That was the first time you've ever managed that. You've meditated on the mysteries for years, and it finally succeeds. What you didn't expect, however, was just how jarring the trip would be. When you get to a landmark you remember several hundred feet back, it is all you can do to steady yourself, and don't grab your potion like you had expected. That jarring also took you out of Crane Style.

R4T25: The mental static from Green continues.

Meanwhile, a thin mist - not one that necessarily hinders or obscures vision - rises up in the middle of the hallway. None of the already insane people are affected, but someone came in with a (re-)"fresh"(-ed) mind, and while nothing particular is happening, he feels like this mist is sapping his will, making it very hard to focus his thoughts and be wary of his surroundings.

R4T24: The Scribe comes flying in from the north along the western wall, comes off it so as not to collide with Darius and for a brief second he is in the middle of the hallway. For the shortest moment, he seems to have to realign from breathing in the mists but finally rallies, and with Xin-Rithux he stabs both Green and Blue 20 + 1 fire before he continues well south.

R4T23: Genki takes 1 bleed. He performs self-harm again for 4.

R4T22: Static from Blue continues. Iluvar, The Scribe, and Bian Jin are too far to be affected. Genki no longer needs to roll.

R4T19: Telgarana is too wrapped up in her own mental schism to be bothered by anything like will-sapping mist. She cuts herself with the edge of her super-sharp sword for 9.

R4T18: Telgarana finally breaks free fully from the grasp and Red, recognizing a free agent on the field, sends a mental image directly into Telly's mind. Having long ago worked through her fears, she is completely unbowed by the attempt to slayer her from within her own mind.

R4T13-11: Jin feels himself valiantly repel the static screen and imagines himself slaying the creatures. Meanwhile, the creature he goes to vanquish that he thinks is one of these big, eggplant-colored slugs ... is actually Genki! He switches the energy in his earrings, which has him briefly slur for a second or two, but he is still in control of timing after that, and now his gauntlets and polearm's blade roils with even more violent energy. Remembering ... something about .... what he sees, he goes for normal precision rather than focused aggression or defense. All three attacks sent, and all three rebuffed.

R4T8: Darius cleared his head several seconds earlier, early enough to see the coward Iluvar leave. He picks up his sword, takes a quick study of Genki, steps forward to give a falcon strike but it is a clumsy miss.

R5T4: Erima, roll three Will saves!

R5T4: Erima stands, but Telly has a sense of what is afoot, and is careful not to take advantage of Erima's vulnerability, which would send her back into a death spiral. Erima looks at first like she's about to cry out in anguish and hurt herself, but Telly sees Blue twitch and knows what to expect. Or at least, she thought she would, for there is a sound of snakes hissing all about, which then begins to concentrate as coming from Erima as the half-orc now sees Telly almost in a doubled-vision to help guide her blows to greater brutality.

Erima launches an attack with her greataxe, but Telgarana's defense is peerless. She redirects the blade from her and performs a riposte right to Erima's chest for 8 mod.

End Round 5, Begin Round 6 ...

R6T27: Iluvar, from hundreds of feet away and with no sense of the battlefield or its changes, you take 4 bleed. You have destruction and healing judgments - perfect for a Pharasmin who operates in life and death. But not operating in battle right now, those judgments (incl. healing) are dormant. As mentioned before, this was the first time ever using that power successfully, and you weren't ready for its effects. Also, you are no longer in Crane Style as you weren't really focusing after that. You never got your potion out as intended. What do you do?

R6T27: Iluvar fumblles a bit in the sudden change of light. His eyes adjusting, he realizes that not being in a combat he can neither call upon nor adjust his current judgment. He reaches into his pack and brings out a potion vial and downs it, receiving 15 healing.

R6T25: A burst of mental static from Green and inches back some from the opening.

Telgarana, ONLY IF you succeed at that save will another attack come in, so roll a second Will save, and just in case, follow that up with a Fort save.

R6T25: It is a hell of a battle, but finally, Telly is worn down and her mind succumbs yet again to the mental static.

R6T24: The Scribe sees that mist, and knows what it likely is. He takes out a wand and uses it on himself while looking for inspiration. He studies Erima and calls out, "Telly, it looks like Erima is lost to us. I would say you should bring her my way so we can knock her out. If she attacks, use non-lethal attack, if possible."

Of course, The Scribe doesn't realize that Telly herself just redescended into the mental scrum herself.

