"Aw. Well maybe if I'm lucky they'll be up while I'm there." Sakura replies. Only if they're not screaming of course. She knows how hard that can be, and it can only be worse with twins.

"Aw. Well maybe if I'm lucky they'll be up while I'm there." Sakura replies. Only if they're not screaming of course. She knows how hard that can be, and it can only be worse with twins.

The sorceress shakes her head, "You were really the one that was supposed to have twins of us." She states with a faint smile.
[Red Zone - Dodgy Blind Alley]
Her day had been terrible. The store she was employed at was robbed. Her school was shut down due to a mutant infestation. She had to skip lunch because someone had burned down the restaurant she always fed at.
And to top it all off, now she was late!
A panting, young girl sprints round a corner into a sketchy back-alley in a particularly run-down neighborhood of the Red Zone. She's late. The sun is beginning to set. As it slowly rolls over the horizon, there's only one thing on her mind.
She must reach her home. Her little flat with eight locks and barred windows. It's late. And when the light is vanquished the criminals come out to play and the monsters openly hunt whatever luckless victim stirs on the streets. The stars don't even shine on this section of the city. Or the moon. Every night the sky promises eternal darkness until the sun overthrows the treacherous shade and reclaims its throne, sending the monsters back to the hell they crawled out of.
For twelve hours at the most.
The girl is a fair-skinned maiden, no older than sixteen. Her body hasn't quite reached maturation as of yet. It is slightly underdeveloped. Her figure is lean. It is obvious that she will grow to be quite a gorgeous woman. Her hair is of a chocolate tone. It is as soft as velvet, as is her skin. Her eyes, clouded glades of muddy water, and her gaze appear to be boring straight though the objects she beholds rather than only capturing one of their faces at time. Her lips are redder and more intense than blood.
Hanging from her work bag, a patchwork rabbit is tied by the arm. It sways to and fro, black button eyes sewn onto its battered, dirty face by a mere thread. There's an abnormally...alien...look to it.
She constantly has a very...depressed...air about her. She drowns in melancholy. She is not at all as merry as a girl her age should rightly be.
She's a hybrid. She once was human. Now she's something more. Something much, much more.
And that's when she identifies it.
A brick wall blocking the road forward. This detour wasted more time than it saved! Maybe she can blast through it! But if that fails, she'll be that much closer to her demise...
"Dang!"
She sighs as she takes a moment to breathe and think. She could scale the wall! Yes! That's how she'll pull this off!
In a flash, she's hopping atop garbage cans, bounding up walls and vaulting over the railing of a fire escape. With a running start, she leaps off of the fire escape, aiming for a point high above the wall she is determined to overcome. She clears the wall, crashing to the ground, her tumble cushioned by bags of shredded paper below her.
Outstanding! She's that much closer to her flat. That much closer to her salva-
"Hello? What have we here?"
Oh gods. Oh gods. She's out of the frying pan and into the fire.
She's landed in the middle of five gang members. Their shirts are of the same hue. They've baggy pants. Two of them are armed with assault rifles and one with an rpg.
This... This is bad!
"Please don't hurt me!"
"Haha! Why'd we run around doing anythin' like that fer? Undamaged goods of fine quality fetch a high price in the slave market."
As if tonight couldn't get any worse...
Decibel's warning not only serves to annoy Gelley, it likely saves her life. The heroine's eyes widen as the light forms, and her thrusters flip to reverse position. In a blast of blue fire, she loses all momentum, grinding on the metal floor before stopping just inches from the barrier.
Too slow. She'd been too slow. Can't hesitate like that again. For now, she contents herself with picking up a nearby robot corpse and tossing it at the hardlight grid.
"We really oughta organize one of these things," Tina says to the girls, smirking. "Not like I haven't got money to burn. You think the Council would mind if we turned GloG's lake chocolate for a day? Y'know, without killin' everything in it?" There's gotta be magic for that.
[Streets]
Sakura laughs. "Think of it this way. Since you only want a couple kids anyway, it saves you the trouble of having to be pregnant more. I guess it woulda been a time saver for me too, but something tells me I don't mind being pregnant as much as you."
[Red Zone - Dodgy Blind Alley]
Any of the people in the alley may hear the screams of a fleeing horde. They may also hear the scittering of a creature sniffing out its prey.
Dodgy Blind Alley
Alder watched the scene from a safe distance, his grizzled features hardened into a scowl and he drew one of his many pistols and leveled it at the first gang member who was armed.
I dunno if you boys want to keep that up. Might not be healthy.
His voice was calm, but the intimidating aspect of it was his eyes, they said that he could and would shoot each and every one of them before any one of the gang members could fire a shot.

