Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Why am my future sense is saying that Summer minis will have dark sun characters? also Winter having viking characters.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
The Mini's do look great, although it was sad to hear about the Giant's diffilculties with understanding "unlimited" downloads. Also glad to hear that the notepad manufaturer put a rush on the OotS pads. His warehousing agency will start being Very busy soon!:smallcool:

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
I just LOVE the minis!
Next D&D session will sport quite a few of those on our game table.
Thank you Giant

Uh. I think that's mainly down to us having a natural tendency to see limits as challenges to pulverize, rather than anything else. We see lines. We just have to try to jump 'em. :smallwink:

This . Unlimited just wasn't unlimited enough for OotS fans.
Also, the recent update means that hypothetically my package is now on its way. Very excited.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
You know what else is great about the minis?
Civilians. Orc and goblin civilians.
Too many D&D campaigns fail to adequately distinguish combatants from civilians, at least when they are non-human races. I think this is a great reminder to sprinkle civilians of all types into our campaign settings, to force players to show a little restraint.
------
Minis on display in my cube thusfar:
Grig Fiddler riding a Racing Snail (as promised)
Half-Ogre Ranger riding a Gargantuan Dragon
Dragonborn Ranger riding a Centaur Hunter (a dragon riding a humanoid for a change!)
Bat-Bomber riding a Dire Bat (because it had to be done)
Half-Fiend Gnoll riding a Rage Drake (the gnoll already has wings so a bat mount seemed redundant)
...and Blackwing riding Vaarsuvius' shoulder (small modifications made)

There's got to be a compilation of undead somewhere, I'm guessing winter...

Clearly, they must not celebrate Halloween in your country. :smallwink:

I think it has to do with eastern european mythology of undead.

Oops. That makes sense, should have thought about it
And yes, it's not traditionally celebrated.

While I was at it, I turned the kobold ranger into a mount for Mr. Scruffy and... presto! Yukyuk!

Did you check the email for Update #38? It should have the links.

I have the links, but when I open the Hi-res link, I cannot save the images.

Try right-clicking on the link and select "save target as".

Thank you. Thought I'd tried that already, but hey, it worked.

(Besides, they will be awesome for board games...)

Wow, the book reprints are done!
When can we, mere unlucky mortals, expect to see them on Ookoodook Shop? :)

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
So last week I suddenly found out that my landlord has decided to sell our house, so everyone has to go by the end of the month. After running around for a week trying to find a new place to live, I finally got it sorted yesterday, then this morning saw the latest Kickstarter update and realised that my package might get mailed out to the old address. I messaged Rich with my concerns and the new address.
I got a reply within five minutes addressing my concerns and assuring me we could sort something out.
Rich, you are an absolute legend. Coordinating this whole thing must be a logistical nightmare, but you still manage to promptly reply to individual queries. I already said thanks in a message but I thought I'd let the wider community know (although I'm sure they do already!) just how hard you are working on everyone's behalf. I hope once this is done you take the time to have a holiday or something, you deserve it.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Seeing as how I'm running Red Hand of Doom right now, the lack of Hobgoblin minatures made me a sad person. Still good though.

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
The miniatures are awesome, I have to say. :D Hoping to use them when I start up a D&D campaign at college this fall.
That said, I do wish that the first installment had a few more of the "generic" things; some undead would be nice, and possibly a smattering of classes other than druid and ranger, for people who want to run games with them immediately and not have to wait a few months for some key miniatures. I mean, I'm probably going to need a horde of kobolds a lot sooner than a horde of pixies...

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
Not Good, Not Good, Not Good :smalleek:
double check you coloring books, mine just arrived and was messed up
Mine must have bee on of the first out the door for i got my stuff today. dispite the LARGE ORANGE do not bend sticker, my envelope was slightly bent on the corner. I opened it and found that my poster has a slight crease but it is small so i can live with it as we got so much great stuff for so little. then i saw that the sticker sheet was stuck to the inside of the envelope :smalleek:. but when i pulled it out i found just the outer black cutout area was stuck, the stickers themselves were fine :smallsigh: . i even got a nice "IOU a note pad" note. grateful that everything worked out i opened the cool coloring book to look it over.
Cover: great, cover page: great, Pages 1-8: neat.
Cover page again??? well if i just got the first few pages twice because of a printing error, i am just fine with that as long as i get the rest of the book.
Moving on, skip to page 8.... page 8 and then page 25????? not good
Hopefully i got the only bad one or it was only a few bad copies otherwise this is a HUGE Problem
Will be emailing Rich through kickstarter in about 30 secs
EDIT: Rich got back to me in like 2 min, and i will get a replacement. so all good with me and sounds like it might be only a few with the mistakes.. glad its not the whole run

That's strange... hopefully an anomaly. I haven't seen anyone else mentioning a similar problem.

Can you say "highly collectible super-rare print error"? :smallamused:

Re: The Post-Kickstarter Discussion Thread: Bask in the Afterglow
... Hah. So my package from my second Kickstarter account is now among the ready-to-ship packages?
I'm going to be away from home all next week visiting family. If it arrives during that time I'm going to laaaaaaaaaugh. This wouldn't be the first time something like that has happened.

When you said this, I kinda see Rich as having a trait of a good general.

Wait for the line drawing ones and then colour in all the goblins with orange skin instead of green?

Wrong size. While OotS-goblins are medium sized, the one in the mini-file conform to D&D-standard of small sized goblins. And there are smaller differences in style between those two races as well.
