Brandon Bor
Bran reports, "This is all packed earth, not rock. You can't make a secret door in this, I think. Even a halflling would have trouble."
He squints at the web. "He really must have made a magical web. I still have trouble believing it. If there are spells for spinning cobweb out of nothing, there must be magic for -anything-."
Alanna laughs. "That's kinda the point of magic," she teases.
"Quite so!" Talsarios agrees, nodding at Alanna and Brandon. "Now, let us be at them, yes? Drive the foul undead back, and destroy them!"
He brandishes his sword again, but is apparently reluctant to lead the charge.
Alanna looks around at her comrades, who have weapons drawn, but seem to be waiting on something. "Huh. Guess I'll go first, then," she remarks.
With her mace in hand, she strides forward and attempts to bash whatever skeleton is closest to her.

Brandon Bor
Brandon seems slightly confused as he sees Alanna go ahead and attack the skeletons herself.
Then he goes forward after her and attacks as well, saying in a questioning manner, "I thought we'd just set them on fire with flaming oil."

Artanis, seeing that Alanna had attacked instead of testing, decided to support her by drawing his greatsword and attempted to cleave the skeleton that she had attacked. If an attack was directed at her, he would shove her out of harm's way instead and hope that his armor held.

Alanna rushes ahead and knocks the nearest skeleton into a pile of bones. Brandon and Artanis follow her and make their own attacks, Artanis destroying a second skeleton.
The skeletons now focus on the attackers, no longer cowed, or perhaps left no choice but to attack to preserve themselves. The two remaining skeletons attach Artanis and Alanna. Both miss but not before the elf unceremoniously shoves the cleric aside and back into the tunnel.
Talsarios opts to hurl a sling stone at the remaining skeletons rather than engage in the melee.

As Mycah's mates all rush forward after Alanna at the three skeletons, the lightly-armored scout does his best to drop back out of everyone's way. it seems his meager combat skills won't be needed just yet. Instead, he watches behind to be sure no one is taking advantage of the battle to sneak up on them.
Artanis, emboldened by his success in striking a blow to the relatively brittle skeleton. He moved towards another one while keeping between Alanna and the remaining skeletons despite any of her protests. He swung Solahel at the skeleton that had threatened Alanna in an attempt to remove its head from its shoulders.
"There is a good time and place for bravery! Now is not the time to be struck down by such a weak foe! Stay in the back!"

If Ash can scootch up a bit to get a shot with her bow (where she won't endanger her allies), then she'll take it. Otherwise, she'll stay ready for an opening if it comes.

Nathros' spear passes the skeletons and winds up in the web behind them. Brandon and Artanis swing their swords without connecting. Talsarios puts a sling stone through the shoulder of one of the skeletons.
With Brandon, Artanis, Alanna, in or near melee, and Nathros and Talsarios right behind them, Ash's view is thoroughly blocked up.
The skeletons attack wildly and fail to hit anyone.
Mycah doesn't see or hear anything approaching their rearguard.

ASHALA
Ash will back up a little to allow more maneuvering capabilities. She'll keep her arrow knocked, but aim it at the ground 'cause there are no opportunities to shoot. If an enemy approaches from behind, she'll take her action and deal with it then.
Since they have the potions in the case of an emergency, she'll just have to trust that the others will do their best and this will be over soon.
Artanis, unfazed by his miss and the skeleton's inaccurate strikes, merely followed his wild swing upwards with a downward stroke as if the skeleton were a block of wood that needed to be split in two.
As Solahel streaked downwards, his vision began to turn red as if the only way to clear it was to remove the walking dead in front of him.

"Nice song," mutters Alanna through gritted teeth.
What's with that elf? Is he trying to protect me? Fighting undead is more than half my training!
If the skeletons are still moving, she'll try her best to get out from behind Artanis and smash one with her mace. If not, she'll congratulate her teammates and make a mental note to speak with Artanis in person.

Artanis makes a mighty, rage-fueled swing, but catches his sword in the nearby web.
Nathros' axe splits the skull of the already injured skeleton, which falls in a hollow, clanking, heap. Brandon strikes down the other, cleaving it from shoulder to pelvis.
Spoilerout of combat
As he sees the skeletons fall, Artanis thoughts are dour as he begins to try to pull Solahel free of the web.
I would rather not burn Solahel along with the web... but if it must be it shall be after I have attempted to pull it free!
He also begins to sink back into his negative mood despite his success at striking down one of the undead he so hated.
I should have been able to have taken that last one down... there is no excuse for my failure... I seem to contribute little wherever I go...
His mind wanders back to a time where he had defended a friend from a snake, only to be berated by him for interfering with fate's plans.
Nathros retrieves his spear and axe. "Well, that is an end to that, at least."
ASHALA
Ash stows her arrow and nods affirmatively. She'll stay at the ready for other dangers (though she expects none) while the others loot and discuss things.
Artanis struggles to wrest his sword free, but with some effort manages to do so. Nathros finds his spear in a similar predicament, but can also yank it free.
Eerily clean bones litter the floor. Beyond the web, the hillside and late afternoon sun are apparent.
Alanna looks at the view beyond the web.
"Uh… I hate to be a spoilsport, but how likely is it that that's an illusion?"
As Artanis took a look at the sunlight coming through the opening, something in him snapped. He hadn't wanted to believe the words of the prisoners when he had said that the necromancer had escaped.
He then let loose with a shout of rage and frustration that seemed to rattle throughout his whole being.
"NOOOOOO!!!! WE WERE SO CLOSE!"
He punctuated his last word by snatching the nearest torch and throwing it into the web's intervening strands.
"WHY?! WHY MUST IT BE THAT FIENDS SUCH AS HIM MUST ALWAYS ESCAPE FROM JUSTICE?"
He then rammed Solahel into a skull and rested his forehead on the pommel, silent for a few short seconds. He then began to search the skeletons and the ground frantically, looking for any clues that could pertain to the necromancer's destination, leaving Solahel planted in the skull.
"THIS CAN'T BE IT! A leaf, a trail, anything! It won't end like this! It can't end like this!"
