If you like THQ's Facebook page you get a copy of Metro 2033. It's kind of sad really, I mean I guess it is a promotion for the sequel, but it also seems like kind of a dying flailing.

It's literally free- https://www.facebook.com/MetroVideoG...95840630491782
you just like their page and you own metro
EDIT: CURSES, NINJA'D! Never again shall I open a page, write my post, and then go poop before hitting submit
And that humble bundle of theirs is also giving away quite a few games for less than 6$. Company of Heroes and its expacs are quality rts games.
How old are these games, though. I mean, yeah, Saints Row 3 on the bundle might be worrisome, but the rest of the games seem decently old. Putting them in a bundle like the Humble bundle seems like a decent way to get people to buy the games, something many wouldn't do otherwise.
Not sure about the free game for liking on facebook, though.
Red Faction was last year, Darksiders and Metro 2033 were two years before that, I'd call those recent and Saints Row 3 was this year. Company of Heroes was originally released in 2006 so it has been out awhile, but the expansions were more recent with Tales of Valor 3 years ago. The others were added after the bundle's inception and are relatively old, but overall it is not a good sign.
What's the dropoff in sales? Aren't the vast majority of sales on a given game made in the first couple weeks or months? A two or more year old game, unless on a subscription or in game purchase model, might very well not seem any significant money, if that's the case.
Things that confuse me: okay, I expect to have 5 snipers and 2 spies in a team of 9 in Harvest when only 10 seconds are left to capture the point. What I don't expect is to go on 2Fort and have zero snipers. Happened twice.
Also: my team controls the bridge in 2Fort. And I wait. And I wait. And no one tries to get the intelligence. Obviously this means the enemy intelligence room is full of level 3 sentries. But whatever, I'm bored since I can't snip anything (I'm sniper with machina, razorback, Tribalman's Shiv and Gibbus). So I go to room, which is completely empty, get the intelligence and almost get back to own room, if not an enemy scout with our intelligence kills my of the stairs in our own base.
By the way: is it a good idea to solo two heavies in melee with Tribalman's Shiv? I got surprisingly successful in melee with Shiv recently and I wonder if I got a bit too bold.
Well, unlike what haters sat, 2Fort is pretty bad sniper map...
Not as bad as completely broken ones like Steel, but still.
Doesn't that mean you can simply re-grab it in 10 seconds? :smallconfused:Quote:

And scouts can take tunnel or roof of bridge, I guess.
If only I get a hat every time I saw Sniper melee heavy to death... http://i.imgur.com/N2nfK.jpgQuote:

Yes, meleeing heavy or lev 3 sentry as Sniper is surprisingly viable, unless the other guy knows what he is doing.
Not really, but yeah, I meant Foundry. Also steel-themed >_<
Along with Granary, it's I think the worst Sniper map.
Eh, IMHO, Jarate is too. At least in pubs. Plus, it doesn't have:Quote:
It's easier if you dump the razorback for a jarate. The razorback is just a waste of a slot.
+200% Nerdrage :smallamused:
THQ probably dying. It's worth noting that a lot of what THQ actually did was incredibly dumb, even if they did have a talent for publishing games by good developers.
Hopefully when THQ dies, all the good developers will get snapped up. Maybe we can have a new Red Faction game that isn't awful!
Speaking of free games, Duke Nukem 3D is now free on GOG (offer ends in less than 48 hours from now). Go and get it !
Huh, the top contribution is $1,650.01 (I assume the 0.01 was to get above the guy who paid $1,650). Guess someone really likes THQ.
Also, awesome, SR3 and Dawn of War were two of those games I always meant to get, but never actually did (I do already have Titan Quest, but having a digital copy is cool too, I guess).
"You can't really hit anybody as a sniper if they're that close, unless you get your machete right out."
(One of the best frag vids I've ever seen, in case you were wondering about the link)
They haven't drank enough coffee yet. :smallwink:
EDIT: My god... It's... It's... FREE!

I am not sure how I feel about this....
It could end up good, but I dunno, not a fan?
It seems you can only sell crates, keys... and paint... and tags, tools, and parts.
since when did TF2 have so much junk in it?
The following is my uneducated guess, so please don't take this as gospel.
There's gonna be as many people uncrating goods as before, so there's not going to be any decrease in demand. There'll likely be a few immediate fluctuations in price as spare keys are bought up by people who would have otherwise used the store, but it should eventually fall back to a stable level. The difference is that now the people who sell keys will now have a safer way to sell them, and that all the money traded for keys is going to be going back into steam's system. I presume they've actually planned this quite carefully.
I don't think so, at least not in the long run. Many things being sold in the market can't be bought from the Store (strange parts, for example), and things like crate keys have been bought from the Store already. For example, it's cheaper to buy crate keys on the Steam Market, but I expect that will change. Econ 101 says that if nobody's buying keys from the Store, but people are still using keys, the number of keys in existence will go down. As a result, Market key prices will go up. Eventually, they'll raise higher than the Store's price for keys, and people will start buying from Mann Co. again.
Man, talking about the Store and the Market in the same post gets confusing fast.
Well, I think this might be relevant:
Well, this is inconvenient, at first it was 2 refined a key, then 2.5, now it is 3 refined a key. When the steam store kicks in, will it be impossible to trade refined for keys anymore?
