It would be really really terrible if Zee decided to start actively waking up the other Old Ones. Because it would be absurdly easy for her to do so. Would basically consist of standing up and pulling some tombs open and giving them a good prodding.
Because a good prodding can wake up just about anyone.
Zee doesn't respond to the statements made though.
She's just...
Staring at the wall.
Blankly.
Vacant.
Staaaaaaaaring.
Harnel moves up to Zee, squelching out of deadtime. He ignores Despair for now - Undead were citizens here too, and he wasn't about to start something.
He also seems to be taking Zee's insanity streak in stride, "Alright, what's something for me to do?"
And Zee wouldn't even have to open a tomb to wake up that eldritch abomination over there. Yes, the cat. Sleeping on the table. That's the one. :smalleek:
The little elf makes the best chocolate chip cookies imaginable. What he should actually trust is something he has yet to decide on, so for now he's going to only believe in the cookies. He goes around offering the delicious treats to anyone who looks remotely like they might want a cookie. Which is to say, everyone.
Well these are just the worst case thoughts a bit of paranoya isn't that bad, if you know at what point you overdo it.
"Eh Yes I would also help you out whereever I can."
Andy will disinfect and bandage her wound. He just prepares for some reactions by the disinfection.
((Deadtime))
Karaglen has appeared over by Zee's legs about now, staring up at her with a little bit of concern.
Or a lot of bit of concern.
Debating whether idle "staaaaaaaaaaring" warrants a good poke or shake.
So instead she jumps up and down a bit, waving her hands in front of Zee's face.
"Zeee! Stay with us!"
Meanwhile, she's busily pondering a way to reverse or slow some of this crazy.
Maybe if she can find a way to infuse energy into the barmaid, counter-act the sleep deprivation...
Darst gets the message, the flammables, and gets going.
Good luck, you crazy dwarf. He's gonna need it.
Ally takes a big sip as well, hoping that neither the wine nor the glass was drugged.
Trying to stick positive energy into Zee is like trying to fill up a glass of water that's already filled to the brim with vegetable oil. The two don't mix very well and you just make a mess everywhere.
Which is exactly what happens.
"GAAAAH!" Zee cries as opalescent white 'blood' begins to seep out of her mouth and nose and eyes and ears. She crumples over into a heap and starts... uuh...
Dissolving.
It's only a matter of moments before there's nothing more than a bubbling puddle quickly growing into a nice little patch of moss and wildflowers.
The tendril that had been sticking out of Zee's back goes slithering off through the wall and vanishes.
Ummm...
Jakob appears genuinely alarmed.
Oh. NOW we're screwed. :smalleek:
Raril's startled awake by the sound of his wife screaming. He jumps to his feet and rushes to her side, but... she was gone. Dissolved away.
"Zee?! No! No..." The drow watches the tendril disappear through the wall with some hope. That was part of her. Perhaps her mask had just broken?
"What happened?" He demands of those nearby.
Nothing's drugged, though the wine itself is actually very good. Ashley sets her glass down, smiling a bit. "So, how've you been since I left? Besides asleep."
The little elf looks terrified. He clutches his cookie in fear, and shrugs at the drow asking questions. She went crazy and melted! :smalleek:
THAT CAT shifts in its sleep again.
Harnel looks at raril, as shocked as he is, "I don't know - that was healing magic, wasn't it?" He rubs his forehead, "The wasn't all of her, right? We'll just have to go talk to her elsewhere. It's all we can d right now."
The floor trembles with a significant earthquake as something absurdly large rises out of the ground all around Inside. Something that stretches from the sea all the way to the mountains in the far distance. Bottles rattle and shelves topple as the ground heaves and sways.
Anyone who ruses to a window (which is a dumb thing to do during an earthquake) will be met with a maddening sight. Monstrous, unnatural, colossal, is the thing--too far beyond all the ideas of man to be believed except in the silent damnable small hours of the morning when one cannot sleep.
