Republic of Cardina: A large nation frequently at war with it’s neighbor Radinal over control of the Long Valley. While technically it’s a series of small wars, the intermittent nature of them means the nations are never truly at peace. These wars are generally referred to collectively as “The Long Wars”. These wars are indirectly the cause of much unrest within the nation.
The Directorate: Technically the administrative wing of the Republic of Cardina, the Directorate has essentially taken over the government. Since almost all the posts are appointed by those already in the directorate, the Senate gradually began losing power as the directorate grew larger, until the Directorate took over running the elections. Since then, the senate has danced to the tune of the Director General.
DSF: Domestic Security forces. Technically a national police force, the DSF is very military in outlook and doctrine. The DSF serves a dual purpose, between the wars, it provides a nice place to keep military personnel busy, it also provides a steady supply of recruits for when the war starts up again, since DSF officers already have much of the basic training and indoctrination.
Deefers: a derogatory term for DSF personnel.
Longshots: Soldiers, specifically those who fought in the Long War.
Longcracks: Soldiers who returned from the Long War mentally or physically damaged

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
So far, it looks pretty cool.
Waiting for the next one.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
I like how each side views eachother as faceless. Pretty cool idea, though I almost didn't notice it. I'll be reading to see where this goes.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Now this is certainly going to be a comical, light-hearted story.

I actually thought it was laziness or bad art. That sounds a lot more likely, though.

Indeed. I shall tell the story of a nation in conflict through fart jokes, slapsticks, and puns on the word "Apricot".

The confidence you have in me is truly astounding.
The faceless thing is indeed an intentional storytelling device.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
seems another masterwork of yours is made, BRC.
I'll be Stalking following this :smalltongue:
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Comic #2 is up, it's the most important comic of the day.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
This seems like a good start to a bad emotional moment for both characters...

Indeed
Comic #3 up.
It should be noted that I made this comic and named the character well Before I realized I had introduced a character named Kilroy by having him peek over a wall.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Not yet. To me, guy at the desk is a nameless mook. Just someone James had a conversation with while waiting for his superior. (no name there either)
So you could still do a proper introduction if you want.

As in, I'd made this comic (And he's not at a desk, he's peeking over a cubical wall), and made Friday's comic (Where he is referred to as Kilroy), and then I realized what I'd done.
Commander guy still doesn't have a name though. Maybe his name should just be "Sir".
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
I see.
Sir would be an interesting name. Wonder who'd name their kid that though.

Same guy who named his kid major major major, then had him join the Air Force where he was immediately promoted to the rank of Major.
Edit: maybe Sir is short for somthing, like Sirio (which sounds like it could be a name). Maybe his last name is Knight, so he could be Commander Sir Knight ( I havn't actually decided what his Rank is).
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Comic #4 Up.
Also, check out the incredibly professional looking characters spoiler.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Coolio. Now your comic is obviously professional. :smalltongue:
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Fifth comic up, and thus we reach the end of the daily updates. I'll probably do regular Monday updates from now on.
Also, I have made 3 banners, one of which is just the title shrunk down, as well as one banner supporting the Revolutionaries, and one supporting the DSF. I expect this news will greatly excite all my fan.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
You forgot the [/URL] tag in the code for the last two banners.

Curses, I spent so long trying to get that right.
Edit: any comments about the comics so far while I fix the banners.
URGENT UPDATE: The Directorate reports that, despite the rebels efforts at sabotage, the repairs to the banners are complete. They would also like to remind all citizens that this weeks Comment quota has not been met.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Make the characters' sizes larger. The background tend towards the undetailed side, so maybe give enlarging a try by filling up the frame with more of the character?
Definitely should use a larger dimension for the picture instead of ~582x546 though.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Comic up. Sorry about the layout, it was the best way I could think of to get those walls of text in.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
I'm going to comment so that you don't double post yourself and so that you won't feel lonely.

I think you made an error in the last panel, it looks like she's saying that they won't achieve anything by the riot and then repeating what another person said two panels earlier about how they should join the riot.

Okay, I should have fixed that (Though now the layout is even worse. I need to stop with that wall-of-texting).
I don't know what's worse, that I made such a stupid mistake, or that it took so long for somebody to point it out.
Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
I'm probably your number 1 non-lurk fan, and I don't pay attention to grammar and spelling that often.

Yeah but this wasn't that, this was me copying a speech bubble and forgetting to put in the new dialouge.
Speaking of which, I should be doing better on my Buffer building over my winter break...

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Some of the panels seem to be cut off.

Re: Rebellion|Revolution: A Webcomic
Why is she spraying red spray paint into that guy's face? :smallconfused:

I couldn't decide whether or not she was using red paint or pepper spray, thanks for deciding for me.
Why? To incapacitate him temporarily (paint in the EYES) so somebody can stop him before he pulls out a gun/hits them with his nightstick/goes for help in an annoying security guardish fasion.