R6T23: Genki takes 1 bleed. He suddenly begins to move at an increased rate and makes a vicious spinning kick to Darius, missing.

R6T22: Blue's static goes outward. Meanwhile, it moves back forward, even crossing Green's track so it can sight the troublemaker to the south. The Scribe seems to grit with mental energy resisting something, but it passes quickly.

R6T19: Telly quickly tries to perform self harm rather than hurt Erima again. She still carries that guilt of the reflexive defense, and can't bear ... can't bear ... (Green twtiches). Telgarana the destoyer has returned, her face and mind set on murder of the foolish half-orc. She is very careful with concentration this time, as with one hand she throws colored sand out at Erima, though the latter resists the strobing effect easily enough. But that wasn't the real attack, just a visual distraction as her katana is given a draw cut across the back of Erima's knee for 14 mod, and then a cut across the side of Erima's belly for 12 mod.

R6T18: Mental static from Red, and it moves forward to the lip of the entrance.

Once more, mist rises up in the hallway, this time to the south. The Scribe, figuring it was going to go for maximum dispersal, was ready for it.

R6T11: Jin adjusts to flank with Darius and attacks Genki, who in turn attempts and fails an acrobatic counter. The Key to the Boneyard makes its first inauspicious strike as Genki is struck in the lower chest for for 16 + 4 cold + 3 electricity + 6 sonic. On his second attack, Genki ducks and strikes in a critical chi line for 1 CON. The third attack is, amazingly, deflected by Genki's toughened skin.

R6T8: Darius claims Genki. He switches to a one-handed stance, and then quick draws his kukri across Genki's chest for 41.

R6T4: Erima steps away from Telgarana ... finally. The sound of hissing snakes from without and finally centering on Erima is once again heard. She shifts and becomes a lot larger, but not as large as she could so she can maintain her distance from Telly. She swings downward, and it is obvious now that she is trying to shatter the black blade. Telly sees through this and simply does a twirling dodge deflecting it more out of irritating her foe than needing the parry.

End Round 6, Begin Round 7 ...

R7T27: Iluvar, what do you do? You are no longer bleeding, though still badly wounded.

R7T27: Iluvar casts a healing spell on himself (18) and begins moving towards his compatriots.

R7T25: Green sends out a wave of static, but otherwise prepares to defend itself.

R7T24: The Scribe puts his wand away and zooms just off the north end of the map. He takes a big breath as his mental energies realign.

R7T23: Genki takes 1 bleed and recovers his balance. With the kukri in his off-hand, it throws off Darius' defensive combat. It was fine for a cheap attack, but he didn't have the werewithal to toss the kukri when done and is now more vulnerable. Genki cracks the professor in the head for 20 + 18 disruption + entangled. Genki's return strike hits Darius in the back for 20 + 16 disruption to drop the professor. He steps up to Bian Jin to get blocked on the leading strike but the return strike hits his fellow Tian in the jaw for 11 + 9 disruption. His final two strikes are blocked.

R7T22: Mental static from Blue as it moves back some and gives Green space to maneuver. Blue prepares to defend itself.

R7T19: Telly, roll three Will saves (mental static from all three). If you manage to make all three saves and regain control of your mind, what do you do?

In the highly unlikely event that I make all 3 will saves I will use all actions to head back out of the mist and these bloody snakes are of influence. After using up my standard and move actions I will trigger my Quickrunner shirt for another move action if needs be to get out of this area.

R7T19: Telly doesn't even hesitate with other thoughts of action, stepping right up to Erima to strike her with as much focus and power as she can manage, striking Erima through a crack in her armor's upper right arm for 20 mod, dropping her half-orc rival.

R7T18: Static from Red, who drifts back and prepares for any incoming attack.

R7T11: Jin is likewise focused on attack, moving back and striking Genki in his right thigh for 17 + 6 cold + 3 electricity + 2 sonic. This drops Genki, but then Jin continues, ravaging Genki's body with the Key to the Boneyard.

R8T24: The Scribe moves in for an attack run. He still moves very quickly with the haste spell, but not quite at an impossible rate of speed. His ranseur impacts through a magical shield and off of Blue's scales. Before Blue can counter, The Scribe is already past Telgarana and to the south, resisting the last of the mists he has breathed in.

R8T22: Static from Blue, but Jin is to far away. Blue moves fully out into the hallway, rolling over Abra's body.

R8T19: Telly, roll three Will saves (Red and Blue's static, and then an AoE mental attack from Blue).
