"We need to head in the direction the rockets came from," Wenomir says. "Maybe we'll find whatever it is that's shooting them."
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Where did the third drake go? It just got eviscerated by the shot from the zeppelin. There's not much left of it after that.
Meanwhile, the other two are coming around for another sweep. One gets hit by beam and plummets, screeching all the while.
The last one comes right for Cessie at high speeds. It raises its claws to grab her as it slams into her, at least that's the intention. It doesn't look like it cares about the fire elementals there, so intent is it on getting to Cessie.
[Snowy Plains]
"Well, rocket-looking things, anyway. But yes, it's as good a plan as any. I'll try not to miss if more get shot at us." Hill begins moving in the direction the weird rocket thing came from...
After putting another plasma bolt into the crashed one just to be safe, of course.
(Posting again since there's really not much to do with those last two posts of ours...)
[Snowy Plains]
As they start moving in that direction they are bound to see the 'rockets' crash site. It looks like something silvery is moving over there. The rumbling is awfully close now however, in the distance they can see something huge moving about. It looks to be vaguely shaped like a tank but without a turret.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cessie fires of another fire beam, aiming straight for the dragons head this time. If that doesn't stop it, she have a backup-plan. If it comes too close, the elementals will attack and the sorceress will simply reverse the fly spell.
Instead of making her fly, working against gravity, it works with gravity, pushing her towards the surface quickly, dropping her out of the sky as the drake is about to ram into her.
[Snowy Plains]
Wenomir grips his axe tightly and quickens his pace, moving away from Hill and approaching the silvery thing from another direction.
Rock Clearing
Vincent sighs internally. This is going to hurt.
With a scream, he charges forward with his flaming sword to attack the thunder beast. Sure, he's trying to finish it off before it gets to full power, but I can't imagine the shock they're going to take is going to be light as it is.
Rock Clearing
Okay, Catoline is clawing and biting, and Vincent powerslices the beast, but that's not quite enough to stop it. The beast roars as the powerful current flows throughout its body, likely blasting Catoline right off its back with the force of the shock. Then the beast lunges at Vincent, nearly as fast as the lightning flowing through it.
[Snowy Plains]
"You check that out, I'll keep an eye on that...thing." Assuming Wenomir is in fact checking out the silvery thing moving by the crash, Hill will let him, and use that zoom feature in his helmet to get a better look at the 'tank'.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cornelia's eyebrows shoot up as Cessie drops from the sky. Was that intentional? She can do nothing but start the zep forward again and look concerned, eyeing the only drake that remains. Nelia's still trying to relax after blowing that first one away. She's never fired a gun that big before. It was... fun.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
The drake shifts so it takes the blast of fire to the shoulder rather than the head, but it's still pretty badly burned. Cessie's dropping out of the air is all that stops it from grabbing her. It's not done with her yet, however, as it keeps going and quickly turns around for another swoop at the mage.
Cornelia isn't quite right about how many drakes remain. The one that fell earlier is still alive, just injured. It's too low for her to get a good shot at, but she'll see it start flying away. It seems it's decided the fight wasn't worth it.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
The two fire elementals will attempt to cling on to the drake as it attempts to fly after Cessie. She will drop quickly however, going straight downwards with the help of the combined forces of eldritch and terrestrial forces (AKA gravity). She's aiming to keep such speed until she get's closer to the ground, then she will quickly reverse the pull to land gently on the ground. Hopefully the trees would offer her some protection from the drake if the elementals hadn't been able to deal with it by then.
[Snowy Plains]
As Wenomir approaches the crash site he will see that a great silvery mass rising from the impact site and will like a great snake start to quickly slither towards the demon hunter. If he got any silver on him it will start to shine now.
Hill on the other hand will see that the 'tank' in fact seem to be made of the same material as the rocket. It's also not at all constructed like a tank but more like a gigantic land based aircraft carrier. There is no kind of take-off ramp though, instead objects looking very much like the one he just shoot down emerge from the sides of it. A whole swarm of them can be seen flying just above it.
