Re: One Piece -- Discussion
How about this, NONE of them are normal in the slightest. Though, the most normal may be Nico Robin. Sure she has a devil fruit, but really all she is, is pretty smart.

The official English dub uses Zoro. I should know, I've been watching it non-stop lately.

Not necessarily. The thigh bone of a human is harder than concrete.

Again, he used friction to make his foot catch fire by kicking really fast. That is not normal.

a) to start with this wont matter a bit, even if something is very hard then it doesnt mean it wont shatter, glas fx is a lot harder than wood, but it will still shatter if you smack it hard with a branch.
b) Even if you did mean stronger, then it still wont matter, most (some) of Sanji's kicks are sidekicks, meaning he takes the force of the kick on the weakest angle of his thigh bone.

More importantly, the Wanted Posters as drawn by Oda all say Zoro, and given the really really really obvious reference his name is, Zoro is the only thing that makes sense (well, aside from calling him Zorro outright).

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Shonen Jump publishes One Piece in both Japan and America, so I'm going with Shonen Jump's translation. Dub was the wrong word.
Also, the reason I will never use Zoro, is the reason you do. So... Yeah. :smalltongue:
-
Re: One Piece -- Discussion
I will proberly allways call him Zoro, simply because that was his name when i first startet reading the manga.
-
Re: One Piece -- Discussion
Sorry, but when the guy who writes and draws the manga ACTUALLY WRITES THE CHARACTERS NAME WITH ENGLISH LETTERS you have no excuse for misspelling the name.

The reason you don't use Zoro is because Oda writes it like that?

How contentiously quaint.
-
Re: One Piece -- Discussion
No. I don't use Zoro because Shonen Jump, the official translator doesn't use it, and because their's this guy.
EDIT: Also, I'd be pretty sure Oda writes it as ロロノア・ゾロ

I don't see how that's evidence for Zolo at all. I see how it could be evidence for Zoro, though.

Actually, he writes it as this:

And even on his wanted poster, he is by far the most badass looking.

Of course. He's the cool badass of the crew. Usopp and Chopper know that.

Well, the pirates in One Piece are clearly inspired by Carribean-era real world pirates, so English is a better language choice for them than Japanese.

The storyline is the exact same; The anime just has some occasional filler arcs and occasionally adds some details to certain scenes and either fleshes out or draws out some fight scenes a bit more.
Oh, and on the flip side, the manga has had quite a few cover storylines (picture and title-only) of which only a few have made it into the anime.

Outvoted. Chopper, Usopp, and even Brook all agree.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
What about the ladies... on second thought Zoro is more badass. But Sanji has a stronger force of will. He is the ONLY one to survive the island of transvestites without becoming one.

True. As far as Sanji's concerned, he's been to Hell and made it back alive.

What he said. The original anime (and thus all fan subs) and, I believe, also the Funimation dub covered everything from the manga except the cover stories.
Also, yay, new comic!
Spoiler
Show
They set out quite fast and without any titanic battles after all - I guess the Pacifista pwning from the last issue must serve as buttkicking awesomeness for now. Fun to see all the many allies the different Straw Hats acquired helping them get out (all in their own ways) before the marines can close in and delay them. Also, poor Snaji, learning that Luffy was sent to the Land of Hot Warrior Women when he spent two years in transvestite hell
Strangely, Perona has sided with Zoro and helped out the Straw Hats after all. I wonder where she'll go, back to work for Mihawk? Or to a reappeared Moria?*
*Speaking of which, Moria's disappearance as noted by Doflamingo - might that have been Absalom's work? I was wondering where he was during Marineford, Moria keeping him around as an escape plan makes some sense, even if it might be a bit too smart a choice for him.
-
Re: One Piece -- Discussion
regarding Moria's Escape, then thats a very interesting theory.
And at the same time, its not like he is actualy stupid, its not that unlikely for him to have come up with it.

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
I knew that's how Zoro got there first!

Re: One Piece -- Discussion
It's an undeniable fact that Sanji has the most badass wanted poster of all the straw hats. :smallsigh:
As for the last chapter;
Spoiler
Show
Glad to see they're finally leaving for Fishman island, y'know that they've been heading there since Water 7.
