I suspect Gary is simply a bit desperate. The argument of being with a girl just because she wants to be with him, maybe?
Plus, the whole reason he still is with Yuki is because Kailey turned him down after seeing the kind of impact he has in his life. Maybe he somewhat feels responsible for Yuki's wellbeing?
Ain't the healthiest of behavior, off course.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
I would have liked Gary to end up with Kailey, but that would be too "normal". Ma3 without the completely dysfunctional people making each others' lives miserable/chaotic would be pretty boring.
I'm still waiting for Gary and Kailey's one time fling to come back and bite people in the ass.
And what does it say about my life that I know people whose lives are as screwed up as the group in Ma3?

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
It does seem somewhat damning if looked at like that, doesn't it. >_>
So that's... how many females now fighting over Gary, with Amber (and possibly her porn friend for reinforcement) getting into the mix?

Well, it is pretty demeaning. He honestly has no better basis for comparison though, having never had any functional, sane friends or family in his life to look to for examples of positive relationships.

Do we know this?
I mean, we know that he's not very used to this, but that doesn't really mean that he doesn't know what a good relationship looks like. It just means that he currently doesn't have it and seems to accept it, for now.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Come on, he couldn't even get close to a girl before without fainting or nose-bleeding, he isn't that bad now.
Didi, Sandra, Amber & Friend, aren't really interested in him. The question is if Kiley was better for him than Yuki, I'm not sure, he gave up on her rather easily. He has some common interests with yuki, he liked her before he got so «popular,» and if she manages to get over her thing it might be worth it. She's willing to overcome her fears and resist her libido for him.

Of course Yuki is the only character I can't stand in the comic, but that's another issue completely.

I have to say, that today's punchline was really funny despite the previous panels.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
So apparently Amber isn't real bright. Tall blonde girl and short Asian girl walk in. Which one is named, "Yuki"? It shouldn't be that hard to figure.

This. Gotta love Yuki's brief moments of clarity :smallwink:

I thought the same... but the I guess she'd expect the muscular, attractive blond to be a cheating bitch opposed to the fragile Asian girl.

Yeah. Too bad it did not include self awareness. :smalltongue:

Man. If you wanted to draw the "love [geometric shape]" involved in this comic, we'd have to get out of Eucledian geometry and delve into the Old Ones' logic

She could be including herself; she is, after all, aware that she has an issue.

Okay, just a short trip off topic: non-Euclidian geometry isn't uncommon. A sphere, like a football for example, is a non-Euclidian shape. There's nothing arcane or impossible about it.
On topic, I was so confused about this page. What possessed Amber to think that one named Yuki was not the asian, but the tall, blonde French?
Yuki speaks truth in the last panel.

Porn-star logic. Didi is the overall prettier of the two, so she's obviously the girlfriend, no matter what the names say.

Eh. I find this inconsistent with her previous characterization. She's no Einstein, but she's not significantly dumber than average either.
I guess she just got the idiot ball this time around (or even two of them in the second panel :smallamused:). I hope Giz uses the situation well, or it'd be particularly jarring.
Speaking of, is it just me or are DiDi's assets significantly smaller here than in other panels? Amber's seem almost bigger than her.

Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Actually...what I find interesting is that the physical description Amber gives pretty much fits herself as much as anyone...I wonder if there's a subconscious reason behind her immediate assumption that Didi is the evil one.

That explains why football players are prone to higher rates of brain damage...

Well, she also "knows" that this Yuki woman has been beating on Gary. The one that's actually bigger than Gary seems to be the likely choice in that case.
Also very ironic considering that DiDi apparently prefers being the submissive.

A valid idea. *nods*

Kind of reasonable, I guess. :smallsigh: Still... she could have, like, asked or something. But I guess that's Ma3 for you.

Note that in the second panel Amber says: "And I've met your type too, Yuki, ... if that is your real name... "
Didi's appearance corresponds better to the image she made in her head of Gary's girlfriend, so assuming her name is fake is not that far fetched.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Plus...porn star. Taking a 'stage name' is pretty much par for the course.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Except that people who aren't porn stars or professional wrestlers tend not to take stage names. And a porn star would know this from having encountered human-like entities during childhood, as presumably they're humans and not grown in vats. And if Zii went to highschool with her, we can presume that she was not grown in a vat. Or at least not to adulthood.
Granted she was talking to a pair of breasts like they were a person, so Yuki kind of has a valid point.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Wait, you're telling me I didn't have to change my name to Rock Hard?

I was doing well with my foreign name M'bahlz R'hari.

My point was more that being immersed in porn-star culture means she's accustomed to the notion of people having different names, and when she's confronted with a tall busty Amazon who she thinks is named 'Yuki', combined with what Somebloke said about unconscious self-projection, it's not out of the question that she just instinctively assumed her target had changed her name to Yuki.
If this was QC, though, I'd heartily endorse the grown in a vat theory.
-
Re: Ménage à 3 III: 47 Seconds Later
Honestly I think she just assumed that the next set of breasts that walked into the room would be Yuki and Didi's caught her attention first because, well, Yuki is Yuki, and so she probably didn't even see Yuki.
