"Seems.....cozy? Looks like a fun hole to go down in.
I'm going to walk somewhere in the middle of the group.
Maple, could you go first perhaps? You're the smallest and your fighting wont suffer from the low ceiling."
Brin shakes her head, she could probably fit inside without being hampered too much... "I think going in on their terf is not very wise, we do not know how long the tunnels go and we may get lost. Why don't we wait out here and set traps for them this evening, I am sure you know how to conjure light, though Fermor and I have no need of such spells."
Fermor shakes his head. "What if these *ARE* kobolds? None o' us saw them for even more 'an a second. We don't know anything. So..." He slides into the hole, and walks along on hands and feet, ready to jam everything up with his towering shield, if it requires it.
"These folk are most like to be friendly... Maple? Could'a 'ave yer expertise?"
Spoiler
YAY FOR A LACK OF SANITY.
Fae'l looked down the hole before Fermor goes in and looks at the group afterwards. "I could be somewhere near the back, maybe 4th or 5th in?" She didn't like the thought of going in either in case these small creatures were hostile but then again they needed to save those turkeys. "Also if anyone needs light I can oblige."
Maple
Pointing at the chitin,
"Hey Alistar, have you ever come across this strange shell before? Something about all this makes me feel uneasy..."

Alistar picks up one of the shells, smelling it and giving it a quick look over. "Some kind of bug. Centipede maybe? Nasty buggers, you don't want to let 'em bite ya'. Probably pretty big too, I'd say about your size." He glances over at the hole. "Honestly, I'm not sure going down there is the greatest idea. But if we do, perhaps I should go first. The height shouldn't be much of a problem in my wolf form, and I might be able to sniff things out."
Fermor nods, and slides back out of the hole. "Sounds like a plan. I'll go in after than, then perhaps Maple? Ya seem to be able to g' in pretty easy, lass, which'd be nice."
Brin shakes her head "Well I will tell you all right now, I am not going in to some cramped tunnel which I have no knowledge of to be assaulted by little blue men with 'murderdarts'. You all can feel free to go in there and most likely get ambushed. Only Maple and Alistair can really fight effectively down there, I say we smoke them out like Fermor suggested."
Maple
"Sounds like a plan. Just light up my Buckler and Alister and I will head down. Though can we get some ropes attached to us in case something bad happens?"
Roqoan
"We don't know how deep the tunnels go, so i don't know if they can't be smoked out. But i fear that we're going to have to go in there anyway.
Even if we smoke some of them out, we'll need to go in there to make sure there aren't any more of them. Or to see what they have down there, turkeys, prisoners or loot.
And if we try to smoke them out, but they refuse to come out we will have warned them about an impending attack. And maybe the turkeys will suffocate.
If you feel like that's worth the risk, we can try to smoke them out for an hour and after that we go into the hole."
Chanting and preforming the appropriate rites Fae'l places the light on Maple's Buckler, only concerned slightly that she could not do more then that. "Be careful, chasing anything into it's den is a risky thing. You may encounter more then you bargained for."
Maple
"True, perhaps a few more defenses may be nice. Fermor, do you have any enhancement spells prepared today you could lend to Alistar and I? Prioritize Alistar as he is strong but his defenses could use some improvements."
SpoilerSo, anyone want to lend some buffs?
Fermor nods. "I'll go in first. I'm small enough to be moderately movable in there, and I'm by far the most heavily armored."
Spoiler
Mage Armor to you. I'll give a Strength if and when you need it. I also have Obscuring Mist, if need be.
As the group discusses, the gobbling noise from the hole picks up. It's definitely a turkey, and somehow, the noise is conveying distress and pain.
Maple
"Well, off to save the turkeys. Let's go Alistar!"
Maple jumps down into the hole and cautiously wanders inside.
SpoilerMaintaining Total Defense.
Brin sighs as she watches the tiny woman depart into the tunnel Foolish girl... don't die because I am not going down there to get your body... Shrugging off her gloom she wanders around the hut in search of flowers and or insects, especially bees since they do wonders for a garden!
SpoilerI guess perception and profession gardening are in order

Alistar
Alistar waits a moment for anyone who wants to cast any enchantments on him to do so, and then changes back into a wolf. He cautiously follows Maple down the hole, doing his best to find any scents.
Spoiler
There was talk about buffs. If anyone wants to cast them, go for it. If not, Alistar is heading down the hole.
Rolling for Survival and Perception to see if Alistar can get back on the scent/trail of the things down here. Also, I don't know how much help Low Light Vision would be right now, but that's a thing Alistar has.

