ABR is assuredly going to die a slow death unless someone or something manages to attract a continuous surge of newcomers again. And I don't believe that something to be Future Imperfect, at least not the way it is now.
/\ I'm not sure what are you two up here trying to prove right now:smallconfused:
If you think that you can do better, then don't talk about it and just do it....preferably by making comics.
As for me, I'm kinda content with the slower pace, mostly because I tend to very busy these days*....actually I'm one of those who still do intend to continue FI in some way and I kinda don't care who goes along, or who will not, or at what pace it will be going....sooo, I'm just saying that FI** is gonna get it's share of updates from me, I'm just not the most productive person around....
*I already said don't wait for me, several times. Don't let me link to it.

In a constructive conversation, you find flaws in someone's argument and suggest improvements. You however, Q, are just picking flaws.

I'm glad everyone is in such a high spirit right now

1) Lying, your statement assumes Q is attempting to even look like he's being constructive. Which i sincerely doubt.
2) Anyone have any tips for drawing stormy waters?

Lots of waves, dark green-tinged water. If it's actually stormy, dark near-black skies with lightning bolts help too.

So...er...not to interrupt the conversations that are going on here, but I have a few questions...
1) Is this still alive? Last comic I saw was on the 3rd and it's the 15th...
2) How do I get in on this awesome thing?

i think that might actually be easier using a non-vector program. the white foamy stuff on top of waves is easier to "paint" (as in paint in photoshop or paintshop using a tablet).
At least it would be to me.
in a vector program though? try to make wavery rather spiky than wavy maybe with several lavers of semi-transparent white you can get some decent foamy things.
yay i contributed

Hey! A new guy! That's what I'm talking about.
ABR is still alive, but it needs some help from newcomers like you to bring their enthusiasm and fresh ideas. You traditionally join in by making a comic where your avatar kills another person's avatar, and potentially begin a multi-comic fight between you and him.
Nowadays the focus is on collaborative stories which are sort of like Free Form RPG in comic form. You add your character to an ever-expanding universe and collaborate to create a large story. You can choose between Miridia, a mostly undefined tropical area; ABR Corps, where your character gets a Green Lantern ring; and Future Imperfect, a more serious plot in which the world of Avbaroy has been conquered by ambiguously benevolent Replicator-expies, the Sovices, and is now the center of a battle between a resistance and the Sovices.
Just read a few of the comics to get an idea of what's going on, and jump right in with a character that can be interacted with.
Regarding the previous conversation, I don't share Q's opinion that FI sucks. I invented it and I'm quite fond of it, but it doesn't change the fact that it's not seeing much activity, like the rest of ABR. Something must be done about it. I don't know what it is going to be, but when I will join it, I'll do my best to push it forward.

Okay!
If my scanner/printer combo is cooperative then it'll be ready by tomorrow!
(And by it I mean a comic)
I could talk about my guy a bit if you want(I know most of the plots going on right now, I've been lurking forever)

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Could we like, not argue? It doesn't matter which plot you hate or prefer, there's really no point in getting aggressive over it. It's not exactly enticing to newbies to watch the old guys bicker at the back of the club. C'mon people, can't we just focus on having fun?
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
My final word on the matter, I swear.
If you assault someone so often that it becomes considered your character, it is still assault.

Assault? You live in England. How could I hit you? :smallconfused: :smalltongue:
And dude, I'm kidding. Alright? CHILL OUT. Have you not noticed all these little smiley faces with their tounges hanging out? :smallannoyed:
In all honesty, FI is a fine plot, but at the moment it does nothing to entice me. I'm just slighlty annoyed that the efforts to revive it when the concept already lost all it's interest, and then attempting to revive using a method of plot insertion that clashes with everything else (In my opinion), only causing further disarray and intimidation.
Not that I discourage anyone from joining it. Oh no. All newbies, if you'd join FI it would become exciting again. I highly encourage you to jump in.

Well, most people have different characters for the different plots due to them usually taking place in different worlds, but if you have one you want to focus on or use as a basis for every plot you join you can talk about them as much as you want.

I actually watch old guys bicker at the barbershop I go to.:smalltongue:
It's hilarious.
Anyways...
Keveak you bring up a good point.
-Runs off to re-read recent plots to make sure characters are correct-

Anybody got anything planned? I already edited a comic into my last post once. :smallwink:

I don't have anything planned, by all means go ahead.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
No, no, I mean that I already added an extra comic to my previous post in the comic thread. I'm kinda waiting on somebody to make a response or something, rather than edit in a third strip.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
I say we reboot the reboot of Fat Fish Fury.

I am inking a FI comic, but I am notoriously slow at actually finishing one...
I should probably just stop trying to do everything at once, I'll see if I can post it soon.

Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Alright:
My comics are being horribly difficult to upload. Mostly because my scanner/printer is crazy
Also: we can make new plots, right?
What about on dealing with a god exiled to be a mortal but doesn't remember why?

Again? :smallconfused:
Didn't we reboot the reboot already? I think? Am I going crazy?
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
More reboots is a bad idea, anyways. It's pretty clear at this point I think that it's not going to work. :smalltongue:
We already have like... three plots that are moving slowly. Why not just post in one of those?
-
Re: ABR Discussion thread XXXV - Rise of the Pervsharks!
Then the path is clear! We should reboot everything into one amalgamated mess of a plot.

I, for one, like this idea.