[Snowy Plains]
As it happens, Wenomir took silver throwing daggers instead of adamantine ones for this mission. Both as a demon detector and anti-demon weapon. He produces one of the daggers and throws it at the snake-like thing quickly.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cornelia certainly won't give chase after the wounded drake. Even if she possessed such vicious intent toward what she believes to be a wild animal, Cessie has drawn all her attention. She watches, terrified, as the mage plummets. This is simply mad.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
The drake thrashes with its tail to try and dislodge the elementals. At the same time, it slips through the branches of the trees. It's coming right for Cessie again despite the elementals.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cessie had really though that after all this bother the drake would just give up. There were a couple of options here but the sorceress preferred evasion before shielding and thus she pushes herself out of the way once the creature is about to strike, landing gently deeper into the forest. She dismisses the two elementals though, not wanting to start a forest fire.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cornelia coaxes the airship forward, trying to get a better look at the forest below. She strains over the viewing port, searching for signs of the sorceress.
((*pokes the both've you toward Frescot House*))
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Freed of the elementals, the drake is able to take a more careful approach. It gets a bit of height above the mage and weaves its way expertly through the surrounding branches. Cessie won't be able to move far before it descends from above, it's long tail reaching to cut at her, even though it's larger body might have more trouble getting close.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
Cessie isn't moving away this time, apparently that wasn't the solution. Instead, freed from the effort it took to maintain the two fire elementals she summons a earth elemental to act as her shield. The creature will attempt to shield the sorceress with it's body and then try to grab on to one of the drakes wings, and break it. Forcing it down on the ground.
[Above the Hunting Grounds]
The drake is caught off guard by the sudden appearance of the elemental. It tries to get away, but the elemental will be able to grab hold, pulling it to the ground and crippling it. I(t's not done yet, however. The drake whips its tail around to cut at the elemental's head.
[Snowy Plains]
Hill isn't going to be doing much more than keeping an eye on that thing while Wenomir's dealing with the surviving crashed thing.
He's not about to charge it alone.
Above the Hunting Grounds
The zeppelin gets right above the scene of combat, and Cornelia starts a slow, cautious descent toward the forest canopy. Otherwise, she can do nothing to help Cessie.
[Forest in the Hunting Grounds]
The stone elemental actually lacks a head, it's 'face' is in it's chest. There wasn't really any reason for it to have a head. So I assume it slashes it's body instead. The elemetal is sturdy however so it only manages to pierce into it a bit.
Cessie doesn't really care what happens to the elemental though as she uses the time it buys her to charge up a blast powerful enough to squash the drakes head if it hits.
[Snowy Plains]
The creature is hit by the silver knife and quickly melts into a pool of the quicksilver-like material. There appears to be a great deal more of the quick-silver like creatures around though if you look in the direction of the 'tank' which appears to be made of the same material.
[Forest in the Hunting Grounds]
Seeing its tail isn't effective, the drake falls back a bit so it can pick it's legs up and thrust them at the elemental, possibly knocking it back toward Cessie.
[Snowy Plains]
"I don't think killing them will do much good!" Wenomir shouts to Hill. "We have to take out that big thing!"
[Forest in the Hunting Grounds]
The sorceress is experienced enough with her own elementals to keep a distance just in case. She still steps back instinctively once the earth elemental falls. But as the summoned creature already is holding on to the drake it will attempt to drag it down with it. Giving Cessie a chance to use her force crush.
[Forest in the Hunting Grounds]
he drake is pulled down and Cessie's force attack caves in its skull and whips it's head back with enough force to snap its neck. It collapses in a heave and moves no longer.
Forest in the Hunting Grounds
A blimp descends overhead, blotting out the sun where Cessie's made her kill. "Huh. Sure did a number on 'at poor beastie," Calls Cornelia, bending over the lower hatch and smiling at Cessie. "Near on gave me a heart attack, marm."
Forest in the Hunting Grounds
The sorceress wipes some sweat off her forehead. In the battle she had forgot to cool herself down. Now she was going to smell sweat all day. Hopefully the perfumes would help.
"Sorry for worrying you. I really thought it would just give up chasing me." She replies, looking up at Cornelia. "I'm going to need to burn it's body, do you know where the last one went?"
[Forest in the Hunting Grounds]
"Northwards, marm. C'mon, fireball 'at thing and lets git after the other one," Cornelia urges, forking a thumb up toward the zeppelin. The gunsmith retreats back inside, once she sees Cessie's on the way up, and presumably they go in the direction the surviving drake did.
