[Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
This is the imposing acronym that now hangs in neon blue over the heart of the Red Zone. It is suspended from the equally imposing height of the Clinic's main building, a chrome dome surmounted by a huge glittering tower of hardlight and nanobots. Strange pictures and advertisements - like the one above - typically flicker into existence on the face of the tower every few moments.
The city of Inside, up until now, has suffered a lack of public cloning facilities. As of today, Magtok and AMEN aren't the only people with access to instant immortality. Though, as you'll find, cloning is far from the only thing this Clinic can do.
The clinic itself is not just one building - through marvels of far-future technology, the adjacent tenements have been bought and transformed into new facilities, meant for the housing of patients and subsequently the housing of Elexxion employees. Even these old buildings are rising to new heights, and the neighborhoods around the clinic are slowly being reformed to do the same.
Please read the Rules and Services before posting here. At least.
Elexxion Industries
Spoiler
Show
The Elexxion Industries Consortium is a powerful group of corporations that outstrips whole governments in its level of influence. The Consortium's skinny fingers are curled around the throats of many great nations, and they seek to do the same with the Nexus. They hold interests in a variety of cutting-edge technology, and PMCs or 'Security Teams' keep these interests safe.
Below is the CEO of Elexxion's Frontier Branch, Maxwell-88. While the clinic is a joint effort between the independently wealthy musician Tina and Elexxion, they still require someone to overlook the project. Tina's sister Naitiri runs the clinic, and Maxwell manages Naitiri. Of course, he's very busy with the rest of the frontier, so formal visits are minimal.
Cosmetic augmentations and casual clothing are common in EIAC facilities. Typically, the host population of a Frontier planet is hired for cheap labor. The old, sick, or desperate among them are transformed into beautiful, highly loyal employees. The secretaries are typically outfitted with a neural headset, a holographic gadget that connects them to Elexxion's private network.
While much of any Clinic's systems are automated, there are two classes of human employees: the workers and the warriors, as the heads of the Elexxion 'hive' like to say in jest. The workers manage new patrons, show people around, comfort patients before surgery, and take care of physical paperwork, among other things.
The warriors defend these valiant 9 to 5 workers from angry customers, terrorists, and rival companies. These teams typically consist of one 'human' operative and several clones in varying stages of cyberization.
Clinic Assets
Spoiler
Show
The Clinic controls several assets of note that may be useful in future endeavors or appeal to a certain clientele. These are just a few.
-
Elexxion Assault Beasts. 3 to be precise. These monsters of vat grown flesh and spare steel are mostly cosmetic. Meant to intimidate enemies of the Consortium. And while they are rather inefficient - inaccurate targetting systems, too-short jaws, primitive joint support - they can be incredible shock troops. The beam-weapons in their mouths and their secondary missile pods prove to be a boon for that same purpose.
-Several Harnesses, a special piece of Elexxion tech that typically melds with human flesh to some degree. These can be used for combat, heavy labor, or improvements on just about anything a regular person can do. They can range from
primitive to almost
lifelike in their design.
-Zero, a sentient blob of primordial ooze with untold medical uses. Player: Mindfreak.
-Approximately 500 cloning vats, fresh and ready for new bodies.
-Various surgical chambers, automated for your convenience.
-Several dozen 'converted' employees, various homeless or downtrodden people from Inside's Red Zone. In exchange for new bodies, food, and shelter, they work to advance the Clinic's goals. No charge to them, beyond working off their respective fees. These ranks are growing each day.
-A few dozen 'Revenants', people who were paid in life for their bodies after death. These former human vessels are transformed into robotic slaves in the guise of humanity. They're the never-sleeping warriors, the office workers that never leave, the maids and manservants that live to do as they're told. Some of these are converted to Escorts, units designed for limited sexual gratification and loyal defense of a single target. These units cannot be permanently bought, only rented and renewed.
-Finally, the Elexxion Network. This interplanetary communications array is perhaps one of the greatest pieces of technology mankind has ever produced. Data can be transmitted through the invisible barriers that separate universes, a difficult feat even in the Nexus. Limited use of this network will be available in upcoming cyber-cafes around the Clinic. Managing this network are the Auditors, human CPU's, masters of the digital plane. They are typically far from human - dermal augmentations, cables running from their skulls, strange equipment replacing their limbs. These Auditors are often the most capable of handling a Harness properly.
Employees of note
Spoiler
Show
-Tina, co-owner of the clinic and wealthy musician in her own right.
-Naitiri, Tina's sister, a proficient businesswoman and 'security' professional.
-Adam, nanotech specialist.
-Dexter, robotics engineer, maintenance man for many of the clinic's core systems.
-Andreas Emeral, cyborg surgeon and researcher. Played by Zefir.
-Evanazgrix, chief of security, and a very powerful demon. Played by Harnel.
-Gertrude, head secretary at the clinic.
Services
Spoiler
Show
Truth be told, the clinic is capable of almost anything, for enough money or work. Don't just go by this list - anything you can imagine that alters or improves the body, put it forward. The clinic works in organic and mechanical fields.
-The growth of organic flesh. Examples include clones, new limbs, organs, and bones.
-Cosmetic augmentation. Examples include new skin colors, tones, and types. Changes to the features range from simple surgery to wild, fantastic new things like animal parts, glowing hair, and strange shapes for the eyes or ears.
-Physical augmentation. The best examples include augmented musculature, increased dexterity, and improved senses.
-Mental augmentation. This includes improved cognitive abilities, the adaptation of psychic powers, and cyberization of the brain. Cyberization of essentially transforms your brain into a computer, with all the added benefits - data transfer, controlling other computers and electronic devices, as well as what one could call 'telepathy'. Whole careers can be learned in a day. There's instant communication through the Elexxion network.
-Specialized augmentation. This includes things beyond the norm, like flight, special powers, or weapons contained within the body. Molded energy shields and nanobot injections are common, for increased durability. Morphing powers are rare, but possible.

Locations Within
Spoiler
Show
While the decor is shapeless and inconsistent - being updated to current Elexxion fashion will do that - the rooms generally stay the same.
Generally.
[Public]
Spoiler
Show
Lobby - The first thing most people are gonna see. Much of the available space - the walls, the ceiling - is covered with ads for augs, Escorts, and job opportunities. Several secretaries tend three desks stationed ergonomically around the room. The walls slant dramatically, leading into a huge set of windows that allow direct sunlight into the Lobby.
The Browse - Where much of the clinic's wares are put on display. Most of what's listed in the OP can be found here in cases segregated from the unwashed hands of the masses. Human employees are stationed around the room to answer questions. Lightly augmented sec officers are here to help deter theft of Clinic property.
Observation Rooms - For those with cold feet about being augmented or undergoing cyberization, this is the place to go. One can watch the simple (if sometimes gruesome) processes firsthand. Please ask an employee to show you the way.
[Private]
Spoiler
Show
Surgical Wing - Located at the far end of the dome, the surgical wing is a simple whitewashed series of automated chambers. Basic AI's manage the spindly steel arms that perform surgery on willing patrons of the clinic. Here's where the magic happens.
The Offices - Where much of the work gets done. Filing contracts, leases, accounting. The workspaces here are broad and allow for plenty of breathing room, striving to make human employees comfortable. There's no actual paperwork to be done - it's all holograms, plasteel and shimmering ceramics. Even the desks are just curvy white shapeless things that project touch-pads or holographic displays. Located in the Tower above the central dome.
The Core - Located at the center of the Office sector, the Core sees all. Here is where the auditors work from, parsing data, giving notice to useless employees, giving by-the-minute reports to Maxwell-88 and his cronies. The auditors are alien, obsessed creatures, rarely leaving their chosen stations for more than an hour or two. They control the clinic's automated systems, including Revenants, the surgical AI's, and the ads.
The Garage - This is where things get dirty. The waste of the facility is processed here, the vehicles and harnesses maintained, and the Assault Beasts fed. Much of the former is fed to the latter, as they'll eat just about anything. This place is a dynamic location - expect changes with each visit, to the rooms and their contents.
[The Facility]
Spoiler
Show
There's a whole other world beneath the clinic itself. Hollowed out by swarms of implacable microscopic machines, this tremendous cave system has been transformed into the Clinic's underground labs.
Cloning Chambers - The size of two football fields, side by side, this cavernous room contains every cloning tank in the facility. Sitting in blocks of four, the glowing vats thrum quietly, filled with mindless meat floating in nutrient fluids. The blocks are set into the floor, making the room look like nothing more than a maze of catwalks. Huge robotic lifts hang ominously from the ceiling, occasionally descending to turn a tank or dispose of failed clones. Quick-maintenance tables travel along the catwalks on rails, occasionally plucking tanks out to perform maintenance on the glassy tubes or their contents. Only experienced employees are permitted to direct these mobile operating tables.
Labs - Where the SCIENCE gets done. New augments are produced, Nexus genetics are examined, and new Elexxion products are built. Mostly bleached white chambers that are kept immaculate by busy revenants in simple harnesses.
Transfer Tunnels - How the things from the Lab and the Cloning Chamber get to the surface. These are received in the Clinic itself at the Garage. Human laborers take care of this area, and it is typically the least impressive of the whole clinic.
Rules
Spoiler
Show
No godmodding permitted, as is standard for Nexus locations.
No destroying the place. Although without godlike powers, that's not very likely. Of course, the former slums around the clinic are still quite vulnerable.
While brief posts are permitted, please put some thought into what you post. Keep to post order, too - if there're multiple people in a scene, wait your turn before posting again unless it's urgent. This rule can also be ignored if another participant in the scene is inactive, or if the scene isn't going anywhere for the moment.
Have fun!

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Lobby]
A tall man, with brown hair, and grey eyes, wearing close-fitting gold clothing, shot through with crimson and black serpents, which seem to writhe and coil as he moves, enters, followed by six creatures, all dressed in black clothing that can be easily fought in; two appear to be chitinous blends of wolves and humans, one with a long bone sword growing seamlessly from where his right hand should be and the other with an oddly organic rifle replacing her left arm, while another pair are felinoid in general body structure, but with faces more reminiscent of a lizard, and long forward-sweeping lengths of polished black horn jutting from the tops of their wrists, and the final two are scaled, with short hair, so as not to obscure the ring of eyes circling their skull, a set of blood red mandibles on both sides of their mouths, and additional joints in their forearms, as well as strange swellings on their palms and the sides of their throats.
Pausing in front of one of the desks, the man smiles at the secretary currently tending it, revealing several rows of needle sharp fangs, which appear to be hollow and made of diamond.
"I would like to inquire as to what sorts of combat augmentations are available. Especially for those with" - he pauses briefly, gesturing to the six behind him - "unusual anatomy."

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Core - Vesa's Quarters]
Vesa Landers sits on her cot, connected to her recharge cable in her lower back and her network cable in the back of her neck (for which she had to pull aside her silvery shoulder-length hair).
As a Revenant, she is able to forgo sleep and food with proper charging; since she has to be sitting here anyway, she browses the interplanetary network of the company, eyes moving in almost REM-sleep patterns and fingers occasionally moving.
She finishes up a few scientific reports and news articles before sitting up a bit and glancing over at the device holding her bodysuit and cerebral bell; they have finished being cleaned and are ready to wear.
Since she is almost never outside of her spartan quarters without being in the suit, she finds little use for the small amount of other clothing she owns, and is simply wearing a company-standard undergarment set (grey of course) as she sits.
Eventually, she disconnects her cables and goes to climb into her bodysuit, interfacing with its automated systems.

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Lobby]
Well that's the strangest group Marge has seen all day. The head secretary stands from her holographic display and smiles endearingly. Well, as endearingly as she can - the fellow's got a scary looking smile. "That has a very... broad definition, sir. What are you and your friends looking to do?"
[Core - Vesa's Quarters]
Vesa will likely enjoy quite a bit of silence - the Auditors, obsessed as they may be, are quiet neighbors. There's a subtle hum from the other room, and the occasional sound of someone moving to get coffee or a Nurture Brand nutrient package.
The helmet fits on comfortably, as does the rest of the suit. If there's anything Elexxion's good at, it's making people comfortable. The Harness molds to Vesa's flesh, plugging itself into the receiving port on her head. The second it does, her camera feeds are lit up with data - Clinic news, security alerts, transmissions from the Frontier. All the news is bad - the Frontiermen are getting resistance from natives on one of the Post-Apoc worlds, and mineral shipments are low.
A voice suddenly breaks into the silence. Though she's barely heard it, Vesa can probably tell it's Naitiri, the appointed head of the clinic. "Vesa? Maxwell's here to see you." This new boss sounds excited. Maxwell always means something's about to happen.
-
Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Core - Vesa's Quarters]
Vesa frowns at hearing of the frontier troubles, but that's not as important as Maxwell coming to see her. Even knowing Naitri was excited about something made it A Very Important Thing.
Sealing her suit and buckling on her kama, she activates the float unit, gliding out of the Harness's rack a modest few inches off the floor. One Sensacle opens her door and she heads out to see what it is Maxwell wants of her.

Andy sits in his chair here in front of some paper. Yes paper. He doesn't have holograms where he worked so most of his old projekts gro drawn by hand and he isn't really in the mood to scan them. The papers aren't old or in any case would be destroyed while scaning. Andy just don't want it. The blan show something like his arm a biotechnological suit. Something is bothering him while he chews on his pen.

A Cylon Centurion enters the large building, looking around. The left side of its face is ravaged with dents and bullet-openings, as is its left arm, though the chrome-plating is still shiny enough to reflect the lights in the room. It has been looking for something to do with its fellow Centurion "brothers" since their unfortunate arrival into the Nexus, and this might just be it.
Its fellow Centurions died shortly after their arrival, and that leaves this one alone. When it saw the neon sign, it was quite interested; coming from a society where cloning and genetic engineering is common place, this might be a good place to work. Reminders of home are always good. Anyway, the hulking seven foot tall robot will look for the nearest employee, while at the same time try to access whatever wireless system the company uses in order to communicate with him/her.

Vesa floats off out of the core, mish-mashed wires and pipes running along the walls beside her. Here, in this refuge of technology, everyone treats her the same. The Auditors and the Revs just work - no prejudice or fear in their eyes.
Outside, however, between the whitewashed office 'desks', strange looks abound. Most of these gaping humans have never seen something so blatantly strange. They strain to avoid her probing limbs, her watchful eyes. A difficult task, for those eyes are many. It would be a relief to escape inside Naitiri's chambers, if Vesa really cared about their opinions.
Those chambers end with an office, with an obvious 'curved' theme. The windows, the fish tank in the left wall, the desk and chairs and coffee table. Even the giant lava 'wall' - like a lamp but bigger - sways in an alien pattern, its contents bubbling warmly.
Naitiri is sitting behind her desk, wearing those obsolete reading glasses she loves so dearly. She's scanning a hologram, trying to keep the excitement off her face per usual. She spots Vesa through it and frowns. "Finally. I'm surprised you got here before Maxwell." As if one cue, someone enters behind Vesa, his steps quieter than snowfall. Only the glass doors swinging closed betray his presence.
"Vesa. Your suit looks lovely. I see you've been maintaining it," comes a mechanical voice, cool and crisp and possessed of a slight echo. With the eyes on the back of her head, Vesa isn't expected to turn around. Not that the surrogate-body's 'face' would betray anything. He continues with the charade of courtesy, standard from Board members. "I hope you've been keeping well."

"Something bothering you?" Dexter asks plainly, off to his right. The placid, friendly man is holding a steaming cup. Whether or not it's coffee is debatable.

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Naitiri's Office]
Vesa does not turn toward Maxwell, and simply nods slightly, one hand absent-mindedly checking that her hydration pack is hooked to the drinking tube that protrudes at one end by the hip and at the other emerges near her collarbone.
Yes, I do my best to properly maintain both my body and equipment, sir.
A few Sensacles focus on him, a few on Naitiri, and the rest idly observe the office; she finds the lava wall fairly interesting.
How would you have me serve the Company?
This is her standard question for such situations; aside from occasional drawing and idle browsing of the network while charging, she has little to do other than whatever tasks her masters and owners intend for her.
Relationships with other people? Besides her obedience to her superiors and any instructing of inferiors that comes her way, there is very little thought put into her interactions with others. Friendship and romantic attraction interest her, but only from the perspective of an observer.
((... I'm starting to find something profoundly sad about Vesa.))
-
Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
((We'll see about that.))
[Naitiri's Office]
"That's precisely how you're going to serve it, Vesa. You're going to maintain your image. Polish that armor a little. More bells and whistles," Maxwell says. As always, he likes to make little gestures with his hands while he talks.
"Maxwell?" Naitiri says. Her excitement has turned to confusion. "Is there something you haven't told me?"
"Later, Naitiri," Max says, blowing his co-manager off without a care in the world. He even holds up a hand, as if to stop her. The businesswoman frowns, a bit more angrily. "Vesa, would you be comfortable with some photo shoots? Perhaps a press conference?" He says these things as if she has a choice. "Of course you are." A complementary clap on the shoulder for his little transhuman follows.
-
Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Naitiri's Office]
This genuinely confuses Vesa. She understands that her appearance affects people, but generally it seems to have been in the vein of, well, unnerving or outright frightening them.
But photoshoots and press conferences sound more like the sort of things that the poster boys and girls for the Company's services would do... though she recognizes that she is a good example of how effective the surgeries can be.
She blinks, thinking it over briefly.
I... yes, I feel I am prepared to serve in that capacity... although I regret to admit that I am unused to public speaking or large crowds.
She also finds the clap on the shoulder a little strange; physical contact is a... weird thing for her.
-
Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Naitiri's Office]
"Unused? Is that apprehension I hear?" Maxwell walks in a half-circle around the Revenant, his tone scrutinizing. "Hesitation is unbecoming of you, Vesa." Max holds his hands out questioningly, leaning in toward Vesa and looking her in the 'eyes'. "How about a demonstration, for potential customers? Are you unused to that?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Naitiri's Office]
Vesa focuses more of her Sensacles on Maxwell.
Not hesitation, merely... caution... but a demonstration for the public is something I am more familiar with....
She nods, not wanting to disappoint her superiors; it's an idea she finds extremely unsatisfying, more so than her discomfort around crowds... right?
Right?
With one hand, she slowly circles thumb and forefinger around each other; that little bug has stayed despite a few patches and updates she's undergone.

The machine is actually quite impressed that security was able to detect its intrusion so quickly- but, then again, in its "primitive" universe the Cylons have state-of-the-art electronic warfare capabilities, and so it probably isn't used to societies with more advanced networking capabilities. The fact that several guards are able to immediately recognize it as the being that accessed the wireless system actually scares it a little.
But then one of the officials contacts him. Its a good thing that it was able to access the wireless system, because it has no way to communicate through speech; it seems that its creators never thought of including a vocabulator into its design. So it'll use the system to reply.
"Requesting to work at this center in some form of military capacity. Experienced in warfare and other guarding duties. Preferably seeking a role as security officer or mercenary. Willing to work in exchange for repairs (when requested) and shelter. Capable of performing occupation under a variety of mission parameters." Well, doesn't it get straight down to the point. It seems that it's asking if there's a job available.

When I meant primitive, I meant the Nexus. Most of it pales in comparison to the Clinic's resources. But a Cylon, even battle-damaged, is enough to give Elexxion employees pause. After a scant few seconds, the security guard replies, "Patching you through to an Auditor. We have a repairman on the way."
Another voice enters its mind, this one more like himself, if alien in its origins and still somewhat human. "Please state your name, callsign, or registration number. Please state your manufacturer and that manufacturer's location."

Maxwell nods, perhaps elated. It's impossible to tell. Part of what makes him and the other board members such dangerous creatures. "You've demonstrated before, then?" Maxwell doesn't need the demonstration, at least - he can access her capabilities in a heartbeat. He does need to know if she'll be competent enough. "How would you feel about a... fight? A little live combat to convince potential buyers that you're worth it?"
"I think I have someone for that," Naitiri suddenly suggests, getting herself an idea. "Our chief of security. He's been... a little absent, lately. This should be a good kick in the pants."
Maxwell-88 claps his steel hands together raucously. "Excellent then. You can fight the demon. Maybe in front of Watchtower or Remnant." None too shockingly, Elexxion already has both organizations on file, so Vesa can download their profiles instantly if she wishes.

Vesa nods again.
A live combat demonstration... I can definitely do that. I will carry out this task for the good of the Company.
She's more interested in checking her files about the security chief than looking up Remnant or Watch, and tries to do so. She had no ire toward him, but if the Company is depending on her to have him dead, she must deliver and do so well.

Andy doesn't give him a look and still concentrates on the plan. I'm not sure how deep Dexter is into cyber tech, but someone with good knowledge should ask himself what he sees here. The plans aren't oganized like a normal blueprint it's a bit of a cryptic language and missing parts. After a moment Andy takes the penn and taps at a point in the mid of the mid plan.
"Yeah! I searched for long time, but I wasn't able to find a source on earth to get this thing running. Well I got the data, but no prototype. Either way without a power source small and powerfull enougth I can only dream of this."
He appears a bit frustated and in some way not really here. His toughts seem to carry him away.

The Cylon will politely refuse the repair offer for now. Most of the damage is purely cosmetic, having had the damaged infrastructure underneath the dented armor repaired long ago, and it finds the dents and such an easy way for non-organics to identify it when it is with other Centurions. Not that it really sees any other Centurions now...
From the sounds of it, Auditors are similar to the Cylon Hybrids that function as main computers aboard their starships. This Centurion is rather fond of Hybrids, so it perks up immediately upon hearing its voice. "Registration Code Unit CBS019-0876. Will respond to verbal commands directed at "Centurion" or "876." Manufacturer: Colony Hybrid Serial Number 003. Location of Manufacture: The Colony. Exact location unspecified; mobile base of operations."
After this reply, the Centurion will transmit its design specifications to the Auditor, minus the details of (or even any mention to) the telencephalic inhibitor that can usually be found within the craniums of Centurions. This device is usually used to suppress the higher-brain functions of Centurions, and it would rather be sure that no one else knows about it. All other information is extremely accurate, though.

Maxwell's tone turns a bit wicked. "Good. Smack him around a little. Show our customers what Elexxion's best at."
This seems to draw the ire of Naitiri, who frowns at the both of them. "Maybe try to sneak some civ friendly work in there too? Survey work? Post-disaster rescue, with all those cameras?"
"Why don't we let Vesa decide what she's best at," Maxwell suggests. He's allowing the Revenant to make her own choice. This is a strange project.
The information on Evanasgrix is thin - some sort of Infernal entity, literally spawned from a world of evil. Although apparently his moral standings are far removed from those of his home plane. The company desperately wants to cut inside Evan, see what makes him tick. According to the file, Naitiri's sister Tina - some sort of musician - is involved with Evanasgrix. She might know more.

Dexter is familiar with the Clinic's technology, and should be able to at least tell what Andy's working on. "Power source? Elexxion might have something that can run this."

"Query: What is the Colony's purpose? Who are the facility administrators?" These are expected to be humans. A machine uprising or invasion is simply unthinkable, in Elexxion's little world.

The Centurion takes a long minute to thing this one out; how does one explain home in mere words? "The Colony is a star vessel that is biomechanical in nature, approximately forty-three kilometers in length. Serves as a homeworld for the Cylon race. Administrator caste is formed of both Humanoid Cylons (bioengineered Cylons that are nearly identical to Humans in every respect), and Hybrids, which are bioengineered supercomputers." The Centurion will likely avoid mentioning the whole "war against Humanity" thing if it can; it sort of makes people less likely to high it, and the economy is tough right now, you know? :smalltongue:

Vesa slowly, quietly clicks her teeth together in thought.
As noble as the latter options sound... Though perhaps I would be physically effective, I have noted that my appearance seems to cause considerable distress among people both inside and out of the Company. I believe nobody has forgotten the incident with the children and the demonstration of camera technologies for use in burning-building rescue situations.
Long story short, Vesa's appearance ended up causing multiple kids to cry and her well-meaning attempts to explain that there was nothing to be afraid of were... about as effective as you'd think they'd be, coming from a scary dead lady who looks like a giant robot jellyfish thing.
Perhaps others may be more suited for demonstrating disaster-rescue operations. I feel I would be most effective in the demoralization and incapacitation of Evanasgrix.
She makes a mental note to contact Tina about Evan, though if Tina's "involvement" is of a romantic nature, she'll be less than likely to word her message as "please tell me about your boyfriend because I am going to beat him up in front of everyone".

"Astounding. Would contact with the Colony be possible?" The Auditor asks, already forwarding this information to the central Elexxion core, which will in turn forward it to all frontier outposts. Mostly telling them to report in about any contact with such a force of machines. At least the Centurion's dodged that bullet. "In any case, your schematics have impressed my superiors. Do you have any further qualifications?"

"Vesa, the people here aren't the same. They won't fear you. We have a demon on our team," Naitiri protests.
Maxwell, meanwhile, seems pleased with this outcome. "Excellent. Make us proud, Vesa." He sounds happy. "Now for the important part. You have to look good doing it. Maybe lose all that... meat." Max is from a 'higher' society - one that favors steel surrogate bodies and strange, alien appearances.

Vesa nods in acknowledgement of Naitiri's point, but pauses at Maxwell's suggestion.
That, sir... that is something I will have to put much thought into... She realizes it would probably be more efficient, but on the other hand... on the other hand was a nebulous, barely-describable mess of thought that translated into her not immediately agreeing.
Impossible to describe and yet blastedly hard to deny---the essence of organic life, perhaps, is the same way.

