I'm not claiming that the rules are too strict, or too lax; nor do I plan to "game the system," as you put it. However, I would appreciate if the rules were more consistent in how strict or lax they are. I would also like all the rules to be publicly posted, rather than just the ones currently here. Well, moderators are people, and people vary. It is expected they use impartial judgement, but people are hardly consistant in anything we do. What rules manage to sneak up on you that aren't mentioned in the Forum Rules page you linked?

I don't know! If I did, there wouldn't be a problem, would there?

I think Coffee would prefer we not argue about Our Benevolent Overlords in her thread. On the most basic level, it's not what the thread is for.
Coffee! Totally random question caused by my latest obsession, are oozes around in... my memory is telling me Aequar?

Yeah, it's Aequar. And yeah, there probably are...why?
-
Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
I like oozes! I could link my stuff about them, but it'd be unfair to hijack the thread. Also it's mildly not boardsafe.
Anything special about Aequarian oozes? :smalltongue:

Uh, no? Not that I know of.

Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
This is clearly a MAJOR hole in your cosmology! :smalltongue: You should definitely invent something right now.
Or, yknow, ignore the silly Lixie. Either works. :smallwink:

Of course there are. Sooner or later, some wizard's bound to try and create a new minion. How else do all these creatures that can only exist through crazy magic come into existence?

Wizards aren't the only sources of crazy magic. Don't forget insane gods and random variances in ambient magic levels.
And sorcerers.
Which reminds me of an idea I had once where an epic-level wizard was always wanting to create new life forms, but to research epic spells of that magnitude is ridiculous (it takes something like four seeds). So he would just round up all the low-level spellcasters he could and make a big circle of people giving up 1st or 2nd level spell slots to mitigate the high DC for the spell. And whenever anyone got uppity he'd throw off some high level spell to demonstrate how he could erase them from ever existing and yell "Get back in the circle!"
Tangent on a tangent.

Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
Rust's Theme
Spoiler
Show
I was there through the ages
Chained slaves to their cages
I have seen you eat your own
I'm the cycle of pain
Of a thousand year old reign
I'm suicide and salvation
The omen to nations
That you worship on all fours
I'm the infection and famine
That's knocking at your door
That's why you're feeling so
Unholy
Oh, I was created by man, you know I'm....
Unholy
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah
I am the incubus
I lay the egg in you
The worm that burrows
Through your brain
But you are the beast
That calls me by my name
You send your children to war
To serve bastards and whores
So now you know
You created me
On the day that you were born
Unholy
I was created by man,
yeah I'm the Lord of the flies, you know I'm
From the left hand of power comes the father of lies
- Unholy!
[Instrumental break]
I lay you down to sleep
Your soul to keep
Better cross your heart before you die
And now you know
Know that you are mine
That's why you're feeling so
Unholy, Unholy, Unholy - Unholy!!
Edit: Why WaterCW likes my choices:
How do I get the image smaller?

It's so true, Asta. All the best ones are from the Baltic states... At least the songs are usually in English.

Implicit is implied, but not stated outright (ie. you have to read between the lines). Explicit is directly stated, usually without obfuscation.
In this case, it is explicit that Mass Orgy refers to sex involving multiple people, but everything beyond that is implicit. I think it is kind of like how one can talk about a war without getting into explicitly describing violence. ^_^'

I'm guessing it's also okay to use the word "intercourse" whenever we want, and it would still be okay for this forum, because it could be used to mean "conversation?"
If you mean the forum filters, they are supposed to filter swearing. Intercourse and orgy can refer to sex, but are not considered vulgar, while the name of a certain white whale is (Filters cannot tell context, sadly). ^_^
On the topic of orgies, apparently the Danish equivalent (Orgie) can refer to a wild party, a feast of alcohol, and a secret religious worship (primarily those celebrating Dionysus), but not sex. How Roman-tic! X3

A part toadstool, part toad? A Toadtoad!
Or a three-dimensional porcupine? Those being the second, sixth and 42nd dimensions, of course. :3

Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
I'm pretty sure the combo-beast you're looking for is the Hawktopus. It has eight wings, vicious talons, and a fun name.

This may be the best possible animal combination possible. That's twice as much possible as normal animal combinations.

Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
Good. Now we need a picture of the fearsome Hawktopus.

Re: Murphy's Law 9: Contents Under Pressure
Well I had one of the worst possible ways to wake up this morning (my best friend goes to MIT and I was up before the all clear report went out).
