Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Are we getting an epic battle? I'm excited.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Oh there's gonna be an epic battle. In fact i'm turning it up to 13.
As promised, the 6-paneller Comic 497 is up. I LOVE Panel 2.

Oh Ing, you tease.
I don't know the rules for epic level, but is it right to assume that collossal size just isn't what it used to be by that point?
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
When you're epic level, not even Galactus size matters.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
He kicked his way through a wall of force? Whats the break DC of a wall of force? 120?
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Eh, the break dc isn't that massive. At least not big enough to stop Powers.
Comic 498 is done. 2 comics away from 500.

That's the skill check to slip through a wall of force though.

While "down" is subjective, you'd still think "down" is relative to where you came from. At least until you realize you can will yourself into "falling" in any direction you wish.
And Comic 499 is up. I had fun with this one. I like lasers.

Danmaku fight! :smalltongue:

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
What deep and unexpected character development on the part of powers. I honestly did not see that coming.

Torn, you're doing it wrong! You need to fill the screen with bullets in an elaborate, labyrinthine, but still predicable pattern!

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Eternus doesn't make weapons that fire bullets in labrynthine patterns. They make weapons that fire LASERS in labrynthine patterns. There's a difference.
There's also models available that fill the entire screen with solid walls of laser, but each shot does like...no damage, so nobody uses it.l
And...it happened. Against even my own expectations before Comic 400,
Comic 500 is up in glorious 30-panel L33T wootness.
As a special representing 500 comics of awsomeness for like...4 years, for the first time in WTwU history, you get to see someone of Rand's race facing the camera! Now you too can see why i've been deliberately avoiding it for 4 years now.

...Well that looks like it might mildly inconvenience Powers. Do I smell a three way battle between Powers, that dragon thing, and the AIs in the near future?
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
y'know, it is quite a case of the ironies when Powers thinks that only the imperial forces can use tactics, when from what I’ve seen of him the only ones he's mastered are 'CHARGE!' 'ATTTACK!" and "STEAL EVERYHTING NOT NAILED DOWN OR ON HERECITCAL FIRE!"
Also, that page needs 50% more chainsaw per chainsaw.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Did you forget Torn in the 4th to last panel?
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Nope. Still needs more.
Torn should get one of those Mad-World style chainsaw gauntlets/arms.

No, my comment was for Rand/Ing.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
For the record, STEAL EVERYTHING NOT BOLTED DOWN OR ON FIRE is from the Codex Astartes, and is specified to apply only to the Blood Magpies Ravens. I believe they call this maneuver Steel Steal.
And Torn is in the 4th to last panel, except he's underneath the background due to some grouping shenanigans Inkscape likes to pull. I have an updated version of 500 in my files but it's 2.2 megs large and Imageshack is retarted and i'm too busy.
501 is FINALLY up.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
THOSE FOOLS! He'll just cut his way out! I have seen enough tropes in my time to know that swallowing something, anything, alive Cannot End Well(TS*) , with the only exceptions being microscopic**!
Alas Red wyrm, we hardly knew ye...
Aside from that though, excellent as always. Wounder where Rand and Xeno went?
*Tradesnark.
**And even then...
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Oh, it ends brilliantly. Though not everyone appreciates such a brilliant outcome.
Comic 502 is up.

Now that's a threat to take seriously.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
....
*Slow clap.*
Well played.
Also, great wyrm or no, that is one hardcore dragon.
-
Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Wyrms have boatloads of HP. What's a little disembowelment? And for the record, the difference between a Wyrm and a Great Wyrm is irrelevant for this comic. All you need to know is that it's a Red Wyrm of some kind. Might be a Great Wyrm. Might be a So-So Wyrm.
Comic 503. This comic is big, and I had a lot of fun making it.
Q? C? C?

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
part of it seems cut off or is that just me?

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Gah, I don't understand why but apparently the picture got clipped. Maybe I exported it wrong, I dunno.
Comic 503 For Real This Time (I promise)

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Well, That paladin's got her prioites straight. By paladin standards anyway.

Re: Well That Was Unexpected Thread II: Now with 230% more lasers!
Hay guise, can someone recommend me a new image hosting site? Photoshop can't hold any of my larger comics without shrinkage (and thus distortion,) Imageshack is wierd, and I tried out Imgur, though that converts images into jpgs. Which is bad. If you have anything that doesn't change file format, is usable, and doesn't shrink images, please lemme know.
For now, though, Comic 504 was under 1 mb.
