Singular: A Giant In the Playground Forum Adventure
(If you're not familiar with these, I'll be updating this story based on forumite input a la MSPA. As for WHY I'm doing this, it's a way to write part of a story without spending so much time planning and replanning and - I just want to do SOMETHING :P)
>Singular: Begin
Brandt rose, stretched, rubbed his head, and looked around. There was a tree above him. There wasn’t a tree when he went to bed. In fact, when he went to bed last night there was a bed. And rooms. And the promise of breakfast. But now? Just a tree.
It was a very nice tree, ash by the look of it, and quite healthy. But it wasn’t SUPPOSED to be there. Brandt reached into his pocket and took out his compass to find his general bearings.
Brandt reached into his pocket and took out his compass, for real this time.
Brandt checked his other pockets, for anything at all.
Situations like this were why Brandt kept most of his wealth off his person. Still, it was quite disconceting.
“Alright. Theory one: I was robbed, and left to die here. Theory two: I was possessed, and this is where I shook of the demon. Theory three: I went for a walk, got lost, and bonked my head.”
But theorising was useless. Now was the time for action. To find his bearings, get moving, and get to civilization. The problem was, with nothing but the clothes on his back, Brandt had more pressing matters: Water, food, and shelter.
BRANDT: WHAT DO YOU DO?

Uh, Brandt checks himself for signs of injury or concussion, and any tracks that might be leading toward or away from the tree?
Re: Singular: A Giant In the Playground Forum Adventure
>Brandt: check for injuries
You are now Brandt.
You check yourself for any injuries, but are relieved that you seem to not have sustained any. There are no visible tracks nearby; it seems a rainstorm happened recently. There IS, however, a road within sight. As a sign of civilization, you head towards it. There is a crossroad up ahead with four directions; unfortunately you cannot read the directions on the sign. You can go north, south, east, or west.
Re: Singular: A Giant In the Playground Forum Adventure
Wait so I just say something like... Brant heads south?
Re: Singular: A Giant In the Playground Forum Adventure
Yup!
>Brandt: Go south.
You walk south, keeping an eye out for any anomalies. The road eventually leads past a hill. A small patch of shining blue flowers adorn its top, and there appears to be a small door in the side. You can leave the hill be or continue moving on.
You are feeling a bit hungry and a bit thirsty.

With a small door in a hillside it's probably Hobbit flesh. We can hunt them, but we need to watch out for the Grue that sat west of that first crossroad, it might still be following us.
