[Inside Warehouse Plot]
Often history imparts full vision of the limits of technology and the advantage of simpler machines over those that are worlds more complicated. The classic example of this principle is the ineffectuality of the smooth-bore musket compared to the versatility, silence, accuracy, and power of a bow. In today's "sophisticated" world, there's still a place for such things, though only if skill is judiciously applied to it.
In this case, a minor update may be in order. Armor more suited to maximum mobility is functional but not a prerequisite for anything in particular. Differentiation of weapon types is nice too, energy weapons offset by slugthrowers to break any defense.
