Oh, there's no doubt she has an ulterior motive of some sort.
But the Souballo Empire? I find that unlikely.

So we're thinking there's another unnamed major power moving that Emily is part of? I suppose that's possible, though we have no other indication and while there are lots of plot threads moving, I'm not sure I'd say there's lurking shadows beneath the pattern they weave.
Someone or something paid/summoned/otherwise encouraged the Erinyes to appear too. Not linking Emily to that someone, but just saying.
Welp while his forums are down we'll just have to talk here I guess :smallyuk:
Update: Rogonandi emailed me...
"Here’s an update...apparently the website hasn’t crashed, just I can’t access it with my IP. I used a proxy IP and (for the most part) the website works just fine (though not the forum, that’s still down.) It’s like the web server that I’m using has locked my IP address out somehow. I can only access the page using a proxy IP...did someone hack something at the site to prevent me from accessing it..? "
Sounds like he's working out the bugs. Any ideas?
Recent developments would seem to indicate that Emily is not evil and just racist. I thought as much.
Though I like what they say about the tent.
Yeah, I like the comic-book format he chose for that tent scene.
I doubt he'd write in another Erinyes fight so quickly after the last one, but it IS her mission to take out Jordie (even if she doesn't know it), so maybe we'll get a cool night-fight-scene.
I dunno whats with people apparently hoping Emily is a double agent. If everyone in the world who was racist against elves would be against the party, I'm pretty sure they'd have entire dwarves countries after them. Shes already sacrificing enough of her spells helping them as it is, honestly I woudnt put up with wasting so much time, energy and xp on Phantom Steed just because my allies are too cheap to buy horses. I also like that only the girls are looking at Emily in that detect evil panel, like the boys dont even give a crap.
Angelika's jealousy and Julie's suspicion makes it easy to see why.
Also, we finally see what was up with that Erinyes. Rematch time! Also, Jordie has stats!
Nice update! This should hopefully be a longer, more strategic battle. I know one of the "complaints", if you could call them that, was that Joyelle didn't seem to use the full complement of an Erinyes's abilities to their maximum. We know Joyelle doesn't have Charm, but instead has a different ability which will possibly surface in this coming fight. Should be exciting. :smallamused:
So dimensional anchor is the spell. An odd choice, but for a hunter it makes sense. Funny that Jordie cast it on her as well, so I guess that means she's toast. I'm still not sure how the people on the ground are going to be able to handle the two bearded devils. Angelicka has to step up her game here.
And she has only gotten worse at strategy since the last encounter :smallamused:Quote:

Actualy, there isnt much that keeps Joyella from just disapering out in the darkness if it gets to hard, though i doubt she is smart enough to recognise it.Quote:

And beardet devils are kinda weak on their own, if a few ladies would stop wasting their time on ranget attacks, and instead give Rocky som flanking support, then they would allready be dead.
Update!
That was a pretty awesome battle
Now that's a nice-looking tribunal. I'm not sure I recognize half the races in the stands.
This seems like a serious trial if royalties are taking the role of prosecutor and defender. And a Solar as judge (although she seems a bit simple...)
Thomas Stratus certainly knows how to talk in public... I'm sure his nice, outgoing personality can only play in his favor.
Rogonandi described the Solar Butterfly in the forums as being the chaotic version of a Solar Angel. Her aloofness may attribute to her chaotic nature. In fact, I'm going to ask that :smallwink: In general, the higher-decorated or colored the character, the seemingly-more-badass the NPC's abilities. The Solar Butterfly surely doesn't disappoint and I'm eager to see this courtroom explode into a flurry of spells, abilities, and whatever.
Because who doesn't like a little chaos? :smallamused:
Is it just me, or does anyone else feel that the members of the jury are all subtle parodies of popular characters?
Update!
The Empire is coming and their plan to blame on the wizard has failed.
Angelika sure isn't helping about the "idiot savant" stereotype for sorcerers...
I have no idea what Julie just cast and I'm not exactly pleased she had to perpetuate that meme some more. It doesn't even fit remotely the setting. Gah... :smallfrown:
Haha I'm in the same boat. Song doesn't bother me, but it would have been nice to see the name of the spell in the lyrics.
All in all this will hopefully be a fun dungeon delve with some tougher monsters showcased. A six person party with two healers should be challenged.
It's hardly a perpetuating of a mame, it's a perpetuating of the song. The "meme" is to take the song's lyrics and slightly adjust them, whereas right here she just sings part of the song.
I will agree, however, that the insertion of it seems awkward. If it had some relevance to the situation it could work as a cute reference, but it's just kind of there. Heck, if it was a reiteration of the meme and changed the lyrics to better reflect the situation somehow, its inclusion would make more sense.
Ah well, I still thought it was kind of funny...
Okay... confusion is definitely the one spell any spellcaster need to pick.
Not for its efficiency... but just for the hilarity potential.
All sorts of exciting stuff happening and nobody is saying anything? Go read it! Someone is still insane, someone is mysteriously powerful, and someone is dying!
Shew, it got a little scary there. I didn't think Angelicka had died or anything, but I wondered how they'd get out of this unscathed...though that's still up in the air I suppose. Too bad she's lost her items, but I suspect this conflict between the two parties is not over.
Is it just me, or has the dialogue in the last few strips been even clunkier than usual?
