Indeed, the onl;y plot that cannot be used is, of course, CoN. It's a pretty strange plot.
I'd like to join, but I've learned that joining lots of plots is a bad idea. I'll have my hands full with just 3.

Wait, I voted for Back to the Future? I don't remember that.
Ah well, it's a good movie, so if I didn't vote for it earlier I'll vote for it now. Partly because I've seen Holy Grail a billion and one times.

Damnit. Went through all the trouble to make an All-Star ABR comic, but I didn't exactly save it.
I'll have to make it again. :smallsigh:

I made a comic, you see, but didn't save it. I just pressed "publish to web", to save the comic with a PNG format. Usually I save it first, but that creates two of the same comic in my files. I just assumed "publish to web" was the same as saving, only that I could publish it afterwards.
All it did was turn my beautiful comic into a small-pixely piece of crap that is unreadble. I suppose I'll save it for good next time. :smallsigh:

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
Anywho... this is an idea for a All-Star character...
http://i467.photobucket.com/albums/r...e/Jpenguin.png
He's called Jpenguin.
The good news is I got permission from Kpenguin to do this, the bad news is he won't play it so consider this a casting call.
Jpenguin anyone... Party leader (there's going to be one main group) provided he finds a player.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
Alright, I'm casting a vote as to what would consist the plot of the first chapter of FI, since without a goal most people will lose interest, and the current one is a bit too vague:
- Race for the MacGuffin (cliché and overdone, but effective)
- Warfare (fighting over territories, it needs a lot of co-ordination and well-done geography, my favourite)
- Nothing (let it flow, but most people will lose interest after a few comics, not knowing what they should do)
- Other suggestions (please specify)

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
What's current one?:smallconfused:
Also, why not everything at once?
-
Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
It's just the ALF fighting against the UNA, not many details.

Nothing. We should just let it pan out, but if somebody comes up with a plot we can all follow we should follow it.
There is enough planning as it is. And I think we should allow a plot that can have some manipulation. Allow the possibility that somebody can make a sub-plot that is almost unrelated and that your character could be important.
While this might not sound like the best possible story-telling, it will make things fun and unpredictable in my opinion.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
Well, yes.....dividing plot like that doesn't make much sense to me. I guess people choose themselves what they want to do:smallsmile:

The MacGuffin idea is my favorite at the moment, at least for the very beginning of FI. Simply because it would give people an easy goal to aim for. However, we can't make everyone just go and do one thing. So we should put the choice of finding the MacGuffin out there, but still let people have the freedom to do their own thing.
The "warfare" idea would require far too much coordination between people and would only serve to slow down the plot before it's even started rolling. While I can see it working, I think it's better off as something left until the middle stages of FI.
As for the MacGuffin in question, I'd like to bring that idea up again involving the lich Lor Nae. With both the ALF and the UNA searching through a zombie infested city in search of [insert object here] in order to get the lich on their side.
The zombies would also serve as easy cannon fodder, so people can easily show off the abilities of their characters and their side's mooks. That way everyone would get a sort of feel for each others character's before we get into any actual pc vs pc fights.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
Zombie land sounds awesome. Unless anyone contests, I think we should take this as our beginning plot.

Nothing. We'll let it come naturaly.

Re: ABR Discussion Thread XXVIII: Read it or Chris the celestial will set you on fire
I'm not talking about forcing everyone to follow a single story, I'm just asking for the main goal at the beginning of FI. People can do anything they want as long as it makes sense and it isn't completely unrelated to the story. The Nothing option simply means that the first comic is going to present the setting and the characters are starting in their own locations, with no aim apart from the "UNA vs ALF" one.
Here are the results of the vote:
- City of the Dead (5: Mad Mask, The Q, -skimmer-, Tiffanie Lirle, CrimsonAngel)
- Nothing (1: Nameless)

I personally think that not all things have to be completely related. It sounds like it would be a lot more interesting and unpredictable a story if we can have seperate sub-plots in the same setting with only minor connection to what's going on in the main story.

Do you mean like "Corrupt UNA officer must be dispatched by Peacekeepers", or "In a distant non-UNA island, Doom McEvil prepares his plan to kill the king"?
When I mean "totally unrelated sub-plots", I'm talking about the latter.
