Take your time, don't stress over it. After all, even Mr. Burlew doesn't keep a strict schedule, so no reason to hold yourself to such a standard if it'll be too hard.
We can wait.

Thanks. I finished the artwork; I'll put in the text and post it tomorrow morning.
Well, I promised!
#77: She's Conflicted Too
Hmm...interesting, wonder how they'll solve this one?
Anti-Alavaan...that sounds familiar... Hey, wasn't there some place called Alavaan Plains?
Nice comic.
You do know that Lloyd would have to be 14th level to cast mark of justice, right? Its a fourth level paladin spell. Either that, or Janine could cast it as a fifth level spell, which is probably what will happen.
-Xavez
I don't see this ending well, whether they mean it to or not. :smallconfused:
This is going bad. BAAAAAAAD.
I like where this is heading
Yeah, I'd have to agree. The party may end up protecting the bandits from the people who wanted them gone. Hopefully not in an actual fight, though. I wonder if emnity toward non-humans is so high that the locals would try to frame the bandits for anything (can't help but speculate).
What happened to the pregnant orc chick? You specifically called her out but then i haven't seen her since. :smallconfused:
That Ethan really seems kinda bad guy. He looks to Good and right. And he wears white clothes.
So is Lloyd planning on taking those guys with them? How else would they travel with no supplies?
Or scrolls. :smalltongue:
You'll see!
Ethan is actually a nice person. And Janine likes him too.
But he's racist.
Nice comic. (nods)
It's so ANNOYING when you have a friend with a glaring 'flaw' like that.Quote:

RacismAny flaw isn't a flaw until you can't get over it. Up until then, the flaw is stupidity.
...
I just had a really, REALLY bad conspiracy theory idea about Janine's upbringing/orc problem...
:smalleek:
Well, let's hear it! After the update, of course. :smalltongue:
#78: Not A Bluff Check
Lloyd is going to become a memetic badass, isn't he. XD
Well...
[theory]
SpoilerIf Janine's parents/carers/whatever were racist against orcs, maybe they'd want to instill this in her as well. Maybe at a young age, she got on well with them.
Maybe said parents/whatever used a Control/Dominate effect to make an orc abuse/rape her.
I really hope I'm wrong. That'd be horrible.
[/theory]
Only if you want him to be one!
No. No they did not.Quote:

Read what Ethan says carefully. He didn't know Janine until she was older, but what he says may hold some clues...
Hm.
A: Public Execution is considered a reasonable solution.
B: The dogma of Astrid says this is okay?
I love the smug look on Lloyd's face...
Good to see that the Edict of Toleration isn't as quite flimsy as the hobgoblin father thinks. From Ethan's reaction, the law must have some teeth in it.
Also, we learned something about the justice system: presumably, a human bandit would get the Mark of Justice in this situation (because I doubt the Edict requires anyone to treat Plaavan criminals more leniently than human ones; just to treat them both the same.) So Astrid's clericshave a pretty prominent place in the system; their spells count as official acts of justice.
Or at least one branch of her church says it's okay. When Lloyd disagrees, he still believes he's acting in Astrid's name, so there might be orthodox and liberal factions within the church.
After all, Coffee did draw that utterly badass possible-future scene of Janine battling an older priest of Astrid, both shouting scripture at each other as they fight. Janine's verses were all about mercy and redemption, while the older priest's were about vengeance and supremacy. So it looks like both sides can find support in church doctrine.
I would link the picture, not so much as evidence of a point but simply because it is awesome, and gives hope that Janine can overcome her past and grow up to be the woman in the picture. I'd have to dig through the old threads to find it, though. Coffee, any chance you can place a link to it in the "Extras" section on the front page?
Getting closer...
It's also that Lloyd's going to force the enforcement of this law.
This is more common outside the large cities, but definitely in certain cases.Quote:

Did I mention that I love your analyses? And I'll post all the extra stuff right now! :smallbiggrin:Quote:
