Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
"Sneaking, stealing, shooting, unlocking, and NOT being named after an article of clothing." Justin answers, the tiniest bit of edge in his voice after being called jumpsuit. "Call me Blondie, if you're not interested in my real name. What good are you short-stack?" he asks. Reaching into his bag, he wriggles out a bag of sugary candy.

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Nycca blinks behind her shades.
Great.
Now two people would be bickering constantly with the gnome. Exactly what this adventure needed.

Trapsmith. Daggermaster. Assassin. Locksmith.
The svirfneblin drinks a large gulp of coffee.
Name's Polliwopple Graveltoes.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
"Nice to meet you Polliwopple. I'm Justin." he sticks out his hand for a handshake. "I'm not a bad knife-man myself. Haven't done it in forever, though." No problem with a little healthy group bickering. Builds bonds.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Polliwopple's face changes abruptly from angry and defiant to confused.
Why is this person acting nice? Never happened before.
What is this? Some kind of trick?
((Oh yeah, here's his bio.))
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
"Umm, no?" Justin asks, unsure of why he's so angry. He looks at his hand curiously. Was he wearing a joy buzzer? No. He wasn't. "Does your culture not have handshakes? That's happened a few times before."
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Don't try and fool me! You're trying to get my fingers!
Polliwopple lifts up his left hand, which has its little finger and ring finger missing.
I know a finger-cutter when I see it! Don't try 'n pull a fast one.
The svirfneblin gnashes his teeth.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Finger Cutter? What? That's the first time he's ever been called something like that. "What's a finger cutter?" he asks innocently. "I don't have any blades on me," he adds pulling up his sleeves, revealing nothing but his arms and his pip-boy on his left wrist. "And we're going to be working together, why the hell would I want your fingers?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Wait!
This isn't a bluff with a forest!
This is Trog's Tavern!
Seems the Dreamer snapped back to 'reality' again.
And just in time, too! The drow didn't get soaked by the incoming tide.
"Huh, back here again?" the young man muses as he take a notepad from a nearby octopus and examines it. The numbers on the pad are complete gibberish and they don't seem too content to hold still.
"Yep. Fourteen cakes, easily."
The nearby bickering party-to-be is regarded curiously by the totally normal human who seems to be surrounded by oddness.

He turns to Human Male. "Come, Sir. There are better places than this for us to get acquainted. Cleaner places."
And with that, he'll attempt to lead Human Male away from Trog's and towards the Sitar's Strings in the Inside thread.

Her rambling seems to go off on a tangent as she goes to follow the pair, but Samuel holds her by the arm and shakes his head. Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Meli's face brightens in understanding at Louis explanation, quickly writing a reply.
"Oh, that is a very good idea. Is it common in your world?"
Meli is a bit hesitant about writing the last question, paying close attention to Loui's reaction. It seems a bit rude to ask, but Meli is quite curious.
Meanwhile, at the table of adventure, Lewis returns with a mug of a mysterious liquid, bought at the bar to inspect the swirly colours and enchanted froth in the bottles on display before choosing.
"Who is trying to steal fingers? Is it the Hundred Years' War on Thunderhead?"
Sipping the unknown drink, the Pixie keeps an eye out for looks of confusion or recognition on Polliwopple and Justin's faces. An eerie glow comes from the drink, but its drinker seems optimistically unaware of the proper caution to take for the menu in Trog's.

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
A rather tall woman with short brown hair, wearing black mage's robes, with a complex dark grey and purple pattern on them, and a large leather bag, much like a computer case, over one shoulder, enters.
Approaching the table with the adventurers at it, she smiles at Nycca, going to take a seat next to her, should there be one available.
Meanwhile, on the other side of the tavern, Tirin remains quiet for now, the recent fighting having apparently made him a bit twitchy, judging by the way he's examining anyone who gets near them.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Nycca grins at Talina, pulling a chair out for her.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Talina returns the grin, taking the seat with a grateful nod, and going to slip an arm around the Molossa.
"So, this is the group, then?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Yep!
Polliwipple, Abraxus, um... I didn't get his name... and Lewis.
She indicates the the gnome, half-orc, human, and pixie in turn.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Talina gives each of them a nod of acknowledgment, smiling.
"Nice to meet you. I'm Talina."
((I think it's your turn in Mallside?))
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Katsu rising about half a metre in the air to bow to Talina, skilfully avoiding losing any of the glowing drink. Grinning beneath the now-pushed-up-on-the-forehead pilot's goggles, Katsu greets the intrinsically-robed mage.
"Lewis Wyllt, Pixie, car mechanic and explorer. Great pleasure to meet you too, Talina"
Floating back down, the Pixie takes another sip of the drink. This time suddenly twitching and giving the mug a look of surprise. It has suddenly been covered in frost, even turning Lewis' breath to mist.
Seems it was a very literal-minded Wizard Blizzard.

The gnome snorts and sips his coffee. You're the mage? We're happy to meet you, unless your personality says otherwise.
He turns away from Blondie. Little rat's prob'ly tryin' to get my whole hand!

Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
"Yes, I am Abraxes Foxwood. You are the mage to be joining us, then?" The question answers itself, since she wears mage's robes. He glances around the table. "So...is this our motley crew? No men-at-arms (aside from myself), no proper archers?" He shakes his head. "I suppose that's of no matter, at this point. Are you about ready to leave, Madam?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Almost... I heard one other person was coming.
((As such, I hope BR gets on soon...))
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Yup, you're the meat shield, orcky.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Not necessarily. She could just find them more comfortable.
"I am the mage," Talina says, glaring at the gnome, who may find himself being shoved rather hard against the back of his chair. "And you are the one who needs to stop trying to antagonize the rest of the group, yes?"
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Ooof! The gnome leaps up and stands on the table.
Listen hear, wizard. Keep your spells away from us, 'n we won't hurt you back.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Excuse me, but you're the one who's antagonizing everyone.
You want to be in on this, then get off the table and calm down.
Nycca frowns, her wings tightening against her back.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Fortunately, Nycca intervenes before Talina has a chance to do anything further, so he doesn't end up being held against one of the rafters; for now, the mage simply stays quiet, letting her more level-headed girlfriend handle the situation for now.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
The gnome twitches and slowly sits down, sipping his coffee.
S-sorry.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
The half-orc glares at Polli, but Nycca's scolding seems to cool him down. "So, there is another coming? Do you know who - or what - this other is?" They've had an odd group so far. Who knows, maybe the next person coming would be a dragon?
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
I... have no idea who they are, actually, so it'll be interesting to find out.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Lewis, surprisingly enough still holding the frozen mug, smirks as Abraxes speaks. Responding with a tone indicating that the Pixie knows something the half-Orc does not.
"I wouldn't be so sure about lacking men-O-arms if I were you, granola."
Taking a large gulp of the freezing Wizard Blizzard, and shivering with cold, Lewis gives Polliwopple a friendly smile.
"D-don't b-be sorry, most beans would be jumpy if people are after their fingers. At least if they are not Pixies or Trolls, from my experience."
The hippie-looking Pixie says, adding the last sentence in an anecdotal manner.
-
Re: [Nexus] Trog's Tavern CCXLIII
Polliwopple looks up and raises an eyebrow in confusion.
Pixies can still lose fingers in a reasonable trap, just make it a little smaller.
