Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Heres is the link to the first thread. First
Heres the comic link LINKY!
*EDIT* Just a test title, considering who knows what the lineup will be if this continues.
-
Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
As a suggestion? Add a link to the strip in the first post, please. Thanks!
Such a great strip! Is it wrong that a screen capture comic actually makes more sense than the original?
-
Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
Darths and Droids 2: Jar-Jar you're a genius? what other famous quotes are there in the strips?
-
Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
Wow, that first thread lasted us for 4 years. That is amazing.

Summon Bigger Fish!
Though if it was me, I'd probably go with Darths and Droids 2: Cheddar Monk Academy.

Surfling HalfOrc said a link to the comic, not the first thread.

And when Surfing HalfOrc tells you to do something, you do it. I hear he polishes his board with the skulls of his enemies.

Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
As a note, it is common practice to link to new threads when you make them. Also, I like the thread name.
Furthermore, continuing the discussion at the end of the last thread: I am going to bet that Ben ends up playing Han, Annie plays Leia, Ben's sister plays C3-P0, chewie, yoda, and Lando, Jim plays Luke...any other players I forgot?

Twice! Just twice, and they never let you forget it! Sheesh.

Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
Finally we get to the reveal, and it's better than I'd expected! I want to pull something like that in my campaigns now!
-
Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
nooooo not the dinosaur ponies! This is truly a dark hour ladies and gentlemen.

Re: Darths and Droids 2 Luke, I WAS Your Mother!
And we once again learn WHY its important to listen to the (&^%(^% DM!!!
How about this for a title? Darths And Droids 2: Where Will The Cheddar Monks Train Now?

Of course Pete was Van Helsing. The repeat-action crossbow alone smells of munchkinery.
I must have missed a couple of strips about it. All I remembered was vampires, werewolves, and a casual reference to sparkling.

That's actually a good idea. Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo or something in that line would be awesome.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Im now looking forward to the extensive narrative from the dm as we learn exactly how badly and in how many WAYS the entire party screwed up. lol
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Didn't several people predict this exactly?
Cause...
Hee I got to use that!
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Well, at least the villians behind what happen to Naboo will all die soon.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Yeah, the next few chapters can't come fast enough. I really can't wait to see how this will unfolds.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Well, at least nothing of value was lost. :smalltongue:

Yeah, that's how it happened. It just made sooo much sense, and it's something these guys would do! I wasn't the first guy to predict it, but I seconded it!

Just sayin'.

I just want to say that, if after all this, Bibble actually turns out to be a traitor, I dont know if ill laugh cry, or rage. The very IDEA that Jim might have been right could tear a hole in the space/time continuum.

Jim was right about the treacherous Grand Vizer, Count Rugen in the campaign that he, Ben, and Pete played in between the first and second movies.

Pfft, everyone knows that off camera paradoxes dont cause space/time tears. Its basic physics people!
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So... nothing big happened. Though I wonder again why Pete created a character with so little combat skills.
But I guess it's all up to Annie now.

We've heard about Annie running a game, and everyone hated it except the person Annie despises.
I'm wondering if we're going to go through all the players running games or sections of the main game, with the final conclusion being "the GM is the GM for a reason."

We don't actually know that Jim ever thought anything about Count Rugen before the GM formally revealed that Rugen was evil. We just know the GM put in the goatee as part of a plan for Jim to know something the others didn't know and that he couldn't believably argue for.
(And technically, Rugen was the opposite of treacherous; he was evil because he was loyal to his kingdom's evil--but legally in control--prince.)

Have to min something to max other things.
Pete's complained before about the GM's idea of a space campaign involving so much planetside time when Pete was expecting it to be all about space dreadnoughts bristling with atomic weapons.

Now I'm even more curious. What lead from this into padme-killing and the climatic duel?

"Its too late, I must destroy this planet to stop it from becoming the peace moon."
"No Annie! I cant let you do that!"
"You dare question me?!" /force choke
Obviously not those exact words, but I bet padme will oppose some grand plan of anakins and in order to stay in character, she will have to choke jim out.
Also the question of pete and his crappy damage. Yeah, like was said, he designed his character around a space fighting campaign, he is able to hack any computer, fly any ship, repair all sorts of damage, in a space ship battle, who cares about the guy with a light saber? Its the turbo lasers capable of wiping out villages on the ship that count! In that sort of campaign, pete would have been the strongest party member by an entire magnitude.

And within the next week, Obi-wan will finally learn just how far Anakin has fallen. Should be interesting to see how Mr. Player-Character Separation plays that out.

Er... He's already playing up his player-character separation.
Ben already knows, recall. He was sitting at the table when it happened.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I know that, I'm just wondering how Ben will portray Obi-Wan's realization that Anakin has gone evil. Now that Obi-Wan actually has compelling, in character evidence to act upon.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Ben isn't the most role-playing character as far as I can recall. (Unlike e.g. Annie) I really don't expect too much from Obi-Wan, to be honest.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Which is pretty funny, considering that Ewan McGregor was the only one acting well by this point. I expect Ben will go and emote at least a little when he discovers Anakin's evilness.

Well, no, but Annie is pretty much in a league of her own role-playing-wise. Ben is easily the second most role-playing character.

Well, that's a bit akward.

Have we ever seen Ben struck dumb before? He seems to be the least likely of the group, aside from Sally, to be at loss for words.
Dumbfounded gibberish resulting from Jim's plans do not count.

I just liked Pete calling out the GM on his exposition love.

Granted, it was when he tried to think like Jim.

Being puppetmasters. Both of them have been playing other folks, pursuing their own agendas, and angling each time to improve their own position.

How does that even work? Bile makes for pretty good cleaning fluid and blood is an excellent cocktail ingredient if one feels like they don't get enough iron in their diet, but skulls as polish? I thought they only had a decorative use.
On topic: I've had a theory that the GM will change between the original and new trilogies for a while. Methinks Annie will take over to prove that she has learned from her mistakes how to GM properly - Vader will probably be the main villain, after all. The original trilogy does seem like a more thematically together campaign than the new movies, after all. This will handily allow the current GM, most probably named Lucas George or somesuch to play.

Ditto. I had that idea a while back, with Anni GMing the next trilogy but the GM being a player... I get the feeling such... uh... enthusiastic GMs make for poor players. But maybe I'm wrong. Or maybe that'll be a new direction for the jokes to go. We'll see.
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Im honestly curious how the political landscape will be setup in the second trilogy. Will Palpy be the figurehead ruler while Vadar takes command? Will Jims rebellion finally get started for inexplicable reasons because the empire is STILL a republic?

Its nice that Gunray calm about the fact that he's going to die in a few seconds.
I like a villain that goes out in style.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Just a question (I dunno if this hasn't already been asked), but how much cooler would Episode 3 have been if the Trade Federation had actually turned Naboo into a molten slag planet? That would have been a much better explanation for why no one in Episodes 4-6 makes any mention of the planet: it isn't one.
