I think he was called Bozzak in OtOoPC.

Given that Elan, Belkar, and V have rather specific ideas as to what the Oracle was like, obviously the intent is that the memory charm causes the subject’s brain to make up details appropriate to the subject’s expectations. That one of those details should be the Oracle’s sex or gender should hardly be surprising.

...I know. That's obvious. It just seems that Roy and Durkon changed their minds, since they both referred to the Oracle as a she in the prequel. Of course they decide according to their expectations, I've been saying that the whole time.

Oh, okay. So it's not like "Garbarbarfituse" or something completely different.

No, just a different letter. Bozzok, Bozzak.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Maybe it's his first and last names? Bozzok Bozzak sounds kinda awesome.

I assume you mean Girard and no.

And yes, I meant Girard.
Thanks.

No it is not, she is seen from the same angle. Actually i think it is the same shirt but she just make it more revealing.

I just noticed that Elan is full of cactus spines in the last but one panel here: 692
Also, in 696, he actually writes into sand "gate!!1!".

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Jenny appears in panel 3 of 581

Not to mention the extra ace in the blond's boot.

I'm pretty sure it's an art error, the V-neck is missing in the first panel by mistake.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Personally I think the mistake is its presence in the sixth panel. :smalltongue:

He's actually a doppelganger and for a second forgot to concentrate on maintaining his shapechange completly

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I just realized that Roy's "mistake" in asking his question of the Oracle (leaving out Soon's gate) actually meant that he didn't waste his question. He didn't need the Oracle to tell him that Soon's gate was next, but he did need to know where Xykon was going after Azure City.

But had Roy discovered that Azure City was next to be attacked they would have had much longer to prepare. They could have called all their forces back, maybe gotten support from the other allies including the Elves. Their high level members could have scry and died a portion of the army. Plus Miko probably wouldn't have fallen and that high level Wizard would have been alive.

If it wasn't for Nale butting in and delaying them, then it would have been a waste.
In the grand scheme of things, Roy's question was very helpful, but if it weren't for a meddling bad guy, the Order would have probably missed the war (not that they did much in regards to the Gate, but Hinjo would probably be dead).

Not by much: the OOTS takes no time getting to Cliffport, takes three-and-a-half days to return (as stated in #387), fights the Linear Guild that very night, and Miko returns with the news the next day.

And Lien, and Daigo, and Kazumi... in other words, hooray, the people whose names I know are saved! :smalltongue:

They must have returned to Azure City before going to Cliffport in order to pick up Lord Shojo's wizard, so that would have been at least four days' additional warning the city would have got. Plus they would have had a teleporting wizard who could go out and fetch some of the higher level Sapphire Guard from wherever they happened to be, and Xykon showed what a difference some high-level people could make!

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
None of which changes this one fact: they knew where to go afterwards because of Roy's question, phrased the way it was.

And that doesn't change this one fact: if they'd stopped Xykon at Azure City--which they might have been able to, given enough warning--there wouldn't have been any need to go anywhere afterwards!

The biggest difference isn't even really the battle. Its one person likely not being in place to make the most egregious mistake of the comic. Miko's final break very likely wouldn't have happened(at least not in the same way) and Miko being anywhere else during the battle but where she is would have allowed Soon to kill Xycon.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Okay, so in 126 Elan suggests that even though he has never been seen studying with Vaarsuvius, it should be retroactively assumed that he did anyway. This doesn't work because V objects. Then later, in 217, he simply asserts that he has been studying with V, even though we still haven't seen that, and since V isn't around to object, it actually works.
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I would call that an Alternate Interpretation. The only reason it 'didn't work' the first time is because Elan ended up not going for a Wizard level after all.
Besides which, later we DO see Vaarsuvius giving Elan help with his illusions, so the notion that it happened earlier isn't crazy in any way.

Offpanelo vs Notseenicus.
I really wish I saw that fight, it sounds like it was awesome. Also, Enor is described as a "Blue Dragon Thing," which made me chuckle a bit for some reason.
