Ah, that's my cue to mention that the story has already been written. If Biscuit dies here, there's a very good chance that was the plan well before we ever heard of him.

And Thunt mentioned him as "a new character" when just before he was introduced in the story. It seems to my that he needs to last longer than a dozen or so strips.
Unless I missed my Genre Savvy roll, the strip would in no way be served by his death at this point. We followed him away from Dies for some reason, and it would be crappy writing for it just to be to see him die. Thunt may not be an exceptional writer, but he is good enough to know that.
My main problem is pic 7, and the transition between 8 to 9. 7 just seems weird, and there really feels like something serious is missing between 8 and 9. Beyond that, t's got a decent flow.
there are other minor things, there's a chubby viper goblin that wasn't supposed to appear more then once, but has appeared more and more since the fans like him so much.
Joe Chubbs is the Derpy Whoves of Goblins.
New strip is up
SpoilerI think things are about to get very interesting for a certain goblin named Dies Horribly...
SpoilerALL HAIL CHIEF DIES HORRIBLY!
Or is that too predictable? Maybe I should change that to "Chief Saves a Fox."
Ouch. I'm not sure I like where that's going, but...interesting.
Woohooo! yeahhh! go goblins!
Cheif Horrible(y) has a nice ring to it, don't you think:smallamused:
I'm not sure that former slaves will consider you their friends. Even if they appreciate being made chief, they may not like the way it came about.
How did the goblin slaves get there in the first place, I can't remember.
same way dies did. They wandered too close to viper territory and were taken in to dig the passage to the dungeon.
Also: "Unless you have backing, your tribe might as well kill you and get a new chief of their teller choice's." That is, if the new chiefs don't have her help their life might be in danger.
Duv is the chosen leader of her race. She doesn't just SAY that, she's got wings and will live five times longer than any of her followers if not killed. This is a thing that happens in this world. She really DOES have the right to expect other goblins to follow her without question. Heck, a lot of clans probably will. They're not all nice guys like the GAP.
I doubt it'll be so easy. I mean in DND living longer and growing wings might not be common, but they're also not exactly impossible considering some of the feats and templates out there. I can think of like three different ways to get a winged goblin at what her apparent level.
The thing you've got to realize is that in a DND world with that many magic items and demons and stuff running around is proving you're the real prophecised deal is still going to be hard. Especially since DND has enough chosen heroes you can pretty much graph them as a percentage of the population by default.
I'll have to re-read the archives, but I wasn't aware that Duv and her clan were held in such high regard by all of goblinkind. Guh, that's going to take a lot of reading.
Its not her clan, its her. There are all these prophecies out there that specifically state that this winged goblin will take over the goblin tribes and lead them to glory or some such thing. Basically, that she is fated to rule over the gobbos. That being said, I am SERIOUSLY waiting for her little spectacle to backfire in some horrible way. The orb takes her other wing, or she gets some hideous mutated wing to replace it.
well not the clan itself, but Duv is, She's essentially an Avatar of their god, profitsized to rise up and unite all of goblinkind. as far as i remember what if any clan she was going to be a part of is not mentioned.
Look in the archives for when MM and Forgath are looting the abandoned goblin warcamp, forgath finds something on her in YaB's tent.
Not sure if we have seen the position of other clans towards the viper-clan.
To save some time, you can start with the introduction of the White Terror :smallcool:Quote:
Guh, that's going to take a lot of reading.
Ummm, time out a second. What was that stuff about the ritual involving blood on hands? Has anyone thought this might actually be a bad idea for Dies?
Or is his hand immune to blood damage? Can't remember.
I wonder how Dies becoming a chief will cause a civil war between son of the old chief and Thaco. But wait, I think the Goblin Party could saw Dies becoming chief but Kore comes in and ruin the ceremony.
unless that bird is somehow made of orb/key energy i dont think it will be a problem. And it's his organic hand thats tied to the rope anyways.
Klik is vulnerable to blood, when he spawned the green hand, it got rid of that weakness, but now its weak to a specific type of energy, though it hasnt been clearly identified yet, just that a few things emit it. That being said, I wouldnt be surprised if duvs new wing is infested with that energy, making for an interesting standoff between them where her wing can hurt his green parts.
This most recent comic is the first story twist in the comic that's had me genuinely interested in a long while. I was wondering what was going to happen with Dies' story following the dungeon, and I like this potential path.
I can't help but notice that the goblins are standing on the edge of a cliff...
And the ones who can't be made into Chiefs wouldn't be particularly useful to the Viper clan...
And that the Viper clan tends to dispose of people they consider useless...
And that shoving a few goblins they can't use off a cliff would serve as a powerful message to those that they can use. :smallamused:
