New comic is up.
Ah, wonderful, I was just ready for some exposition.
(what I mean is - I was on the point of getting lost in the Tarquin plot and losing sight of the main plot line. So having some real information, plus considerable analysis, is just exactly what I wanted right now. Superb timing).
Great, we are back to the plot
... wow, I literally just woke up. This is awesome!
I'm amused that Elan, of all people, was the one to realize Girard wouldn't trust them if Nale talked about the OOTS working with the Sapphire Guard.
I saw it coming as soon as Tarquin mentioned the race, but "Spoiler Alert" still had me cracking right up.
This does explain some things, they never say that girard is human, but it is assumed so, why he would be alive after all this time is almost an impossible notion. however his son/grandson seems like a much more plausible theory.
This also does bring up another theory, since he is a master illusionist, wouldnt the best way to make sure no one ever found him is to make sure never ever saw the real him. How do we know that the girard we have seen is not just some form of disguise self and the tattoo may only be needed for a reason?
either way i believe the son/grandson is more likely, but it does add a new twist.
I LOVE Tarquin's "Spoiler Alert" Great Job Giant.
All right, looking forward to the race. Somehow I suspect it will be a three-way race as I don't think Tarquin's done just yet.
I know, I know, it's not in the works, but this is making me want to see a Tarquin-Prequel more and more.
Anyways, great comic as always giant!
Well, now that Tarquin knows where Nale will be, we can be almost certain that at least Malack will be there to great him. :smallamused:
Discern Lies & Sense Motive show how far our adventurers have gone in acquiring some common sense. But I can't help but think they're not nearly curious enough about how and why Penelope died. Tarquin didn't lie here. But he sure didn't tell them everything.
I'm just intrigued to find out what plotline the Giant has cooked up involving Girard's 15 year-old granddaughter, who is also Nale and Elan's stepsister.
Huh... when was the last time we had a 1.5 page comic?
It's weird to see Elan being a mental half-step ahead of everyone else...
Gee I like Elan's dad. From a safe distance of course.
And Fantasy Fantasy is hilarious.
Hmmm - if the year count wasn't off, I would start betting that Orrin is Haley's dad (with the beard hiding the tattoo) and the missing red-haired girl is... :haley:
:haley: is over 15, right? this isn't a comic that is going to get Giant sent to jail? :smalleek:
(bracing for a big revelation on those prisoner files!)
Although maybe the years aren't that off and Giant is giving us a hint in Durkon's whisper... maybe Penelope was just lying about her age
The trouble with siring children then taking them is what happens when they wonder who their mother is? Sooner or later, a moody teenager is going to run off and look, even if you tell them their mother's dead. You could keep them prisoner if you're that nasty but I don't think Girard could do that.
Huh, so Tarquin may not have been behind the 'mysterious circumstances' after all? Clearly we've all misjudged him and he's actually lawful good! :smalltongue:
Tarquin should definitely become a regular
The daughter is not Haley.
I don't normally say stuff like that so bluntly, but I thought it best to nip this one in the bud. Haley is 25 or so, Penelope's daughter would be 15. In fact, I put the line about it being 15 years in specifically to avoid people speculating that it was Haley.
Sorry, no can do - Haley already told us her age. Further evidence.
EDIT: Damn it, ninja'd by a giant.
Eh, fan's will come up with any theory.
Oh wow, I wasn't expecting this! Especially not Elan's burst of intelligence.
OOTS forum rule #1: any character with red hair is potentially Haley.
OOTS forum rule #2: any character without red hair but with a similar hair style is a member of Haley's supposed "mystery race", and proof that she's part angel/devil/succubus/elf/whatever. (All because the forum thinks that "I'm not exactly what you'd call a nice girl" or something to that effect, makes less sense than "I'm not exactly what you would call human").
More rules to come in a more comprehensive post. They may include things like how every single strip someone will complain that it's just filler, gripes about things not fitting according to D&D rules, etc. :smalltongue:
I love Z's cameo in panel #11 (as Polozius). Maybe Penelope's 'friend' wasn't Sabine after all...
Very very interesting.
And I'm pretty sure Girard's [great-?]granddaughter is just someone new. The only female character I can think of who might be young enough is Tsukiko (who's not the right skin colour, but we are dealing with illusionists, I guess). Even then, I'd peg her at around 16~21 before the time skip.
