea.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Likely due to English not being my first language, I just realized that the final panel of this strip included a double-entendre with the word "hexes". Now I understand why the green hag is calling them good sport about this.

Why is the green hag calling them a good sport about it?

Not sure I understand the double-entendre. I guess someone could think it is a pun for "hooray for sexes," but the strip itself doesn't indicate that we should see a pun there, and the long hex discussion between Roy and V doesn't fit that sort of a pun (unlike the running "Hinjo's Junk" strip). It is more likely that the joke is just about hexes, and nothing more.
Unless "hex" means something else that I'm not aware of...

"Hex" can also mean "curse" or "jinx", like the attacks the hag is about to use on them. She's glad to see they're such a good sport about being killed.

Ooh, that is a good one.
I never noticed that here the Go board is little scratches on the floor.

Ah, right (self facepalm). Whenever someone says "double entendre" I think they mean a risque double-meaning. That's what tripped me up.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Just noticed this on a read-through from where DStP ended:
#680 Panel 6 links up with #725 Panel 4
I thought it was quite cool how it matches up.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Wow, you're right! Go Giant...!

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Here, Roy is rolling up a character using the harshest version of the rules, where you can't even rearrange your rolls after making them.
Yet he still manages to get an Illusionist, one of the toughest classes to qualify for in 1e. If I recall correctly, you needed something like 13 INT and 17 DEX, and no other stats below 6.
Now I've realised - he's in Heaven, or at least the waiting room of Heaven - of course he'll get whatever stats he wants, regardless of how many dice he rolls...

Cool find
I guess I did notice this before, but until the recent strip I never realized that Nale could kiss Sabine without losing levels, see here
Also her tail wraps around his leg...i think

Ooh, nice catch on the tail.
From that same strip, I just noticed Nale's last bubble in panel 4. Haaaa. Remember how it ultimately turned out?