Well, there is a character I have (who I keep forgetting I have) who is a turducken rancher. But the image of delicious turduckens bobbing on the waves is just too funny...
Sharon is distracted from the poultry by Angie's comment, and she double-takes.
"W-what? No, you didn't. How'd that happen?" she asks, grinning, happy for her friend.

Yes, yes Becky would. :smallamused: :smalltongue:
The shadowmancer shivers in telight at the soft caresses, nearly tackling Clarissa then and there and completely forgetting their goal. But she manages to contain herself (Yes, Becky did contain herself. Try not to faint.) and, with a wink to Clarissa, does indeed strut through the door.
The image of her stepping inside, with her raven-black hair, red eyes, pale skin, barely-there bodysuit (especially barely-there in the lower back) and incongruous knee-high stomping boots is one that no doubt makes an impression...

Shrike laughs at Tina, grinning ear to ear.
"Have I told you that I like the way you think, girl? Don't think we could do GLoG's lake, though. Safe change or not, the mermaid who lives in it might get a little pissy. Plus, y'know, there's a lot of kids around there."
Make the kind of stuffyouShrike wouldn't mind doing in a lake of chocolate fudge somewhat awkward. Or even inadvisable.
"I do know of some nice secluded ponds and lakes and hot springs though," the Exalt purrs, wriggling her eyebrows.

"That thought have actually hit me." Cessie replies cheerfully, Sakura's laugh managing to distract her from her distress. "Though I doubt it will stop Harnel from asking me of another child in a year or two anyway."
[Streets]
"Oh, I bet Harnel could be plenty happy compromising with you about it. And maybe you'll change your mind sometime." Sakura glances at where Cessie is out of the corner of her eye. "And besides, my kids in a year or two need playmates." She giggles.
The bikers use their communicators to call for support. Those things will need heavy weapons to bring them down.
Two of them rush towards the Chrysalids approaching Sophia. They try to draw their attention and give her time to retreat.
Gniewomir, sensing his enemy's weakness, redoubles his efforts as a surge of divine power goes through him. His whole body is sheathed in Svarog's fire.
Anatolij drives towards the approaching Chrysalid, only to retreat at the last moment. Right now, they need to keep them occupied until support arrives.
[Streets]
"I can't say I won't change my mind considering I originally considered not having children at all but until then I think your horde of children have to do with Bastion and Cora. We can't all be mothers of the year can we?"
[Red Zone - Dodgy Blind Alley]
Skittering is generally a quieter sound effect, pretty easy to miss when there's so much action already going on centerstage! And screaming? That's not out of the ordinary in this neighborhood.
When Alder intervenes, a seemingly unarmed gangsta points at him.
"This ain't none of yo business, old man. Why don't ya holster your weapon, limp home, and eat your bran flakes 'n watch yourself some black-and-white tv. Now go on before you're old and cripple. Scram!"
The gang laughs at Alder as the two riflemen raise their guns in response to the leveling of his pistol. They don't train their guns on him just yet. They think he's a funny-man with no spine.
And so they underestimate their enemy...
Dodgy Blind Alley
Alder fires his pistol once at each of the armed gang members, each shot aimed at their center body masses. Before the sound of the final shot ends Alder has pointed his pistol at the remaining unarmed men.
I figure your day will end a whole lot better if you let the young lady go.

Sakura grins at Cessie. "I don't know about mother of the year, but I do my best." Even so, it sure feels good to hear Cessie say that. "We still don't really know how many kids we want. I just know I want more. We'll just figure it out as we go."
[Streets]
"Why do you want so many of them exactly? Aren't you afraid some of them might start feeling left out?" That had happened to her. "I remember that my mother barely talked to me while she were alive."

"Ma'am, please take a seat and stop disturbing the other customers," Emily, the teenage waitress, begs Latella.
The pimply faced boy waiter goes to the door, and just kind of stands and ogles Becky. He remembers something about having to ask non-humans to leave, but... cleavage.......

The Sitar's Strings
When 'Ekkehard' sees Emily, he smiles. If she looks his way, he'll give a small wave to acknowledge that he's seen her.
Also, I thought that Clarissa and Becky were both visually identical to a normal human- no funny coloured skin, extraneous appendages, overly large dentures, strangely shaped ears or any similar differences.
I think this was missed...
The Temple of Splendours
"There's a mermaid in the lake? Huh, I don't think I've met her. Regardless, I must suggest we use another lake or pond- I live there too, after all, and I can't see how you'll take everything out without killing it and that's my food." Myrim's surprised about the discovery of the mermaid, as she was completely unaware of her presence.

Having been playing the same background music for a while now, Treb continues playing!
He figures it'd be best to keep it simple.

"Well someone finnallly tracked me down to give me my grandpa's fortune. Which I didn't know he had when I was a kid. He was an adventurer for years. Apparently some friends of his had been taking care of it, helping it grow for years."
Anige shrugs. She had been happy to hear she was getting an inhertiance from her grandfather, but disspaointed when it turned out to be only money. She had hoped for something with more sentimental value.
[Sitar's Strings]
The couple doesn't strike me as physically inhuman, yes. The existence of eye color-altering contacts and vehement gothic flair would lead me to hypothesize that Becky is human with stylistic preferences matching those of a goth. And Clarissa is disguised, with theatrical verve, as a human policewoman. Her tails are cloaked and a simple illusion has been cast that restores a quasi-human quality to her mouth. Granted, their auras may speak volumes for their true natures, if Becky has one or someone is acutely sensitive to Clarissa's.
But nevermind that! The play must go on!
A smiling Clarissa sways into the restaurant, blowing a bubble with her gum as she advances. She attempts to hug Becky and run her hands down to the base of Becky's spine as she pauses beside her friend. Clarissa additionally attempts to greet her with a devoted kiss. An impassioned kiss that might transfer the minty wad of gum she was chewing into Becky's ownership.
"I apologize for my tardiness, my love. They held me up with a debriefing, and you know how merciless and monotonous those are. So here I am, so late I haven't even had time to change into an evening dress! I just...I couldn't wait to see you, y'know."
Sitar's Strings
Latalla blinks a few times.
Did anyone else just notice the universe blink off for a few days? Anyone?
She turns to the waitress.
I mean, surely you felt that, right?
[Streets]
Sakura gives Cessie a sad look and shakes her head. "I wouldn't let that happen. I just look at Laela's little, smiling face, and I know I want..." She pauses, looking for the words. "More of that. I love her more than anything, and I guess I have a lot more love to give." She smiles to herself, looking off down the street.
Spoiler
[Red Zone - Just a Park]
The Chrysalids near Sophia are successfully distracted by the two bikers. They turn their heads, and then the rest of their bodies and let out a scream before starting their approach.
The Chrysalid grappling Gniewomir is engulfed in flame. It screams in pain, and in a last ditch effort to cause damage, vomits up its poisonous spit, trying to get it on him. His power armor will more than likely protect him.
The other Chrysalids stay with a cautious approach, unsure why some of the bikers are riding away now. A couple of them break off, trying to get into the rest of the Red Zone.
The Chrysalid crouches low and growls again, before moving away from the alley to join the rest of its group.
[Dodgy Blind Alley]
If they can't hear the skittering, then the people in the alley may hear the low hiss of a Chrysalid slowly moving in front of the alley's entrance. A viscous fluid drips from its jaws as it eyes each of its prey.
[An Alley]
The man may hear a pittering noise on the rooftops above him.

Zefir takes a look around. The woman coming first act's strange. Even thought he only heard part of the story. Maybe she is insane? Well the nexus itself is insane so maybe this is ok.
And then Becky and Clarissa entered. At first Zefir wasn't aware who they are, but as Clarissa spoke up he remembers the voice. He tries to stay calm and may obviously avoid looking at Clarissa.
An Alleyway
At the entrance stands a giant stone scorpion, looking into the alley. He can't make out what happens there he just hears the panting.
"All right?" he asks into the alley.
[Streets]
"Yes, I understand what you mean." Cessie replies with an literary invisible nod. "For me Cora and Bastion feel enough however. I'm not sure I could have time for many more with my new position at watch and everything else I have planned."
[Streets]
"Yeah, I gotcha. I wouldn't expect you to to be as crazy as me at least." The dryad giggles. "Taking care of just Laela is a lot of work, and I bet two is even more, huh? And three or four even more than that." Not that Sakura seems to mind one bit. "Adir wants to find someone to hire to help take care of the kids. I said we could talk about it more, but I'm still not sure."
An Alleyway
The man ignores any and all sounds as he goes to work on the body.
Taking the blade in hand he stabs it deep into the man's chest, causing the man to start to shrivel and wrinkle.
"Yes my lord...drink...drink!"

Landing Zone
Dun duuuuuuun dun dun dun duuuuuuun...
Dun dun dun dun dun dun.
A ship of Alterian make is landing!
[Landing Zone]
When the boarding ramp opens down, a girl comes out. Ram-like spiral horns in orange and flat-gold eyes contrast with her dull black hair and concrete-grey skin; similarly dull are her black top and pants, her umber jacket and kama (it's a Star Wars EU term but it sounds better than "buttcape", which it is).
She glances back up the ramp into the hold of the craft.
Landing Zone
Ayakan, a Alternian girl with short horns, a black shirt, and clown pants comes down the ramp.
The pants are new.
Oh, and by coming down I mean she has tripped and is tumbling down.
Rubbing her head she stood back up.
"Ow..."
She blinked at her friend.
"So...yeah, we need more supplies, man. Specifically more supor slime. I'm down to my last pie." she said with a smile, looking at her friend with glazed over eyes.
