Ew, ew and double-ew.
I like vampires that make people go "ew!" rather than "ooh, shiny!".
I don't think anybody was seriously surprised that Tara turned out to be the real killer, but the choice of vampire type, however, offset that predictability a bit.
I had never heard of these Malay vampires. Way better than the western version, no way of making twilight out of these guys.
Hu, I didn't exoect it to be Tara but then again I hardly noticed her to be honest.
Eh... The first guy was too obvious, and the fact that she came with him made it likely to be her. But all that is based in genre savy and I don't fault characters in-story for lacking it. It's not their fault they don't know their lives are entirely fictional.
I didn't know who the "real" vampire would be, I just knew it would be whoever Edgar took with him.
Nice. A non-traditional vampire. Non sparkly too.
(My niece posted on Facebook that Edward lives in the forest and is sparkly. So clearly he's not a vampire, he's a fairy! I love my niece! Hehehe!)
Now that's a filler comic with a sense of humor!
Man have I missed Lewie.
So I didn't read YAFGC for a couple of years, and now I'm back. Read the whole of YAFGC within 32 hours, is this bad?:smalltongue:
A conniving, honey-tongued backstabber? Probably. But still, this new drow is awesome, if only for the face she inspires in her sister panel 2).
Yeah those facial expressions are awesome.
You'd think a bunch of evil monsters would spot manipulation as obvious as this. Of course there is also the chance that she is in fact chaotic good and is genially trying to be friendly. :smalltongue:
I think she's just messing with the Drow queen. You're not really generous when you're giving other people stuff away.
Does she even have the slightest authority to decide any of those things anyway? :smallconfused:
Better question: How many times is the same comic just going to be rephrased? We've had it three times in a row so far... :smallannoyed:
I think what's happening is disguised filler. It was probably a single long page of such interactions repeated, but split into tiny bits to make it last longer while the author tries to overcome a writer's block or focuses his time outside the comic.
With that said, I saw something interesting in the YAFGC forum so I'm quoting it:
The idea that she's giving away all that stuff not (only) because she's attempting to contradict her sister all the time and ingratiate herself to everybody else; but because it'd fit the long-term interest of the drows is intriguing. I don't know if that's the angle Rich Morris is going for, but if it is, it has good worldbuilding and storytelling potential for future arcs.Quote:

Huh... He missed a day. I'm not complaining... I mean, it's a daily comic afterall... Just seems a bit noteworthy. I only recall it ever happening once before and that was because his kid was born.
I wonder if something happened. If so, I hope it was something small like internet problems or the like...
I suppose.
And he put up a double one today, so make sure you don't overlook the first of the two. I almost did.
Thus says the person who's never had to look after a newborn. :smalltongue:
Having had two of my own, I understand what he's going through (including the trip to the chemists to buy some things and dealing with an understanding assistant when I could remember what I needed, but forget what they were called, due to less than two hours sleep spread over an eight hour period), so if the comic's late then the comic's late.
I wasn't certain whether sis was actually a nice drow or not... but after the look on her face in 2009 I'm sure she's up to something bad... hurting queeny's power and making friends at the same time... I wonder why she doesn't go against it more strongly. Not like it's up to her to decide, or did I miss something?
"Kill them with kindness"
I have this strange feeling that she'll replace the queen and everyone will be happy about for several minutes before it turns out she's even worse. Of course my track record for guesses hasn't exactly been perfect. :smalltongue:
Not if she's even remotely more competent at keeping the people in line. Getting the guards very loyal (as loyal as drow are anyway) and smacking down on anyone with an iron fist is a true and tested method at the mountain.
Or maybe she's just a lot better at manipulating than keeping power. It's so hard to guess without knowing anything about her.
EDIT
Looks like we'll find out soon enough. Lolth is still awesome. :smallcool:
And so Queen Mary succeeds to Queen Elizabeth. (Though Mahr'i is a lot more transparent than Alzaer'bith).
Ah, drow being drow. :smallamused:
