Poplar Cabin
"They are from Professor Philip Flome. He's been rewarded with letters after his name, but I forget what they are." And I wonder if anybody recognises the name. He will also attempt to hand the letters over.

Poplar Cabin
"They are from Professor Philip Flome. He's been rewarded with letters after his name, but I forget what they are." And I wonder if anybody recognises the name. He will also attempt to hand the letters over.
Main Cabin
"Yes, it was. Would you like me to buy a kit like that for us to assemble?" But they have a moledog, a table, a chair, a goblin and a chap wearing a cape.
Poplar Cabin
"I don't know any professors," Pansy says, but she takes the letters and opens whichever one of them is on top.
Poplar Cabin
Both envelopes contain an invitation off-world, to the Pearhouse Manor for a birthday party for Natalie. The invitation also says that Natalie hasn't been told that Tito and Lily, nor any of her other Nexus friends, have been invited and not to tell her to keep the surprise.
Main Cabin
"OK. They tend to be quite expensive, though." Natalie's father has quite a high income so Natalie can afford a fair bit.
Mushroom Cellar
The courier is headed here, to knock on the door. He's holding an envelope addressed to Brinika Sneergrim.
[Mushroom Cellar]
Reelshka opens the door to the cellar.
"Yes?" she asks.
[Main Cabin]
"We'll figure it out. What do you think we should put together? A dragon or something else?" Brinika asks, thinking intensely.
Mushroom Cellar
"I have a letter for one Brinika Sneergrim. I was told I could find her here?" The courier holds it up. It is indeed addressed to Brinika.
Main Cabin
"I think a dragon will have lots of pieces so it'll take a while and be the most fun, but that might also make it difficult. Maybe we should start with something smaller, like a... Um, I don't know. Unicorn, maybe? It depends on the size of the model, I think." Natalie's thinking, but she doesn't really know much about the sets, just that they are available.
Poplar Cabin
Pansy frowns, and puts both letters away out of the children's sight. She likes Natalie, but there is no way she's going to let her children go off-world. :smallfrown: She'll have to talk to Brand about how to handle it.
[Mushroom Cellar]
"She's with her parents in Underside Colony now," Reelshka says. "I can give the letter to her when she comes here, though."
[Main Cabin]
"A unicorn might be easier. Or maybe a wolf or some other normal animal," Brinika says with a nod.
Mushroom Cellar
"OK. Here you go." Because he's aware he's now delivering primarily to children, he's allowed by regulations to hand the letters to family.
Main Cabin
"Yes, a wolf sounds good. I'll look into it." Natalie smiles.
[Mushroom Cellar]
Reelshka will take the letter and give it to Brinika when she next sees her. She won't open it herself, if only because she knows how excited Brinika will be to do it herself.
[Main Cabin]
"Now I guess we need to clean it all up," Brinika says. There's probably a lot of leaves, twigs, glue and other assorted mess around them.
Main Cabin
"I'll go fetch the dustpan and brush, unless there's anything here you'd particularly like to keep." Such as interesting-shaped sticks, or large acorns, etc.

[Jamie's Garden]
Salix is here, lying on her belly in the dirt and looking at the plants. She's wondering why they're in such neat rows. She's never seen plants grow like that. The dryad runs her fingers over one plant's leaves and it seems to become more healthy and lively because of it.

"Ni!Rrrruuuueeee!!! Bwahahahaha! In a way, I am a demented painter who paints with blood and death and tears! Ha!"
Ebil Nate is nothing if not extremely, extremely irritating and offensive to everyone and everything every day all day every year (except on holidays).
"That one is your friend! Oh! And that one is your friend too! And...and those guys in there, they're your bestest friends in the whole wide world! Bffs! I will strangle each and every one of them!"
The disembodied head cackles wickedly! He's not even trying his hand at indicating who is Rein's friend and who isn't Rein's friend in GLoG. To be fair, it is a little problematic to point things out with no arms or hands.
Rein should give him a hand. An evil hand of evil. *Nodnod.*
Jamie's Garden
After visiting Mushroom Cabin, the visiting postman starts towards the Infirmary, as that's the only place he knows of where he might somebody to whom he is delivering. He spots the dryad in the garden, and will approach. "Excuse me, Miss. Do you know where I could find a Salix Noname? I have an envelope for them." As I'm reasonably sure dryads lack surnames, that part of the envelope was left blank, resulting in 'Noname'.
[Jamie's Garden]
Dryads do indeed lack surnames often, due to not having parents in the traditional sense. Salix has had no reason to obtain a surname either.
The little dryad sits up and brushes the dirt off the front of her dress. She peers up at the postman. "My name's Salix." She tells him, though her attention has almost immediately gone to the envelope.
Jamie's Garden
"In that case, Miss, this is for you." He will hand over the envelope and turns towards the Infirmary to find Jamie herself.
[Jamie's Garden => Main Cabin]
"Thanks." Salix turns the envelope over in her hands, trying to figure out what it is after the postman has left. Hm, it's puzzling alright. She looks at the writing on the outside, not comprehending any of it.
So, the girl runs off to the main cabin and pushes open the door. "Auntie Reelshka! Are you here?" She calls as she steps inside.
[Main Cabin]
Conveniently enough, Reelshka is there, reading some papers. She looks up when Salix barges in and smiles at being called "auntie". She doubts the little dryad knows what the word means.
"I'm here, Salix. What do you need?"
[Main Cabin]
"Someone gave me this thing and I don't know what it is." Sailx walks over to Reelshka and holds up the envelope so she can see it. "Do you know what it is?"
[Main Cabin]
Oh dear. Salix can't read. Reelshka decides she'll have to organize some lessons for her at some point.
"This is a letter. It's a message written on a piece of paper. I imagine you've never had much to do with writing."
[Main Cabin]
Salix looks at Reelshka blankly for a moment. "No." She shakes her head. "Can you tell me what it means?"
[Main Cabin]
Reelshka nods, opens the envelope and reads the letter, then smiles.
"It looks like you're invited to Natalie's birthday party, Salix. Brinika got the same letter. It's going to be a surprise for Natalie though, so don't tell her."
[Main Cabin]
"Okay." Salix looks puzzled. "What's a birthday party? I've never heard of that before." She asks.
[Main Cabin]
"It's..." Reelshka's ears twitch. How do you explain birthdays to someone who came out of a tree? "It's about celebrating the day you were born. Most people invite their friends and family and have a party."
[Main Cabin]
"Oh, okay." She'll have to take Reelshka's word for it. "So what am I supposed to do for Natalie's birthday party?" She needs more info!
[Main Cabin]
This is going to be hard. =x
"Well, you have fun. That's what parties are for. You get together with friends and have fun." She's not sure whether to mention gifts or not. Salix doesn't really have any means by which to give Natalie one...
[Main Cabin]
But she might feel bad if she's the only one that doesn't have a gift! D=
Salix grins. "Okay, that's easy. When is it? Is it gonna be here?" More questions!
Unless Reelshka had actually read the letter out loud and I misunderstood. Then disregard the questions. :smalltongue:
