Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Aha! So this is where the 'Town' that everyone is talking about is!
FFRP seems like a very interesting concept, and I feel like I would enjoy it. It seems like a good place to RP without the restrictions placed on you by the class, race, level, etc. of DnD. I shall definitely be trying it out.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Hi! Welcome to Free Form Roleplaying! There are a lot of different worlds to play in too. There's Nexus, and then there are some others. (I do not know what their acronym's stand for. Sorry...
If you choose Nexus, just post in the OOC thread and say hello! We'll give you advice if you need it to. See you around!
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
The Town doesn't really exist anymore. It's been absorbed into the Nexus universe, which is the biggest and most restriction-free of the games here. The other 'verses are more streamlined, with clear goals and boundraries.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Hello. I'm new here (which you probably knew if you saw me post yesterday), so it would sweet if I could get some free advice:smallsmile:

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Read the first three posts in this thread. Lots of free advice there!

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
So basically, all I have to do is just say which thread I want to be a part of? That's it? In that case, I'd like to go to that HALO thread I failed in the other day. My friend is in it, he says it's fun, so I want to give a shot.

Sup everybody.
Would anyone be interested in an FFRP set in a world after a nuclear war? Something like the setting for Fallout.
Also, would anyone be interested in an FFRP that takes place in the Oblivion's setting?

I would be interested in the post apocolyptic. I am always fond of the mysterious wanderer type of character and post apocolyptic is one of the best settings to do it in.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
I would be sooo interested in a ffrp set in a Fallout like world. I've been playing Fallout 3 in an obsessive manner. *squeaky grin*

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
I'd be very interested in an FFRP in a Fallout-esque setting.

Hey, whoever said it'd be either of those places?:smallwink:
I was thinking of someplace...different.
Like Kentucky.
Or Kansas.
Or Maine.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
southwest Arizona, its already a wasteland right now in small parts *squeaky grin* Plus it would have been a nice area for bombs to have stuck with the palo verde nuclear power plant just over *yonder* making it all extra inhospitable :smallwink:

Re-requesting.

Well, all you really need do for HALO is just make a character, and have them show up in the entrance hall. (Usually by the sub service from the surface, but there are more ways. :smalltongue: )
Then just go with it from there.
I think that may be a HALO specific thing, though, as I can't speak for anywhere else.

Well, the thread for planning Fallout in the Playground is up.
I need suggestions, friends.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
So, I have been in the FFRP for almost 5 years now, and I've always put links to my characters in my signature. However, I've made so many, in so many settings, that it's difficult to consolidate them. Is there a place I can just post the links from my sig, then make one overall link to replace them?
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
You can use a post in the Nexus registry thread, which is where my sig link goes to, if most of your characters are Nexus. Or a post in this thread is fine too. Or there's the extended signature thread in Friendly Banter. As long as it's a thread vaguely related to either signatures or characters, I can't see a problem with you appropriating a post from it as a parking place.

Well, about the same way you would in anything else.
What race are they? What do they look like? How would they react to some situations?
Then toss them in somewhere and really see how they react to some situations. :smalltongue:
There's a thread for character sheets, too, that's always a good spot to start.
And that thread is right here!

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Hmmm.
I've recently taken an interest in PbP stuff and I'm thinking about stepping into FFRP. Is that a semi-classic fantasy setting that could provide a sweet little succubus with a home? At the moment I'm think Trog's Tavern as I have a few ideas in mind but not sure how to get started....
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Trog's is an excellent place to start, and you can have your Succubus hang out there as long as you need until you feel brave enough to have her explore the larger Nexus. It's a mish-mash of classic fantasy, sci-fi, anime, and pretty much any other world that people feel like dragging in.
Most of the info you need can be found in the two links in my sig for newbies.
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Just for clarity, FFRP is not a single setting. It is a subforum devoted to free form roleplaying, which contains several different games within it.
The largest of these games/settings (as the two are rather the same due to how FFRP games work) is Nexus, which is the one you're looking at. You can identify which setting each thread belongs to by the tag it displays in the thread title. All of the Nexus threads, for example, have [Nexus] (or {Nexus} when people are feeling too fancy for regular, nicer looking brackets :smalltongue:) in the title.
Nexus is not exactly a classic fantasy setting though, it's more a giant conglomeration of settings with a tendency towards fantasy, but also some modern and sci-fi flare.

Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Has anyone tried making a zombie apocalypse ffrp yet?
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
Probably not. Competitive combat is hard.
-
Re: FFRP Central: All players start here!
I believe so, actually. Or something along those lines. I think at this point it's reasonable to say that we've tried most things, or at least suggested them or things thematically similar to then. Whether we'd like to re-try them, however, is a question worth asking.
