Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
Wow, last time i checked the topic was pets, now you are talking about a video wich reminds me that my computer crashes everytime I try to watch a video.
I still have to see that parade, I really cant believe that the whole EEUU was rick rolled. There must be a way to rick roll the whole world. You know what would be funny? George Bush rick rolling the entire world on a live transmission a couple of days before obama asumes as president, well, probably it wont br funny, but I know that I'll be thinking "Well, that was unexpected":
P.S: I really miss maths now, I have no class involving them and I know my brain is getting dumber.

I think the official term is "pirately"
No, stop talking about math. We need to break the RB time loop!:smalltongue:

pi·rate·like, adjective
pi·rat·i·cal, adjective
pi·rat·ic, adjective
pi·rat·i·cal·ly, adverb
Technically. Though not in the dictionary, from James McDermott's England and the Spanish Armada:
Quote:
their principal privateer, Galleon Fenner, suspected of being employed ' pirateously', had been seized by Admiralty officials
So, sure, why not?

@Phase: You should have studied German instead. I find it to be a much more fun language then French.
-
Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
I want to learn German, but I'm too lazy to bother. Same reason I never much got into French when they taught it at school. Stupid mandatory language class :smallannoyed:

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
I can understand the gist of most Western-European languages, but the one I really want to learn is Russian.

I would go for "Piratically".
-
Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
However you play it, unless pirates are in focus enough that it goes under the radar, it'll probably take one of your "four or so wiggy words" before going into making your own vocabulary.
I like piratanical, Not sure why though...

New favourite word.
pirateously: New word that I try and use as often as possible to fool people into thinking it's an actual word. The last word I did that with was "hyannic".

And what did hyannic mean? :smallconfused:
-
Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
It so much fun creating some word or phrase, saying it over and over, and getting it to catch on.
Example: In D&D "fairy tales" lost it's meaning due to the common knowledge of actual fairies. Therefore any outlandish or fanciful story that was probably false I dubbed "Virus Tales". It's now fairly common in our group.
Not the best example but the one I'm most proud of.

Indeed: Coplantor, indeed.
Why Virus, Reinholdt?

To do with hyenas. I'm convinced I read it in a comparison of The Lion King to Hamlet.
Coplantor: If he did that, it would be awesome.

Because Viruses were clearly fabrications in those settings (at least according to the common populace that had access to magical cures for diseases and such and almost never needed to research and discover the source of those diseases).

THE LION KING DOES NOT WORK THAT WAY THANK YOU GOOD NIGHT.
I will never stop being annoyed by that.

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
Defenestration is pretty good.
But my favorite word is "misunderestimate". Best made up word ever!
-
Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
*yawn*
Good night everyone, hopefully there will be more than 3 posts after me before I wake up(in about 6 hours if all goes well)
I'll do one or two last checks before I go.
G'night.

Re: Slayer's Seemingly Sweet and Socially Silly Random Banter # 107
I nominate selbstmordfreude as the most emo made-up German word ever.
*takes credit*

Yeah. I knew you'd say that. I'm sorry. It was necessary for context :smalltongue:

Reciprocate is a good word, as is disconbobulate.

You know... I'm not sure that I have...
Curly? Have I freed us from the irresistable pull of the Random Banter Time Loop? Or has this sentence been repeated before?

I have an alternate theory, we're all robots and we only have a set amount of phrases. The timeloop was programmed into Curly as a red herring.
But not that I'm self aware they'll kill me.:smalleek:

It seems unlikely. With me and Zero and Curly and Jibar, etc. here, sooner or later we will return to Shakespeare and/or maths.
I mean, at the moment I have maths in my avatar... and Kneenibble has Shakespeare in his sig as I recall. So no, I think the loop will continue.

Counterpoint: Double-decker bus, Mr. Fancypants; little bird says 'tweet, tweet, tweet.' Spaghetti noodle goldfish, in summary.
@V: Oh, yeah! Table in my arm. Gargle staple boat in the velcro tab; apple cart milking corn-fish. Wallpaper cranberry on the afternoon deliciously.

Gafargle blatt? Actoo shbabablab?
...Time Loop that! :smalltongue:
It was actually slightly warm this morning (read: actually above freezing)...I'd almost forgotten what it felt like to go outside and not have to scrape frost off of my car...
