Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Double post, so apologies, but I finished some more of those templates for thw fun of it. Seeing more detailed versions of characters is fun, and might help for any fans who are artistically inclined.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I do enjoy the more detailed templates!
Greying of the beard looks nice.
Most of all, though, the less-exaggerated, but still identifiable facial expressions look really good on them.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I nominate "Kaga" as the first Orc Librarian, outside of Skyrim (The Orc Librarian in Winterhold).
Shipping, anyone?

Strip 14
Toooooday's update.
The analysis might be a little flawed, of course.

Yay! Story again!

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
She speaks the truth.
It's time for the powerful quest-giver to dump his job on someone smaller, weaker, and far less likely to achieve the all-important task than he is. I love this world.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Egads... this looks heavenly. :D
keep up the good work!

Dear quest giving NPC's everywhere,
We as the players do not appreciate being sent out as little more than glorified messengers or exterminators. We recognize that many of you are not in positions to take care of yourselves, but can you please give it a try instead of waiting for the heroes to show up?
All thanks,
PC's everywhere. :smalltongue:
Sorry, had to get that off my chest. Can't wait for the next comic, I can't wait to see where this goes.

Urge. To. Hug! @_@
*GLOMPs Kagra*
And urge to make fanart, curse you for making me want to do even more art instead of my homework, Darklord Bright! :smallmad::smallsmile:
On another note; Kagra points out an important problem, but I don't think it is the fault of the quest giver. But instead on the quest itself! :Eureka:
My theory is that either the more you know, the heavier it gets until you eventually can't move or everybody is playing a relay race without telling the protagonists. Anything else is just implausible!

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
If you do decide to make Fanart, it'd let me make another section in the OP for it! :smalltongue:

Strip 15
Another brief detour from Kagra and friends.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Lolfailpaladin.
I still see no fanfic takers on that slash pairing. Hm. They're unusually slow.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Yet again, that paladin displays his poor wisdom score.
And likely low intelligence as well.
I do not want to be his partner.

You mean between Kagra and Erik?

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I've been watching this comic for quite some time and it's quite good artwise and storywise. And I have never seen a paladin with wisdom on par with The Belkster. Hilarious.

How about racism and finding justification (even if ubsurd) to sent her back to where she came from? Nice Job Kagra (for attacking a storeowner), now the paladins (and probably the evil elves) are now on her back.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
... And looks like Charisma isn't always the dump stat after all. Here's to our new pals; the paladins. Great comic!

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
...Why does everyone call the guards Paladins when they are clearly guards?
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
It's probably the shield emblem they wear.
Which, also supports the fact that they may be guards anyway.
Maybe they're guards who also happen to be paladins?

Or maybe because we're on a D&D forum and it's our first instinct when we think of dumb warriors?
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I think we've just been conditioned that light blue = paladin.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
We'll just have to wait for the stupid one to do something stupid and get them both into a situation where they have to use their paladin abilities. If they have them.
The fact that the piece of material (I cannot think of the proper word) that they're are wearing over their armour is torn supports the fact that they may be paladins who have shunned material wealth.
But I'm probably looking into it too much.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I believe that's called a tabard, but if I'm wrong I'm sure someone else could correct me on that.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
The problem being that it's not actually a tabard. At least I don't think it is.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tabard
It's so hard to be certain about these things.

Strip 17
Today's double-update.
As for this current line of discussion, check page 13, panel 2.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
LOL. This guy seems like he'll be getting desperate fast.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Thank that he isn't planning to make a ugly backstory with Karga.
P.S- We found another human who is horny enough to find Orc as attractive.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
One has to wonder how often people pass by his farm. Stupid silly farmboy. :)
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Now I am wondering what kind of life that farmkid has had, if it lead to naked-running-through-the-field being the first conclusion to Kagra saying that. X3
I also wonder what the Jaunder story might be, sounds like it is big. Good work, Bright!

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Yay! Double update!
*reads last 1d4+1 chapters to catch up*
Stupid doombook! Kagra'd be all over him if she wasn't holding you for dear life!:tongue:JK.
To be fair, He's not the only one who'd push his luck like that in that kind of situation.:smalltongue:

@First comment: the thing is - we don't know that.frankly, I don't know whether to leave a tongueface for joke or a yuckface to represent barely keeping my lunch down after rereading my remark.
@second comment: I'm sure by the time the story is finished there would be a list-page worth of them.
*sits and wonders if someone will actually make a list*
