It isn't, but that's neat!
Storm Silver could be cool. I'm actually kind of glad there's not a Moe version of it (sorry, not a fan of moe).
For your in-story explanation for why you can talk to some pokemon and not others... why not make it a plot point (kind of like the whole one with the land thing was for Fox in this Let's Play)? Most trainers have an affinity for one type of pokemon which they can communicate directly with. This explains why the majority of trainers in the world use monotype teams, despite having a good mix being obviously superior in every way. But StormSilver? He's an outlier. When offered the chance to pick one of the three starters, he shocks the professor by being able to speak with all 3 of them. The rules still say he can only have one, but this still gets the professor interested, and is what gets you involved with the research/pokedex, being sent out into the world to try to find/catch one of every type to find out just what it is you can and cannot communicate with (which seems to be entirely random, maybe with some pattern developing as the series draws to its close).
Such a bitter-sweet feeling, seeing the conclusion of a great adventure. :smallsigh:
That was an amazing journey and I am glad to have been a witness to it.
Thanks for sharing the story, Deme. I look forward to the next.