Naitiri rolls her eyes somewhat dramatically - ensuring Maxwell isn't looking, of course - and turns back to her work. Of course, she seems to have forgotten Vesa's cameras. Or perhaps she doesn't care.
"Come along, Vesa. Do you think you can get into your suit on-'stage'? Over a nicer outfit? Might be more flashy." Maxwell's already imagining the desired effect. He starts to walk off down the hall.
((Hey, I don't mind. I do the same thing - sometimes it just isn't necessary.

The Centurion's head turns to the right about twenty degrees. "Current location of the Colony is unknown. Lost contact with Cylon civilization approximately seven months prior." Further qualifications? Hrrm.. we'll sidestep the genocide on Leonis for now. "Served as security aboard three separate Basestars. Served as co-navigator aboard a Heavy Raider." It won't go into too much detail about how it became pilot aboard a Heavy Raider, as that would reveal how its telecenphalic inhibitor was removed.

"Good, good," says Maxwell. Naitiri just grunts in reply. She seems to have something of a love-hate relationship with Maxwell. The man is insufferable at times.
"I need to discuss something else with you Vesa," Maxwell says, suddenly quite serious. He looks at Vesa sidelong, a pair of panels where his mouth would be twitching slowly. "It's about Evan. He is... an anomaly. Even here, things like him are hard to find. I want you to find out as much as you can before the fight. Use whatever measures are necessary."

"Registering as true. Unshackled AI's of your caliber are rare. Would you be willing to submit to required modifications?" The Auditor asks, while the security personnel continue to look on. They seem to be just scanning the other customers, the regular crowd of Red Zone bums, but their attention always falls back to 876. "Company regulations require probationary AI's to follow certain codes of conduct." The next part is said a little more confidentially, as if some recorder were turned off. "Subjugation to true humans, for instance." The cold voice returns, all business again, no compassion. Perhaps this Auditor is trying to help him, should he join the company. "Will you comply?"

The idea of submitting to modifications is... not something the Centurion looks fondly at. That is the primary reason it didn't join the Remnant; they wanted to install a safety program that would have forced it to be unable to harm Remnant personnel. It didn't appreciate the thought of having a device that hindered its capabilities then, and won't like one now. It will probably be willing to make a compromise and undergo modification so long as its mental state and capabilities remain untouched, though. It will follow codes of conduct without complaint as long as a device isn't used to make sure the code is enforced.
The fact that the Auditor used the word "subjugation" is troubling, though. The Centurion reasons that if the recorder was turned off, the Auditor probably does not want the company to know what it said, so it will avoid mentioning it. But it's curiosity as to what exactly this code of conduct entails has been sparked. More details about the rules and requirements are necessary before submission. As are the details of the modifications. Please state occupational parameters."

She nods again.
I will pursue all possible sources, sir.
She already is thinking of how to word her message to Tina so as not to raise suspicion or objection; she hopes to do this as cleanly as possible, and unwise wording could land her with no information and a person with a grudge against her, and possibly cause Tina to forewarn Evan.

((Say Beans, I think we need a post from you in Watch))
"There was something else, Vesa. I know the Board has designated Naitiri as your new supervisor, but I want to ask a favor of you," Maxwell speaks discreetly, out loud rather than telepathically so as to avoid eavesdroppers. There might be a camera in other rooms, sure, but those tapes can be erased easier than someone's memories. "I want you to keep an eye on the clinic. Watch for... abnormalities. With Tina backing this project, Naitiri has an awful lot of independence." He can't be too careful. "And more importantly, keep an eye on the outside. Walk around a bit. Look for magical people. The Board would be very grateful if you could capture a live wizard without repercussions from local law enforcement." Perhaps an evil one that nobody will miss. "Do you understand?"

I will remain vigilant on both those subjects and will act swiftly and decisively when the time arises.
I must ask, though: does the situation change if a magic-using individual is willing to work with us of their own accord?
She notes that in the former issue, her frightening appearance may deter potential troublemakers. As to the second issue, it seems to her somewhat safer to work with magic-users cooperatively rather than kidnapping one.

Evan is here, wandering about the Lobby and Browse. If anybody wanted to, I don't know, come up and talk to him, they'd be perfectly allowed to do so. After all, most people would consider his odd appearance in this place the result of augs, so the skittish may decide he's someone to talk to about them.

"Sir?" Calls one of the all-female Sec clones. While the headset is less than subtle, an earpiece still allows Evan to walk around without drawing attention. "We just had an Auditor cut for about six seconds." Auditors were mentioned in passing during Evan's orientation, at least. Whether or not he was paying attention is debatable. "You want us to check it out?"

"By all means, let them join. But the Board wants a mage under the knife, and that's what the Board gets. If one signs on, either get them to cooperate or find someone else," Maxwell orders, rather vaguely. "Magic, Vesa. Elexxion must discover this first, one way or another." Vesa nods.
Understood, sir.
I believe I will begin with the gathering of information on Evanasgrix, as that seems most urgent---unless you disagree, of course.
She opens her suit's internal computer setup, beginning a text document for her message to Tina.
Will he be kept uninformed of the... event?
She's got nothing against the guy, but hey---big boss man says beat his face in, you start weighing your sledgehammers---and making sure not to drop any in case the other guy happens to hear the noise.