SpoilerMage Armor on Alistar. +4 AC
Fae'l sat next to the hole they crawled into and looked down it to watch their progress. She was disappointed she could do no more then make a light for them and sighed hoping they would be okay.
BRIN
SpoilerYou find some decent wildflowers. Looks like the Hut guy also has a garden behind the place... It's not neat or ordered, and there's a TON of weeds in there. You recognize a few common sources of alchemical reagents.
FAE'L AND ROQOAN
SpoilerThe group vanishes down into the hole, and passes out of your sight as they head down the tunnel. A few minutes later, you hear high-pitched voices yelling and hear metal on metal!
EVERYONE ELSE
SpoilerYou creep through the tight tunnel. Fermor has the most trouble... Still, he's been through tighter back in his homelands.
You eventually emerge into a large, low-ceilinged room, and the light spell uncovers many, many big-eyed little blue creatures standing in a semi-circle, about fifteen feet away from the entrance. A few of them are holding centipedes that are almost as big as they are. They wear rags and common household items as armor... One's got a cushion strapped to its chest, another has a colander on his head. Their weapons are either improvised or jagged, rusty pieces of metal.
Behind them, a turkey is strapped to a stolen fencepost. Blood shines on its breast, and the blue thing next to it points a broken garden rake toward you and screeches!
That's when they start to rain a shower of metal jagged bits and giant centipedes upon you...
ALISTAR AND MAPLE
Spoiler1 HP of damage apiece from lucky hits.
TURN 1
Starting Positions
Alistar, Fermor, Maple - At entrance to room
3 Giant Centipedes - Right the heck next to you.
A whole bunch of little blue guys - Fifteen feet away, in a semicircle around you.
Maple
Maple, although a bit annoyed by the lucky hit against her forehead, decides to check and see if these creatures are evil.
"So, Alistar, have you ever seen anything like these guys before? Or you Fermor. And I'm not referring to those oversized bugs."
SpoilerStandard Action: Detect Evil
Roqoan
"Yelling and metal on metal, sounds like fighting!"
Roqoan sticks his head into the hole and yells: "Need help there guys? Do we need to come into the hole or will you come out with enemies following you?"
Roqoan casts Light on his signet ring in case they need to go into the hole. He also takes his crossbow making sure it's loaded.
Alistar
One of the bits of metal scratches against his side, but Alistar barely reacts. He instead begins slowly backing toward the entrance to the cavern, growling and snarling the whole way.
Spoiler
A Nature roll to see if I can tell what they are yet, and an Intimidation roll to see if I can scare them into backing off.

Edit: Apparently, if Alistar is significantly bigger than these things in his wolf form, he gets a +4 to intimidating them.
Also, I notice that I actually took Sylvan as a bonus language on a whim. Might be it actually becomes useful here!
Fae'l backed away from the hole drawing her own crossbow. She wanted to make sure to give anyone coming out space so that they would not be bunched up.
SpoilerDrawing crossbow and moving 10ft back from the hole.
Fermor
Fermor yells as if he had been stung "Ack, dang ye you wee buggers, never make a dwarf angry underground! By the beard of my ancestors, I shall strike ye down with the furry of us mountain folk... ef I mean wolfman shall strike you down in my honour!" Fermor begins to chant in a sluggish grunting tone whilst wiggling his stubby fingers then reaches out his stumbly limg to touch the body of Alistar.
Spoiler
Casting bull's strength (will move if I have to if he is in front I will cast defensively... I hope he isn't in front because that is a silly move for any caster) for a +4 to Mr.Wolf now eat them all!

THE HOLE CREW
Spoiler
The cat-sized centipedes they threw at your feet keep trying to climb your legs and bite you. They're not having much luck at it, though it's starting to get annoying.
The angry little blue guys continue to throw junk at you. Friendly fire from them is starting to inflict some pain on the centipedes, though none of them have died yet. The junk rains off of your armor/protective spells/thick hide.

MAPLE
SpoilerThere is evil present. Quite a bit of it. You feel something like a twinge of divine annoyance. You get the sense that your goddess might be the teeniest bit annoyed that she has to confirm for you that YES, the guy who was TORTURING THE TURKEY is, in fact, evil. Come on now, who does that sort of thing besides evil psychopaths?
ALISTAR
SpoilerWhatever the little guys are chattering in, it doesn't seem to be Sylvan.
EVERYONE ELSE
Well, the sounds are continuing. You can't see anything from your current angles and positions, though.
Brin mutters angrily at having her flower picking interupted, couldn't they slaughter the little beasties quietly? Figuring it would be silly to even try to enter the same hole, Brin looks for another entrance underground in an attempt to catch the little ones off guard.
