Anyway I've been reading articles and reading the forums for a while like a creepy stalker but never got around to making an account, so I suspect I'll stick around even longer now
Great to hear it. We've all been creepy stalkers for a while before we registered, so don't worry. I hope to see you around! (I mostly dwell in the play-by-post subforum, so...come play with us? Come plaaaaay with ussss.... forever and forever... :smalltongue:

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Creepy Stalker reporting!
Played D&D 4E now for a couple of sessions with some friends, all as first timers! Except for the DM, he's played before, but not as a DM.
Just finished the 'Reavers of Harken Wold' adventure and we're now level 4 and having a blast!
Now it's my turn to take on the DM hat so I came here looking for advice and prompty lost half my day reading SilverClawShift adventures ...
Hope to pick up a lot more wisdom from the forums here! And ask the occasional ruling question :)
Love,
Dirk

I'm by no means new, but I've decided to come back after almost a year away. I have to admit, I missed the playground.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
:) Nice to meet everyone, I'm Chromasia, although I welcome any and all nicknames within reason~
I'm never quite sure how to introduce myself, so I suppose I'll muddle through as usual. If I sound odd, I apologize before hand and - :smallamused:.
Sorry, that just looked interesting. All of these faces~!
I'm a student who has a strange love of sugar and roleplaying, although the two don't mix very well. Heck, they don't mix very prettily either... I'm pretty easily distracted, and random words will oftentimes send me off into hysterics.
Well, I'm looking forwards to meeting all of you and probably learning quite a bit. It'll be fun to boot~

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Welcome Chromasia! I predict many people calling you "Chrome"

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hello, n00b here. Have been playing D&D since just before 3rd edition came out, grew up with a thac0. Am currently switching over to pathfinder and playing via maptools, about to start a Shackled City Adventure Path game.
Thank you all for having me, lol.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Good Morning
I wanted to say hello here. I´m a german d&d-player and gm who found this very helpful forum for d&d after reading the comic for a very long time. Should have looked better before to find the forum earlier. Could have solved a lot of problems for me :smallwink:
I have one question: I can not find the search button in this forum. Where is it hidden?
-
Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Good morning to you, Seltsamuel, and welcome!
Search isn't hidden, it has unfortunately been temporarly disabled.
At the moment, if you use Google you can type site:www.giantitp.com and it will give you only results from this site. It's not ideal, but it's a decent workaround.
Enjoy the forum!

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hello, people! I'm from Italy and I've discovered D&D in 2009. I've heard a lot about this community and today I decided to join this forum.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hello, Heilmut Von L.! I'm from Italy as well (even if I live in UK now), as are a lot of other playgrounders. Welcome to the forum!

Hi!
I don't have much to say right now, but I figured I would just post here and say hi.
So hi again!

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hi everybody!
I'm an old role-player who fell out of gaming. About a year and a half ago I stumbled onto OOTS and loved it. I participated in Kickstarter and got A Monster for All Seasons:smallbiggrin:... which started my GM juices flowing again. (Is it GM or DM that is trademarked?)
Doing some research for a new game, I found this forum. (I must be blind:smallcool:. Where do I get my cane?) Like everybody else, I stalked for a while before finally joining.
I've never played by post before, but I'm interested in trying it out, either as a player or a GM. (I found some people who want to play live, but we are having trouble finding a time. :smallfrown: I might try out the world here.)
So anyway... Hi.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Welcome to GIGAR and Dragon Overlord. I am sure you will both enjoy your stay.
Just ignore the kraken.
It's just upset because we said it couldn't go iceskating with all the other mythical sea monsters.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hi.
Long time gamer (30 years +), mostly d&d but have tried many other games.
Looking to do more, but I live in a small town and the only group I've found are terrible ((by my definition - munchkinny month haul type stuff). So thought I try a forum like this.
And, since I'm a big fan of the comic, figured I'd try a forum like this by trying this forum.
Looking forward to learning more...

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
good day to all you Stick Figures and Figurines,
I am Polmac, I am roughly a quarter century old, and have moved in the military a few times. This time, I'm in the Most northern city in North America. Yellowknife, NWT, Canada.
I love my job, but find there aren't many players in the city. Either that or they are all hiding under rocks.
I have played 3.5, and 4e D&D. I have also played Alternity (it spawned Serenity the movie) so I have an idea of all the D20 style playing.
I am currently DM'img D&D4e campaign for a couple of my co-workers, and they seem to be enjoying it.
Anyways, I will say Hello Playground people, I will try and not pull hair.
-
Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Welcome to the forum, Mr.C and Polmac!
As I always say, if you're interested in play by post, good: the more the better! Check out the link to the guide to play by post in my signature to get some useful info on how pbp works here...and my PM box is open in case of questions!

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hey all!
I'm an avid video gamer, but only very recently got into tabletop rpg's starting my first 3.5e campaign about 2-3 months ago. I'm hooked and the group of friends I play with can't meet frequently enough (we're scattered across the states and play on Skype when our schedules align) to sate my addiction, so I came here in search of a group or three. I hope we get along well!

Great picture!!
't was back in 2000, we won the Italian national AD&D tournament, and Gygax was the special guest of the Convention.
It was like a dozen xmas all packed together.

Ava'yorn, thurirli! Vi petranaswin ekess tafiaf wux shio!
Hello, comrades! A pleasure to meet you all!
I am Alexhandr, and it is good to be here. I have only very recently started reading The Order of the Stick. Quite comedic. I laugh every strip.
I am a "hardcore" gamer, though I am not competitive. Saying that, I am EXTREMELY good at real time strategy games, but losing is of no matter to me. I play a lot of games no one has ever heard of, because I am hipster like that. :smallcool:
I jest. The games I play are simply amazing and it is a pity most are unsupported via online play now and the only way to play a lot of them multiplayer by a Virtual Private Network.
Anyway, enough blubbering!
Xurwkar itov jiakali!
Maker love all of you!

Nope. Boyfriend's here, new job's here, I'm happy here and I plan to stay. I'm coming back just twice a year as a tourist and to visit my parents. Sorry, ex-compatriote.
And hello and welcome to Alexhandr! Nice to have you on the forum.

Re: Hello and Welcome New Members, Thread 10
Hi!
Thought I'd say hello here before venturing out to the rest of the board :)
I've been lurking here for quite some time, but decided to create a profile and hopefully join a game or two in the PbP-subforum, after moving and losing my RL role-playing group :smallfrown:
Looking forward to get to know you all!
