Not too far from the Edge of the Lake
Copi smiles at Kitty and walks over. "Hello, Kitty. Is there a special occasion, or is the occasion for cake the cake itself?" Sometimes you have a cake because of a reason, and sometimes cake because cake.

"Some weird... guy just showed up out of nowhere. He ended up giving me this 'unbirthday cake'. Pretty weird, but the cake is very good." The kitsune shrugs.

"Ah. Well, as long as nothing unfortunate or otherwise bad happened in addition that is a positive event, even if perhaps it was a confusing one. Are you feeling well?" Copi will go and sit down across from Kitty, but will not seem to want any cake herself.
[Not too far from the Edge of the Lake]
"Kinda hungry." Kitty takes another fork full of the half eaten cake and puts it in her mouth. "Oh, and I never told you that I met this guy named Reinholdt that lives here. He's great."

Copi hmms. "I am aware of a few people with that name, one of which has a long history of being... less-than trustworthy. With some luck, this Reinholdt isn't him. But please, feel free to tell me if you want to."
[Not too far from the Edge of the Lake]
"I don't know anything about that. He seems like a nice guy as far as I've seen." Kitty says. And he's really hot... not that that's overly important of course. <.< She decides that's best kept to herself.

"Well, I presume I don't need to tell you to be careful. You've lived in the Nexus, you know it's full of bizarre things." Copi looks toward the lake, which is frozen right now due to it being cold out. "Of course, I might be simply overly paranoid in this case; I have found some paranoia to be healthy in any situation but knowing just how much to apply is nigh-impossible. It is hypothetically true that walking down the street could get you eaten by a mimic disguised as a mailbox, but you can't go about avoiding mailboxes just on that off-chance. It's a matter of statistics, risk vs. benefit, and each person's personal danger tolerance. Now that I think about it, the Nexus is more or less the worst possible place for anyone with a severe paranoia disorder; literally anything could be dangerous, including things that are completely invisible and intangible or things that you can never have thought of due to their immensely alien nature."
...
"That's why It's important to have paranoia in moderation."
Not Too Far From The Edge of the Pool
There's a tapping coming from the water. It's quite desperate tapping, too. It's in relatively deep water; thigh-deep rather than over-head-deep, but it's still quite a distance out. It's possible that it can't be heard.
I hope it is, though.

"I'd like to see the sea. Or at least this lake." Mackerel is familiar with the concept, but not the reality; Sea Elves are exclusively marine, and few travel far enough away from the coast that they can't see the sea.
[Not too far from the Edge of the Lake]
"I don't really worry about things. What's the point, right? I mean, be careful and don't do dumb things, but don't worry." Kitty says.
Her attention is pulled away by the tapping noise. "Do you hear that?" She puts her fork down and stands. She listens for where it could be coming from, taking a few steps closer tot he lake.
Not too far from the Edge of the Lake
After a moment, Copi also stands. "I do, now that I'm listening for something." She heads toward the lake, trying to listen for where exactly the noise is coming from, and trying to sense any minds that might be under the ice.
Under the Ice In the Lake
The tapping is coming from something under the ice. Copi can sense a mind; a panicked one, trying to hack through the ice before the oxygen in the water runs out. It's a risk, in winter- the ice stops the water and the air from mixing, trading carbon dioxide and oxygen. It's how water stays oxygenated at night, when the water plants are making more carbon dioxide than they're using.

"Thank you, I'm sure anything we can find would be fine."
Yuki isn't overly concerened about how she dresses, and anything that fits will be fine with her. She will follow Sophie to the main cabin. Every now and then when they come to a section with deeper snow Yuki flaps her wings to move over the snow hovering just a few inches above it. She has been practicing and has already feeling stronger in her wings.
[Not too far from the Edge of the Lake]
Kitty starts moving toward the tapping before Copi can even confirm that it's worth noting. She pinpoints it fairly easily with her keen hearing and nibly picks her way across the ice toward it.
Not too far from the Edge of the Lake
But on the lake as opposed to on the shore.
"Someone is stuck," Copi states. She forms a psychic limb into a large drill and drills into the ice, trying to form a hole for whatever is down there to swim to. She's being careful so that there's no real chance that the unfortunate soul will get hit by the drill.
Not Too Far From The Edge Of The Lake, On The Ice
Under the ice is a pretty young marsh goblin, with green skin and hair of a darker shade. Her ears are large, but still small for a goblin, and she has gills in her neck. She's holding a round pebble in her webbed hand, and when she sees Kitty she smiles. Then, she hears the drill and swims easily towards where it is, ready to climb out when it's complete.
[On The Ice]
Kitty hurries after her to Copi's side. All she can do now is wait for the goblin to be freed.
[Main Cabin]
After a bit of searching and maybe a little bit of modifying Yuki picks out some clothing that fits her. A pair of flannel lined jeans that are a bit to big, but are held up with the help of a old leather belt. A heavy red and white checkered sweater and a wool jacket that was made for someone with wings are also added to her wardrobe. A pair of short brown leather boots and some heavy wool socks finish off her outfit.
[Med Lab]
"A potentialdesigned naniteto infestationattack that'scomputers not people... I think." Reinholdt says flickering five feet to the left and few seconds into the past as there's briefly two of them before the other disappears.
On The Ice
The drill should be fast, and once done it will simply disappear. Copi will give the goblin a moment or two to pull herself out of the water, but will reach in using some psionic limbs if it seems necessary.

On The Ice
"Thank you for your help. I didn't realise the ice was so thick, else I'd have moved from my summer accommodation a while back. My name's Myrim, by the way." The Marsh Goblin smiles as she clambers out onto the ice. Her limbs are quite slender, and she's barefoot and dripping wet, so the first thing she does is start heading across the ice to the shore. Unlike ducks, she can't walk on ice with no ill effect, and webbed toes means she has difficulty finding shoes, as does the fact she's self-sufficient when it comes to food, dresses, and until recently, housing, so hasn't gone shopping or acquired money. She's wearing a sleeveless dress made of woven water weed that reaches about half way down her thigh. It's not very suitable for winter, as Marsh Goblins are a slightly more tropical species than GLoG's lake and she's never needed anything thicker or more covering.
[On The Ice]
Kitty hurries to keep up with Myrim. "Uh, I'm Kitty. Don't you have any shoes? And something warmer to wear? They have some clothes for people to use here." She says, sounding faintly baffled about the whole thing.
On The Ice
"You should definitely get indoors in any case. Too cold of temperatures can be permanently debilitating for most anyone, and it appears to casual inspection that you are not used to cold weather."
That's a nice way to put it, Copi. An infinite fountain of tact, except for when she is not.
On the Ice
"No, no shoes. They're really uncomfortable; when I was the pet of a City Elf, she made me wear shoes sometimes. They really cramped my toes. Yes, I'll go inside. I need to dry off; I know that being wet makes it colder." That's something observable in a swamp; all it needs is a breeze. She's headed for the main cabin, as she knows there's beds there.
[On The Ice => Main Cabin]
Kitty still looks concerned. Myrim sure is casual about being trapped beneath the ice. "Alright then. Are you sure you're going to be okay?"