Like a living mountain of obsidian, rivers of earth pouring from its flanks, star-like lights flashing across its form. There it stands, an impossible blasphemy that will no doubt consume the minds and sanity of everything tha-
...eerr...
What's it doing?
Is it scratching it's hind leg?
Karaglen's eyes go wide as Zee flails, bleeds, and dies.
She takes a couple steps back, before looking down at her hands.
Couple more steps backtick.
"Nononononononono..."
Back towards that sword.
"Nononono..."
Pick(tick) up the sword.
"Accident...no..."
Run.
As fast as she can, out of the tavern.
Tick.
The earth shakes, but the girl's wings just pop out from her dress, lifting her up off the ground for stability.
She doesn't care that the world is breaking here.
She needs to be somewhere else.
Instinct for a creature that can fly is a bit different during an earthquake. Harnel immediately runs... out of the tavern, taking wing into the air. After all, you can't get crushed by something if nothing is over top of you
Despair is thrown around by the quake, but he doesn't fall over. Partially because his upper body is held upright by mystical forces. The shaking, however, does snap him out of the reverie he's been stuck in since the Black Sun rose.
"What's going on?"
The Mage, on the other hand, is knocked to the floor, though thankfully he isn't hurt due to his heavy nigh-indestructible armor.
As soon as he gets up, Jakob looks out the window at the large Abomination. He hasn't quite connected it with Zee yet.
"Well. That certainly can't be good. Ideas?"
Raril may have noticed Karaglen's reaction, but it was then that the tavern began to shake. Every instinct the drow had was screaming 'cave in'. He dives for the cover of a heavy wooden table to ride out the quake. There he hides until the worst was over, muttering prayers in his native tongue.
The tiny elf, being a tiny elf, falls off the table he was on when the earth starts to shake. He decides to stay on the floor, hiding under the table and clutching his cookie, for a while.
THAT CAT also falls off its table. The earthquake, combined with the Warden's awakening, wakes up the little beastie again. Immediately, it complains. Loudly. Much louder than a small black cat its size should be able to.
"MRRRRRREEEOW!!!" :smalleek:
It leaps straight up into the rafters, and clings there.
...
Upside-down, on the underside of a beam. :smallconfused:
While Despair's still thrashing around trying not to die again, Jakob dissolves into luminescent Cyan dust and escapes out the window.
Unfortunately for Garrett, Zee is now a puddle of goo.
She died.
Karaglen ran out of the tavern in utter panic for causing it.
Meanwhile, Xeni suddenly snaps back to attention and begins moving towards the door.
Then pauses. Looks around.
Neither Zee nor Kara were here.
The first wasn't surprising. But...what happened to Kara?
The mage gives a frustrated little yell.
"Has anyone seen what happened to the silver-haired girl?"
If someone ate her, he's busily pondering how to make them regret it.
THAT CAT has calmed down from being Awakened. Now it is rather cross, and hungry. The little black kitten blinks out of existence and reappears on a table. It swivels its head and glares at every living, and non-living, thing in the tavern with its pitch black eyes. Its claws, which now are distinctly not proportional to the size of the kitten (they look like they belong to a tiger), cut long gouges in the wood of the table.
"Meow."
It pronounces the word eloquently and threateningly, as if it weren't a small black kitten. :smallconfused:
Ally looks around in confusion, then drains her wineglass and stands up. Uh, yeah... That sounds good.
It's both remarkably believable, but also probably definitely a lie at the same time! Reinholdt doesn't know how to feel about this!
"Of course. I'm reasonably sure he tracks my movements anyways."
Reinholdt can tell since Magtok just ran in and just ran out for whatever reason!
"Sooo... you have your own name then?"
Okay dead Zee and most ran out to see what is there.
And then an earthquake. Luckyly Andy was just on all four befor it begans so he pass it without any problems.
He will then ran out of the tavern to see where Harnel went and what is going on outside.