There's a few moments of silence, and then a brief, heated exchange of words. Someone forgot to turn off comms, but it does help put things in perspective.
"Sir, she's claiming there was no breach in recording. That it's receiving error from Nexus radiation. What do you want to do?"

"You're free to carry out my orders as you see fit," Maxwell says. That command offers an awful lot of power and freedom to Vesa, compared to her usual orders. "And... yes. Keep it from him, for now. And make sure Naitiri doesn't tell him either, if you can."

Vesa nods.
Yes, sir. Thank you, sir.

"Excellent. Thank you, Vesa," Maxwell gives her another complimentary clap on the shoulder. With that, he starts to turn away, saying, "My stylists will be in touch. I'm sure you'll see their arrival. They're very noticeable people." And then he walks off down the hall, unless Vesa needs anything from him.

Evan frowns. That's never good.
"I want a check run on the various systems to see what was hit by this radiation. See what stopped working, how long it lasted, and what was still working. Make sure we know what was sent out during the time we had the breach. I'll be there in a moment."
Evan starts walking in the direction of the source of the anomaly, shadows coming in from the walls to settle on his outfit, which transforms it into a more dignified outfit; fit for a head of security to be wearing. Formal, yet capable of being maneuvered in if necessary, It appears to be a loose suit with the jacket open and a pinstiped shirt underneath. He's not looking to let Naitiri or any of the bigwigs have any amunition against him, so he's making himself presentable for their sakes.
The half-demon doesn't like this. Differences in occurence mean something either is going wrong, or someone's hiding something, and Evan has never really believed coincidence was something that happened naturally.

Oh. So this is another false paradise. The promotion of organic supremacy might not be as blatant here as it was in the Twelve Colonies, but this definitely isn't the safe haven the Centurion thought it would be. Its worried about Auditor Patricia, though.
"Two more inquiries before terms and conditions are accepted; Are Auditors counted as hired workers or Consortium property? What are their place in the Consortium's hierarchy?"

"That's just it sir, the Auditor blacked out. Completely. Those six seconds are just... nothing. There's no record that the time passed at all. No cameras on her, no voice recording, no text transmits. The connection between the Auditor and the Core was severed," the clone says, genuinely disturbed by this. In a world where the computers may as well work like magic, it's generally a bad sign when you lose data. "We've only encountered this two ways, sir. The Auditor cutting out on her own, or the rads coming off a new planet."

Maxwell is indeed done, and Andy manages to catch him as he's exiting an elevator in the lobby. The machine man in the snappy, otherworldly suit peers at him imperiously. "Is there something I can help you with?"

In fact, if she doesn't stop it happening, one of the dirty homeless girls will get herself tangled in Vesa's tentacles. She giggles and puts one on her head, climbing through them like a spider-monkey. Her mother's fast approaching, as well, trying to catch up with the playful tyke.

[Wandering]
Vesa notices the little girl tangled in her Sensacles and slows, descending gently to the ground and trying to carefully remove the child from the strands.
I would not advise that, child. These are precision instruments and unwise activity with or around them could lead to accidental injury.
If she can get a hold of her, she gently tries to take her from the Sensacles and place her feet-first on the ground.
I believe that is your mother approaching. Please return to her.

[Where the Auditors Are]
As Evan walks, he says, "Then I'm coming down there to run my own test. just a moment."
He'll be there soon, walking with purpose for anybody that cares to see. Once he arrives, he'll ask the Auditor to hold still for a moment before resting his hand on her forehead, and checking for traces of magic left over in her.

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
Assuming Dexter told him that Maxwell is not a human, Andy might notice him. Otherwise He won't but that's not so important right now.
"Yeah. I got a project and I searches for a power source with some special abilities. Non of the sources I know were able to fullfill the task and Dexter told me that you might help me."
I'm still not sure is maxwell only leader of a part of this Org or of the whole.

Jane smiled at the gold. Oh man...making money was such a feeling of euphoria for her that she couldn't describe it in words.
Zero smiles at Nitiri.
"Yay! Testing!"
Zero is just...weird :smalltongue:

Vesa can quite easily get hold of the girl. She doesn't seem to mind, either - she laughs at the harness's bulbous headpiece. "Okay." As her mother catches up, looking at Vesa apologetically, the girl asks, "How come you look like a jellyfish?"
"Heidi! Don't bother the nice people. You shouldn't ask things like that," the mother says, grabbing Heidi's shoulder and looking up at Vesa. "I'm so sorry. She's never seen a place like this before."

When Evan arrives in the Core, Auditor Patricia is loudly telling the Sec team to shove off. The other Auditors look like they're ignoring the exchange, but the unease can be read in their faces.
Patricia looks at Evan angrily. She has a light accent, British maybe. "It was six seconds, pal. Neural scan won't do anything." A neural scan is what she thinks Evan's doing. He'll find no trace of magical radiation anywhere near her.

Dexter projected Maxwell's likeness in a hologram for him, I suppose. He's very distinctive.
"Dexter. Yes, I might be able to help," The machine-man holds out his hand to Andy, expecting some sort of offering that he can examine. "I have to see the project first, Mr. Emeral." With a brain like Maxwell's, employee rosters are instantly available. "I assume you've got some quaint blueprints I can look at?"

"Indeed. What does he... eat, Jane?" Naitiri looks at the blob with a confused expression. They've got nothing like that here.

Vesa reminds herself not to focus too many Sensacles' cameras on the mother; she's learned it scares people.
No offense has been given, ma'am, do not worry. But please remind your daughter not to climb on moving mechanical objects; the danger present there is considerable.
She looks down at the girl.
I look like a jellyfish because of the Harness I am wearing, which was designed as such. Without it, I am... human. She decides not to give the full explanation on her real status.

"...Alright then. What are all his known applications? Do you have a list?" They have to start somewhere. "What sort of quarters would you like, Zero?" The second question is asked with a sweet, almost maternal smile. She's very caring when it comes to her investments.
Halls
"Of... of course," the mother says, confused. If this woman's human, why does she talk this way? "Let's go, Heidi. Leave the nice girl alone."
Heidi doesn't seem satisfied with this explanation, but she goes along with her mother anyway. The girl waves at Vesa before she goes.
A sharp, much more mature voice interrupts whatever thoughts were drifting through Vesa's head. "Gods, what is wrong with these people?" The voice floats from the archway of the Escort store. No wonder Heidi's mom was in such a hurry to move on.
The voice itself belongs to a tall, lush blonde woman, dressed in a tight black suit that doesn't pass her thighs or shoulders. Her name, as Vesa should recall flawlessly, is Melody-23. Standard Escort model, built from scratch, far removed from a normal Rev. Home grown, flawless caramel-colored flesh, beach blonde hair, full figure, and an arsenal built into her arms that could kill twenty men. There are more like her inside - males, females, ambiguous creatures with porcelain skin and alien eyes.
Melody, specifically, is known for having a wicked sense of humor. Her brain-donor's personality rubbed off on her, and no matter how many patches they try, she's still as witty and cruel as ever. Works like the rest, just as diligently, so at this point the tech-heads have just stopped trying. She's advertised as 'Feisty', or at least that's the holo-label Vesa gets when she looks at her. How droll. "That kid looked ready to shove a quarter in and see if you'd give her a ride.

"I can get you a list, yes. But I don't know how much good it'll do you. His body changes everyday. One day his secretions is a powerful pain medication, the other it's perfect for hair gel..."
"Can I live in a normal person's room? With toys and stuff? Please? Can I?"
He's kinda a child at heart.

[The Core]
"Uh huh," Evan says, "Well, perhaps unluckily for you, that's not what I was doing. There's no evidence anywhere on you of any sort of magical residue, radiation or not. That means that what happened was orchestrated."
"Ladies? Take her away. We have reason to believe the good auditor is lying to us."

Melody-23.
I trust you are well; have there been any recent customers worth noting?
Vesa finds the bustier, prettier woman interesting, and asks this sort of question basically every time they meet. She isn't jealous, mostly because she lacks a good understanding of sex drives and doesn't see what the big deal is about having large breasts (balance issues, getting in the way, etc). She is interested in the way people interact, however, and appreciates aesthetic harmony (and probably has done a few sketches of Melody-23).

Re: [Nexus] Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic
[Public Lobby]
A member of the Great Race of the Yith walks into the public lobby of the Elexxion Industries Transhuman Clinic. It's the perfect paradigm of what you'd expect the extraterrestrial, omniscient being to look like. Unfortunately, with my current living situation, I am unable to access any of my stored volumes of compiled works of Lovecraft with which to relate the physical traits of the Yith as descriptively as is possible.
Drat! Here's where I'd link a picture, but I cannot for the life of me track down a decent shot of a Yithian as portrayed in Call of Cthulhu: Dark Corners of the Earth.
Well, here goes nothing!
The colossal alien's husk is a relatively cone-shaped base with four distensible appendages protruding from it. Two of these limbs terminate in claws which are utilized to manipulate objects. One extremity displays four red horn-like organic apparatuses. The other functions as a spherical yellow head upon which three yellow eyes are mounted at regular intervals, with tentacles lining the bottom of the head and flower-shaped ears arrayed atop the head.
Not intent on being the source of a ruction, the seemingly out of place erudite alien shimmies off to a corner of the lobby, obviously awaiting a certain someone or something's admittance to the clinic.
While it finds the procedures performed in this center of healing and fantastic sometimes gaudy ornamentation primitive, it is cognizant of its offspring's choice to mend herself here this evening. The purpose of its visit is to safeguard her through the operation.
She'll be here next post.

Andy hands over a paper. Non of the blueprints since they aren't really the reliable recources. It's a report. A strange one to be true. Easy to read.
It's a power layout and if Maxwell can read i, it tells him about something that needs a good amount of energy. The standard line seems to be quiet low and many energy cells could fullfill that task, but there aare a few larger outburst which would need something stronger and what maybe most important there are outburst who pass the energy scale. So assuming to the normal electricity network the last one might case a electrical short.
"These plans should give the informations needed to make out if your power source is able to fullfill the task. I'm sorry not to show the blueprints first, but there is no point when there is no goal."
