Mine is the white bengal tiger.
Sharks. Any shark. They're fascinating animals. Streamlined, sleek, both elegant and threatening. They've existed virtually unchanged since the Silurian Era.
Dogs are awesome.
And there's a decent amount of evidence to suggest that they helped us to evolve in many ways.
Sheriff: This thread needs a little more substance per post, if it is intended as discussion rather than a message board game.
Birds- Raven.
Terrestrial animals- Lynx.
Aquatic animals- Jellyfish.
Insects- Bees.
Arachnids- Theridion grallator.
Honorable mentions: Hyena, the Potoo, blacksmith bird, Glaucus atlanticus and Pandinus imperator.
Octopi are fascinating. Incredibly intelligent, physiologically bizarre.
Agreed, I like the Cuttlefish slightly more.
There is a theory the have their own visual language. They can put octopi to shame as far as color & texture changes go.
Horned Lizards get honorable mention as well, because shooting blood out of your eyes is Metal.
mantis shrimp, they sport a bright and varied range of colors without being poisonous because they know they can take on anything that would find them tasty. They also have 16 photoreceptors compared to a human´s puny 3. They are overall a really awesome and frankly underated animal.
Personally, I'm rather fond of mustelids and related groups of animals since I had a ferret as a kid and nearly got kicked out of an aquarium (as a child) due to playing with the otters.
At the Zoo?
Bears.
Hibernation is AWESOME!
In Stormbringer?
Melnibonéan Dragons.
The sleep for hundreds of years.
cats, cats, and cats. In fact I have a cat on me right now. I also like falcons and bears and dragons (I have a pet dragon, was a bit hard to train it not to use its breath weapon all the time)
Something about dunkleosteuses. Their odd beak-like jaws with nearly unrivaled bite strength, the absurd amount of armor plating(even in their EYES) and their huge size. <3
Runners up would probably be house cats(especially unusually tiny ones), slow lorises(because they're cute AND venomous) and the saiga antelope(which might be tied with dunkelosteus for me. Something about the trunk on an antelope-like critter is just so cool).
Technically, slow lorises are just poisonous, since they cover themselves with the secretions of their brachial gland, making them unpleasant to eat. They don't have a way to deliver the poison other then licking themselves first. But they do defend themselves by aggressively grooming, so that just makes them cuter.
More on topic, I think one of my favorite birds is the Harris's Hawk, the only social raptor. I've been told that Americans shouldn't go to England to do falconry, as they'll usually just pull out a Harris's Hawk due to them attacking tourists less often the other birds.
Turritopsis dohrnii, the only immortal creature living in our planet.
Cows. Like. COWS.
I used to own approximately 150 cow related items up until the age of 20 – I was moving to another country and managed to lower that to about 50. One of my dearest items is a book that goes through the different breeds. Another favourite is a book that covers the history of cows in Finland.
Almost ended up getting way too serious about dairy farming at one point. That life is really not for me, thinking back.
By that logic, I assume you're a huge fan of Cthulhu?
For purposes of this quiz, I think I'm gonna go with: pigs. I like that the one term covers everything from cute, pink piglets to huge black bristly monsters that could disembowel you with a shake of their head. As a species, they're common, easy to keep, and highly intelligent.
Cows and pigs are the tastiest
African Penguins are really funny looking to me. I like them and Arctic wolves the best.
Hard to say. I love most animals. Except mosquitoes, or fire ants. They can both burn in the Nine Hells.
If I had to choose... wolves. I love their pack dynamics, very egalitarian. Contrary to popular belief, wolf packs do not have an alpha. :) Wolves also care for their injured, sick, and elderly.

This, my friends, is a black-footed cat. Isn't it adorable?
Coconut carrying swallows.

Peacocks are able to eat snakes and poison things without having any problems, nobody is sure how they do it but it's awesome.
This might seem weird, but my favorite animal is Seth Rollins.
I don't think people count as animals ... ? Besides, AJ Styles is waaaaayyyy better.
Favorite actual animal is my cat. Not your cat. My cat.
Used to be wolves, until I turned 13 and realised they're just wild dogs. Dogs are boring, so mark me down for a big ol' pass on that.
Nowadays, I'm a big fan of crabs. I'm particularly partial to Perisesarma bidens, Gecarcoidea natalis, and Ocypode quadrata. Most aquatic creatures don't really do it for me, including some other varieties of crustacean, but crabs are just cool.
What, no mention of the Decorator Crab, the single most fabulous crab?
I would have to say the Human Being. Not any particular individual, nor our species in general, but very specifically the Human Being as represented by the Greendale Community College mascot from Community.
