I can't stop laughing.
If Tite Kubo got his hands on One Piece... :smalleek:

New Chapter
Spoiler
Show
Cue Grimjow trying to pick a fight. At least he makes it clear that he isn't any friend. (Hey, defeat to friendship Trope averted!). A little bit more explanation and the SS starts to be totally destroyed by "his Highness" who is starting to challenge Aizen for a super creepy new form. :smalleek:

Yeah, well uhh... that'd be like 90 seconds of screen time.

Wow. Grimmjow is kind of... obsessed with Ichigo, isn't he? I mean I always knew he was, but it's been so long since I read or watched their interactions that I kind of forgot it. And suddenly I am reminded, both of that and of just how incredibly easy it is to put a... not quite romantic, but definitely quasi-sexual interpretation on the whole thing.
I mean, really? "If Hueco Mundo is destroyed, there will be nowhere to mangle that body of yours?"
And then Ichigo smiles.
When you start ranking the destruction of your entire planet in terms of how much it will interfere with the relationship between you and your rival...
Now the only question I have is whether Kubo is doing it deliberately.

Kubo legitimately has a character who has sex with corpses and might be a transvestite. I honestly can't believe Kubo isn't doing every single thing intentionally at this point.

Re: Bleach X: Deicide (this time for real)
It's the last arc and one not constrained by an anime adaptation. If Kubo wants to have fun, I don't see any problem with that. This arc has been pretty un-shonen-like anyway. Way more graphic violence and whatnot than you'd expect.

Re: Bleach X: Deicide (this time for real)
Personally I am half expecting Aizen to get to the soul palace - stand up, have everything vanish and kill the soul king.

I would personally find it to be so absurdly hilarious as to be well worth it.

Yeah. Kubo, when he actually tries, has some FANTASTIC art. Look at like...any page of As Nodt when he enters his monstrous form.

Re: Bleach X: Deicide (this time for real)
I'm actually curious to see how Aizen figures into all of this. The Hogyoku is still a granter of wishes. A lot of people agree that Aizen's monstrous form during the Deicide arc was due to his wish being born from misconception - he saw Ichigo's Hollow form, thought that becoming more than Shinigami or Hollow was the ultimate power and turned into a weird amalgamation with Hollow holes and Zanpakuto and continued access to Kido. Aizen was neither Shinigami nor Hollow but something greater than either, yet Aizen has failed to understand Ichigo's strength came from his existence as a perfect hybrid of all four types of souls. Aizen knew Masaki was a Quincy of course, but he no doubt assumed Ichigo couldn't use Quincy powers since he has never shown them. Then, when Ichigo became Getsuga, Aizen kinda realised where he went wrong and assumed a more human form.
So, theoretically, Aizen could simply wish to become what Ichigo did when he used the Final Getsuga Tensho. By absorbing his Zanpakuto Spirit, Kyoka Suigetsu, Aizen would become an even higher dimensional being just like Ichigo was back then. He'd no longer need a physical manifestation of his Zanpakuto to use its powers because he would be that himself. In fact I'm pretty sure that's what has happened. Heck, Kyoka Suigetsu literally shattered after Ichigo used Mugetsu and totally blew Aizen's mind. Perhaps that's when it happened. It might even explain my earlier point of how Aizen reverted to a human form after he finally understood what Ichigo was and why he was so strong.
That in itself raises a pretty serious question... What if Aizen "understands" what Yhwach has become and wishes to be the same? What if Aizen is opting to merely bide his time until he can see what Yhwach "is" rather than rush ahead and make assumptions like he did with Ichigo? It wouldn't be uncharacteristic for everyone to get played by Aizen like that. Could be that the dood is bound up in a chair with his reiatsu and movements sealed, yet he's still the one really in control.

Re: Bleach X: Deicide (this time for real)
Aizen isn't the Hogyoku's master anymore, though.
That's what allowed him to be sealed in the first place.

I had that same thought, Rater. But he still physically had it in him, right? Maybe he changed its mind in their 2 years in solitude together.

All in all this was a rather empty chapter with only the reveal of why Grimmjow is helping our heroes, and what Yhwach has become besides that Haschwald reveal. I'm more interested in what happens next with this remaking the world bit.:smallsigh::smallwink:

The Hogyoku is sentient and feeds off, or is attracted to, ambition. Aizen lost his ambition when it finally dawned on him how out of his depth he was against Ichigo and how impossible his goal had become. That led the Hogyoku to give up on him, but that's something that could have easily changed since then. Aizen seems to have recovered his usual swagger, which he totally lost at the end of the Deicide arc, so I think it's reasonable to assume his confidence has returned. He even said something like "how lame that you're going to the Royal Palace before me", so he definitely still intends to kill the Soul King and replace him.
If his resolve, his ambition, is strong enough, the Hogyoku will help him achieve it.

If yaoi fangirls can actually like a relationship as one-sided and desperate as Naruto and Sasuke, I'll be damned if anyone complains about potential UST in Bleach. :smalltongue:

Man, I want to see more Kenpachi.
And Aizen's bankai.
And everyone's bankai.

I recall Kubo saying he'd reveal everyone's bankai, but I get the feeling Aizen lost his zanpakutou and Ukitake died.

Last chapter got halfway there, this chapter get there. Probably two more chapters until they get to Yhwach/any bad guy. I predict lots of motivational speech.

I still consider that the greatest moment in all of Bleach simply because it was so dumb because it was stupid, but it was so awesome because it made fun of all the "Shonen" Upgrades that the series has.

Alas! That pretty much sums up the new chapter outside of the titular "Creation" of this chapter.:smallsigh: I would if Ywach is still in the round portion of the Royal Palace.:smallwink:

Re: Bleach X: Deicide (this time for real)
The stage is set, the players have taken their places and God himself shall witness them.
I actually got kinda hyped near the end. Everyone is going to be there and it's, like, what the heck is about to happen? We've assumed the Royal Guard will be forced to fight on Yhwach's behalf, so perhaps the whole deal about them equalling the strength of the Gotei 13 really was foreshadowing all along that Urahara's group will focus on those five (which is pretty nuts) while Ichigo's group takes on the Stern Lichter.
Gaaaaaah... Now I wanna see Uryu and Haschwalt fight while Ichigo takes on Yhwach. If Kubo is clever, he'll save Ichigo's Bankai for that fight and wait for Yhwach to use a seemingly fatal attack against Ichigo. Then everyone will be terrified that they can no longer feel Ichigo's reiatsu, but Aizen will look on smugly because, in truth, Ichigo's reiatsu disappeared because he just busted out Bankai.
Then Yhwach looks on in horror because the only thing scarier than not being able to feel Ichigo's reiatsu is being able to feel it.

That is actually pretty feasible given what we saw in the Deicide arc. Then of course the last chapter of Bleach is Ichigo taking over from Yhwach, and becoming God himself.
