Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Since Saeyan posted hers here, I think it's okay?
This comic has a very simplistic art style to make it possible to give regular updates. What good is a nose, anyways?
This is my Nuzlocke comic - hosted on DeviantArt, and SmackJeeves as well.
It will update on Fridays, more or less. Since I have to manually update every page, the exact time will vary. I do some extras, and some gijinkas, when I have time and I get ideas.
Well, enjoy!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Okay, to avoid breaking the page I've removed the main comic images. Smackjeeves is a pretty cool browsing site, anyways.
New comics are up!
VS Misty: part 1 and part 2.
Onwards!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Okay, so as it turns out, school has chosen this week to eat me alive. Instead of an actual update, you get crappy filler. I'm working on page 20 - it's kind of complex and has more details than I'm used to (which is to say, it has details).
Please don't kill me.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Still recovering from a torrent of schoolwork - have another scribbly gijinka filler.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Hm. This is certainly an interesting comic, and an interesting art style.

Interesting is good, right? :smalltongue:
Apparently not having GitP available makes me more productive, because I managed to complete Page 20!

Oh, definitely! I like your solution to the whole 'silent protagonist' problem, and the thought patterns your main character has are very enjoyable.
The fact that no one talks gives off an interesting feeling as well.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Haven't finished Page 21, so you get a Reference Sheet instead. Read it, because there are Pidgeottos in the upcoming fight and no dialogue to differentiate which is which.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Hooray! I love Nuzlockes :3
Thanks for posting yours ^^

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
You're welcome, Acanous, and I hope you enjoy this one!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Guess what's finally finished?
Page 21
Check it out! I hope you think it was worth the wait.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Ah, our protagonist clings onto a last hope, I see.

Red does that a lot.
Next page is, as per usual, delayed. I did this instead.

They have to find him first!
Page 23 is up, and only a day late too! In which Red finds the Cut Master, though he's a bit too distracted to realize that at the moment.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Page 24, just a short breather before the gym battle.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Page 25!
Gym battle, full-color evolution, and general kickassery. And it's more or less on-time!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Oh, that's just cheap, Red...
-
Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
He does that. Red's the sort of guy who takes scissors to the Gordian Knot.
I did some more stuff:

Indeed, but it seems this Gordian Knot is far too thick for his scissors. His scissors of walking-around-the-Snorlax, that is. :smalltongue:

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Well, the games won't let you do it. Clearly, it is impossible.
Missed a couple updates. Lemme get you back on track:

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
No, Red, you aren't.
In any case, I'm looking forward to the conflict between Red and Green!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Argh, an update? You must tell us, comrade!

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Ah! Sorry. Lemme link it: http://sosnuzlocke.smackjeeves.com/c...avender-tower/
I thought I'd remembered to do that. Chemistry is killing me here. Anyway. Red and Green show off the full range of their unparalleled ability to be dumb eleven-year-old boys with no sense of social skills, much less where it is appropriate to have a battle (hint: the tower cemetery filled with exposed porcelain urns? Not it).

Ah, those are urns. I though they were in some strange graveyard-pokeshop combination.

Re: Sound of Silence - a FireRed Nuzlocke Comic
Trainers want things to memorialize their Pokemon. Some of them managed to get their Pokemon to Lavender Tower for cremation or even burial. Others have plaques or mini gravestones or incense burners. Some generic items are available for purchase at the counter at the first floor, I imagine, but it's not really a shop.

Ah, I see.

I'm alive! Page 30: http://sosnuzlocke.smackjeeves.com/c...eat-and-small/
Remind me to just give Silph Co ridiculously large corridors and high ceilings or something Putting a small-to-average size Gyarados in standard corridors is a recipe for artistic disaster - trying to put a LARGE Gyarados indoors at all is going to be ridiculous.
EDIT: And a doodle I did. With color! Trainers of Kanto

I must say, I find the image of Red throwing his rodent to be very amusing.
