Fun has been had and throughly enjoyed. Let us frolic.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Just shoot yourself in the head guardsman.
Save everyone the trouble.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
The Imperial Guardsman fills a unique niche on the battlefield. Their sole purpose being to draw fire away from the tanks, tanks that are the only reason the Guard is relevant, and to occasionally use weapons that might be able to harm an enemy.

The standard issue Targeting Laser can also, on a roll of at least seven, annoy a target.

That last panel made me think of a goblin army on Warhammer Fantasy charging, tripping over themselves and dying on their own.

Yeeeeah... one of the IG's greatest advantages is just how MANY of them there are.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Add some warg cavalry, and some berserkers. That will help them. Pro tip: no it will not.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Mantra of the Imperial Guard: You will run out of ammo.
Comic 570. Honestly this comic was difficult for me to make.

I find it funny that, with Powers, that really is more effective than firing the tank.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Rand really need to make/find an easy source of healing, considering how often he takes a beating.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
No amount of healing protects you from Major Powers.
And...a day late Christmas Special '12. See if you can spot the hidden Baneblade.

I read the "eleven barrels" first, and I thought the rest would be a "Twelve Days of Christmas" song.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Hay guise
Okay i've been holding onto this for WAY too long.
Check out this game I made with some other people
It's pretty cheap and quick, made in the Unity engine and only good for like...one or two minutes of gameplay, but...I dunno. I think it's pretty fun maybe you guise would like it.
For the record, I developed the art direction of the game, and made the intro/title/win/lose/control screens, game logo, etc. However the graphics glitches, including insane blurriness in the win screen, not my fault I swear.

Nice Christmas-drawing.. but a Banablade hidden??
It's way to BIG to hide:smallbiggrin:
And I can imagine that the last comic was a difficult one to
draw... but with very detailled Empire 40k-stuff :smallcool:

Not for a tactical genius.

Yeah, the blurriness was quite heavy, at least for me. But I did like what the style aimed for, and even though I got completely massacred at it, I enjoyed it.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
From the testing our team did, getting random people to play it, we found that gamers had a hard time playing while casuals or non-gamers found it very intuitive and easy. Bill O'Reiley can't explain that! Personally I find the game very easy, but that's probably 'cuz i'm a dev :smalltongue:
I remember the latest iteration of the game, I gave the programmers the screens, and I was floored by how blurry they turned out to be in the game's release. The explanation I got is that the file needs to be converted into some bizarre format and that it's a miracle the Unity engine can use video at all.
And I wanted to use a Bananablade but Creed would have none of it. :smallannoyed:
Comic 571 is FINALLY up. Sorry for the uber-lateness but IRL hit me hard.
I shall make an Anniversary strip soon.

Imperial guardsmen: So cheap that disposing of them is a net profit.

Nooope. Nothing strange there.
And...Anniversary Special '12. If I wasn't such a lazyass, this comic would have been done MUCH sooner than i'm letting on.
I wanna do 572 next, then AtC 8: Featuring The Betrayer.

Karn I was considering applying to join your attached traitor guard division, but I have some concerns. While I do like your fun party attitude, I'm concerned with your propensity for team killing. Do you have any advice for me?

Paranoic dragon. Right. Like, a normal dragon is not dangerous enough, is it?

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Paranoic Dragons are the WORST. Especially paranoid paranoics. :smalleek:
And Ask the Custodes 8: Failure to Communicate WARNING:It's pretty violent and gorey

I don't understand the warning. This is, at best, PG13, if not PG.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
I was warned by someone (not a mod) to put up a warning just in case
And sorry, 573 isn't up. It's under development should be up later today. For now, though, here's a fairly amusing situation I found myself in playing Pokemon Black with a Randomizer hack. How fortunate for me, because I need an Electric type :smallwink:
Edit: Went to heal my newly-caught Zekrom. He had Pokerus! I am NOT kidding!
For those not in the know, Pokerus is a pokemon disease, that ironically makes them stronger (sort of. It doubles EVs earned in battle.) The chances of finding a pokemon with Pokerus are 1/3 that of finding a shiny (which is a 1 in ~8000) and considering there's no way to tell which pokemon does and doesn't have it, chances are you'll run right past an infected wild. Meaning most players will never be aware of its existence unless they come across a reference to it on the internet. Catching or battling the pokemon contracts the disease.

Where did you find that hack? O_O because a randomizer hack sounds awesome

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Google is your friend
And apparently Imgon doesn't have its upload system working ATM so I have to use this other site instead. Hey, it works and doesn't shrink my images or require me to sign up, so no complaints from this end of the omniverse.
Comic 573 is up
I like where this is going personally, hopefully over the next few comics I can do some recapping without it being too obvious that i'm recapping.
