Nevah! :smalltongue:
But for the most part, I definitely agree. Very few movie adaptations of books are nearly as good as the book was. There are a few special cases, but otherwise...

Ive read both Stardust book and movie. I liked the book. But I Hearted the movie. The movie was much more fanciful and enchanting.

:smallsigh: The waiting is always the best part.

Yeah North, you're right. Basicaly, I'm just happy with the results so far. This day pretty much crawled nowhere. I'm guessing doctors were quite sick of me, seeing I was always on the phone, asking for informations.
I appreciate all the nice words and thoughts, you guys and girls. It means a lot to me. Right now, I can't do much but wait. I'll let you knwo when more informations are avalaible.

Not to disrupt the mood, but this thread needs more random combustion.

Phantom of the Opera.
Those two make amazing movies, and the books? Meeeh.
I beg to differ on PotO, really.
But that's because there's so much more Phantom-y goodness.

My opinion is that the Phantom is just that much more awesome when you can hear him singing.
...and Andrew Lloyd Webber is a genius, and that helps.

Did anyboy else see this commercial for the superbowl?

I was intrigued and looked up the song on youtube. I was fairly impressed this girl shows some real musical talent.

Glad to hear it. I'll keep praying for her.

She's got the talent, but her voice isn't the best. I'll still keep an eye on her though.

I'm obligated to inform you that my opinion is more important than yours, and that the world revolves around me. So sorry. :smalltongue:
If you would like to make a complaint, please feel free to fill out a form and send it to my PM box, where I will promptly have trained chimpanzees tear it apart and then fling poo at you. :smallwink:

Princess Bride: never read. It has a lot to live up to.
Phantom: I really liked the book but I haven't seen the musical.
And one of the best ever book to film adaptations I have ever seen was Sky One's TV movie of The Hogfather. Kept to the book very faithfully.
One of the worst: Any Potter or LoTR film. [/ends that discussion right there just in case]
And Bath is a God. I have a Freddie avvie! Queen is my favourite band ever.
News: I found my leavers book last week after losing it sonce last June. It's really sweet what people wrote in there.

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Curly, may I know let you know that I am in love with that lovely avatar Bath has done for you?
Queen just happens to be one of my favorite bands as well.
::bows to the Freddie-Curly::

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Curly, let me say that your new avatar is awesome. Who is it supposed to be though? Freddy Mercury?
-
Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Have to agree. This is a great Avvie.
But I think we will soon have a LotR-quarrel (I have about 15 DVD's and all Books and I can say that the books are quite good but the movies and the books are unbeatable.)

What?:smallconfused:
Also, at the risk of being run out of town while covered in hot tar, your avie doesn't do anything for me.

When British people leave secondary (around 15/16 yrs old) they generally bring in a notebook or something that they call their Leaver's Book.
At my school we all brought in our own (some schools publish their own) and had friends, teachers and people we'd miss sign them. Even if we were going to the same college.
It's kind of to commemorate our change from childhood (and obligatory education) into adulthood (and optional education).
Also, because we feel sappy and we're not likelt to see everyone from our old school ever again.
All of my comment that I have just brought a smile to my face.
Some are so sweet.
Maybe I'll get quotations.

I've never purchased one of my school's yearbooks. I will this year for two reasons: I'm helping to make it and it's my last year here. I hate my picture for it though. I'm all shiny. :smallyuk:
Also, I wanna doodle on people.
The program we're using to make the yearbook is pretty nifty. I might get to do my grade's mugshots page.
-
Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Supposedly, the only movie EVER to have surpassed its book is The Godfather. It's not a fact or anything, but it's what I've heard from people. Some friends told me that several critics agree on it or something.
No, I'm not a reliable source.
On Yearbooks:
I hate them. I was in the yearbook council thing a few years ago. The plan was to go on vacation and leave the book printing to be delivered the following year after we'd been working all year on it.
What happened? We received our copies and it turned out the teachers had heavily edited all of our work in the yearbook, removed many of our ideas and added their own. When we asked why, they said "because we didn't like it."

Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
Yeah the Princess Bride movie was phenomal. But the book existed on that level above even that.
Inigo love the buttercup avvy. Has her expression perfect:smallbiggrin:
-
Re: Haruki's Historically Hilarious Honey-covered Random Banter #94
I liked the book and the movie, however, the book excelled at the descriptions of things. Such as the traps Inigo and Fezzic had to make it through (nearly accidentally) to rescue Wesley.
