So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
What's the Playground got planned?
I'm heading to a movie with some friends tomorrow(today) afternoon before heading to a party with some different friends.
I was going to have a hot date, but then I got rescheduled for a friday in order to make room for a girl's night out. (Yay for first dates that already don't bode well. :smallsigh:)

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Lets see, does planning on not remembering the night or most of the next morning count? It is great to have a good friend that used to be a bartender.

Painting my 40k army. I'm lonely.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
I just going to hang out with some friends at a bar/pub or two downtown, and that's probably about it. It's one friend's birthday, so we're sort of obligated to go out anyway, and New Years makes it even better (though the crowds SUCK).

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
My husband's in bed with a horrible cold and sore throat at the moment, so I suspect we won't be doing much. We do have a guest arriving at 9pm tonight, so I might drag him out to a very nice local bar for a little drinking and dancing.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
In about three hours and sixteen minutes, 2008 will be so yesterday.
And I have nothing planned.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
In about 24 hours I plan to watch a movie with my bird, but I don't think that's going to happen.
No, I don't literally mean a bird.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
I myself have just had a celebratory glass of fine wine with my parents. That is the extent of the celebration...
For one hour and twenty-three minutes away...Happy New Year, everybody!
-
Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
As usual I spent $70 on early bird tickets to a club a lot of my friends are going to and will spend the 50 bucks I have left on drinks.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
I'll be spending New Years Eve at work. :smallsigh:
I start my 4-day weekend from work on New Years Day, though. Might do something interesting then. But I doubt it. :smallfrown:

Wait... Bring your camera to work, and take a picture of yourself beside a clock just as it hits midnight! >> Boring, but I think everyone should do this.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Last year I blacked out and made out with a stranger, this year I'm going home early.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Since I have nothing better to do I'm going to sit here and prowl the forums for any thread that I want to post on. Yep, I am one sad little man.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Was planning to go to family and celebrate with them(as I usually do) but no, no no, dense fog was predicted and we couldn't go. So instead we're going to stay at home.
So I'm at home, playing mah jong(spelling is butchered, sorry) with my brother and parents.
I'm a sad lil' no lifer.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
I'll be spending Old Year's Night (as we northerners and the people of Barbados ( :smallconfused: ) know it) with Miss Eggy, good alcohol, and some of my favourite films. The rest of the world can go to Hell.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Absolutely nothing. I don't even understand why this is a holiday. All it really means to me is about a month of dating my checks wrong.
Forgive my bitterness, but I just don't see why some of these holidays are holidays.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Ditching work early. I've got a party to go to, but it's about 10 mi away and the snow is coming down at an inch an hour. I'm gonna see how the roads look come 8pm and either get drunk at the party or get drunk at home with the ladyfriend.
Tomorrow is for hangovers and/or game of thrones board game.

Re: So, it's the new year soon for some of us.
Well jeez it starts early for some of you! It's not even noon up here where I am. Psh, "time zones". . .
I'll probably be hanging out at home though, on the computer or something. My family usually just spends it in our house. It just snowed pretty heavily though, so it's not like we could go anywhere anyway!

An excuse to celebrate? I dunno.
Also, I've read something about people putting the years on their checks ahead of time so they don't forget. I know you were just making an off-hand remark, but I figured I'd mention it.

Happy New Year Playground!
It's been 2009 for 49 minutes already here in Shanghai.
I spent it watching fireworks through bamboo leaves and drinking champagne.
Have a good one, youse lot.
