ATLA: the Promise, part 3 is out (comic book)
and I read it.. it's quite good and starts filling gaps..
nice to see the Gaang together again..
also, I was under the impression that there were going to be only 3 comic books to tell the story inbetween ATLA and TLOK..but apparently there will be at least a fourth, which will be dedicated to.. not sure this falls under spoilers..so I'll tag it anyway

the search for Mrs Firelord, Zuko's mom.
also, hells..

Azula is still super-creepy
of course there aren't really big surprises, what with knowing that it leads up to Republic City's founding and having already read a few comics..but still.. nice
Re: ATLA: the Promise, part 3 is out (comic book)
I think the first spoiler there might be getting covered in a separate miniseries? Same artists different subtitle, that kind of thing.
Re: ATLA: the Promise, part 3 is out (comic book)
you're probably right. the last page of the comic is the cover of next book, announced as part 1 of
"the search"
which will be coming in March 2013
Re: ATLA: the Promise, part 3 is out (comic book)
I'll be honest, I found a fair bit of the Katara-Aang stuff, well, oogie.
I don't think it was the romance per se - I have no problem with the ship itself, and indeed am a moderately active shipper in another fandom. Possibly the constant-nicknames thing is to blame.
I did like the Roku part, the Spoiler

And definitely agreed on your second spoiler.

Does it have Meelo and/or Iroh being awesome in it? Otherwise, I don't think I'll get it.

Ah, no. It takes place about a year after Ozai's defeat, so it's still a ways pre-Tenzin, let alone Meelo. Iroh the First does show up briefly, but he doesn't do much. Lets Zuko recover in his tea shop, tries to invent a new method of tea whose real-world name slips my mind...
