There aren't really any gnomes in Nordica.

I figure it will be more that technically he doesn't lie, but manages to manipulate and misrepresent the truth in a way that gets them to think in a way he wants.

Maybe but A) He lost his cool on that last one - he could lose it further.
B) I don't think he'll have to lie. you need to lie to make false accusations but NOT to present real evidence and let the other party draw their own false conclusions.
-
Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Exactly. Why lie when you can misdirect?

Personally I'd expect Rust to deliberately fail, and then (as others have mentioned) tell the technical truth to still mislead.
After all, there is nothing so suspicious as someone making the save against lie detection.

When asked if he is misleading the king, he will say
Quote:
Well Minister, if you ask me for a straight answer, then I shall say that, as far as we can see, looking at it by and large, taking one thing with another in terms of the average of departments, then in the final analysis it is probably true to say, that at the end of the day, in general terms, you would probably find that, not to put too fine a point on it, there probably wasn't very much in it one way or the other. As far as one can see, at this stage.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Just asking, Are the drows in you comic same as Drow (as in endowment, beauty and clothing)? I mean it is possible to fell in love with drows.
P.S- who in the right mind would mate with a orc or a hobgoblins (Drows are okay) since they are ugly, and Kagoans are too racist to force them to mate.

...Wow... just... wow :smallannoyed: Excuse me while i try to make sense of what you're asking...
@Drow: The drow are not just sex objects, even in DnD. No idea what you could mean by clothing, but if you mean culturally, I doubt it. Just because they're based on drow doesn't mean they are the same thing. Yes, it is possible to fall in love with drow, what's your point?
@PS. A) God forbid someone who wasn't a complete racist like the rest of Kago fell in love with someone they -according to their culture- aren't supposed to. >.>
B) Are you seriously suggesting that thinking less of someone based on their race is a reason they WOULDN'T treat them as if they had no right to refuse?

You clearly haven't been on the Internet long enough. There's dragon-having-sex-with-cars porn out there. A hobgoblin is tame by comparison.
And don't draw a picture of Tinder having sex with a car.

Just for reference: "ugly" is not the same as "unlovable". Even so, it is a highly subjective term that varies greatly upon the person describing them. Saying "who in their right mind would mate with an ugly person" is like saying that successful romance is based completely off how beautiful/handsome the people involved are.
Besides, it's not as if Kago is the only country with Plavaan nearby. There are probably several half-orcs and half-goblins in Runite, where the Plavaan are allowed to mix with the other races on a much more equal basis. That's not even counting any other countries that might border the Alavaan plains.

I think I should stop being racist towards hobgoblins and goblins.

I think it would be A.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I wonder if Rust will use his magic to hide his lie (even with Detect Lie thingy spell) or proceed to murder Lord Murphy and the Cleric.

I think murdering them is something he's going to do later.
At the moment at least, he can manipulate them into doing his work for him.
In all likelihood, he's just going to say things that are neither lies nor the whole and unambiguous truth.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
Fooling someone is not necessarily lying to someone. We need a Detect Dishonesty spell.

I would not want to be in the team that works out how that spell works...

That already exists, it's called the sense motive skill.

Bro, it's OK.
You can take a little more time off if you need it.
Getting a 4.00 grade average is definitely more important than us.
As a note: YES. I KNOW SHE'S A GIRL.
That dispute happened last time I said "bro." I use it indiscriminately.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
NO, I say! Clearly the fact that Coffee has chosen to give us high-quality content for free makes her a serf. Work! *whiplash* Work, I say! *whiplash*

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I dont understand why you dont want us to buy you a tablet,

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
A "tablet" would be something like this, I reckon?
Also, secret fan-talk-circle/e-group-huddle now, Coffee, if I might kindly ask you not to read the following? :smallwink:
Spoiler
Show
Super Dark would cover the clown, so that's settled. Asta kinda is one, so that probably works out. I can take credit for this idea, and everyone else will pay. Now someone find out what college she goes to and obsessively pilfer the web for more information on her, then we all chip in and get that tablet over there, whether she wants to or not! WHO'S WITH ME, HERE? :smalltongue::smallbiggrin:
Kidding. Probably. Though really, it's fine, Coffee. Just take your time. We can wait, after all. If just barely. Or not at all. OH GOD, WHERE AM I GONNA GET MY COM-FIX FROM? UAAAAAAAAAGH! :smalleek: Seriously though, just you focus on your grades now, it'll be alright. After all, I figure there are plenty deadlines all around, no need to beat yourself up over self-set update ones.

Re: Murphy's Law 8: College? What About It?
I'm sorry, but I can't do this comic without a tablet; even the first panel will be terrible without it...

Ok. We'll wait.
It's not a big deal, you still update faster than a lot of fan-comics. I'd even still read Shards of Siberys if it came back.
