((Er... She's not shooting at him again yet...))
Oh...Duh...sorry. Let me edit.
EDIT: Done.
"I'm the worthless murderer who's going to hunt you down and make you wish you had killed me today." Reinholdt says, eyes flaring. Since the Inspector asked.
He doesn't make a move though.
Lellienth levels the crossbow at Thenadier's face, glaring at him.
"No, you're not... Salkin Jallil, valbyl ukt unboin!"
As soon as she finishes the sentence in drow, Thenadier should find himself paralyzed; the drowess is a cleric of Eilistraee, and it was a prayer to her goddess to hold him there, equivalent to a Hold Person spell, if that's helpful.
"I believe," Erin says, her voice cold enought at, were this a comic strip, icicles would be hanging from the word balloon, "that you seem to be quite mad, sir. Perhaps a discussion with Remnant about this matter might be in order."
Thenadier continues pointing the pistol at the madman who tried to kill him. Thenadier turns to the drowess and tells her, Listen! This one attacked me first! And now you attack me! Yes, I believe this should very well go to Remnant! That man is a psychopath! He needs to be imprisoned! Thenadier is not happy. He can't move his body so the gun stays pointed.
Reinholdt never once tried to kill him.
The worst part is the Inspector is probably right. He is crazy and should be loc-no. No. The whole point of changing was... gah.
Ignoring the pistol, foolishly perhaps, Reinholdt kicks out his leg to slam Thenadier in the shin and try to knock him over. :smallannoyed:
Lellienth frowns, though she can't really fault Reinholdt's actions, given that Thenadier isn't entirely frozen, and, assuming the inspector falls, keeps her now-poisoned crossbow aimed at him as he does.
"If his story's right, you're lying. If not, it'll come out. So why don't you just shut up and give all our ears a rest, dos waele dalharuk del natha nau Qu'ellar rothe?"
Dipsnig rides into the Den on Kullervo and immediately sees that a situation appears to be brewing. He dismounts and watches, preferring not to step in between pointed weapons.
Now Thenadier has completely frozen. Reinholdt's kick sends him falling to the floor like a statue.
((Ah! Dipsnig! At least Marciano isn't around.... :smalltongue:))
Reinholdt goes to stand and kick Thenadier's pistol away from him, while pulling out a generic bottle of anti-toxin and downing it. It doesn't do a good job curing poisons, but rather slows them down long enough to get real help. Course, things will still go faster if they find out exactly what was done.
Lellienth, assuming nothing interferes, goes to flip Thenadier over, and tie his hands behind him, in such a way that each of them ends up over the opposite shoulder blade. It may not be particularly standard, or at all comfortable, but it should keep him restrained quite well if he manages to break the spell, or when it wears off. She also tries to attach a rope to his neck, and tie it to the rope around his hands, so that if he tries to bend over if he ends up in a position to do so before this is cleared up he'll end up pulling them higher.
Erin, for her part, just looks on impassively...
...well, she's closed her eyes, crossed her arms, and sighed.
Does that count as impassive? :smalltongue:
"Oh, fer cryin' out loud, I go out for a drink and this happens!"
Thenadier is disarmed and he is tied up. :smalleek:
Reinholdt twirls a chair around to sit in it backwards and glare at the Inspector, keeping his pistol ready. He'll let Lellienth do the interrogating though. He's just ready to shoot the guy if he tries anything again.
Lellienth goes to squeeze Erin's shoulder comfortingly, before sitting down, concentrating intently on Thenadier.
"Olath Wenress, duul'sso ukt ooble', lu' sila aster dal ukta," the priestess says softly; assuming the prayer works, it should let the Inspector speak, and force him to be truthful, including saying he doesn't know if he doesn't, rather than temporizing. "Now... What's your name, and what were and are you doing here?"
Erin gives Lellienth a grateful smile. Then glowers at Thenadier.
Good cop, bad cop, hungry cop?
Damn...he couldn't spoil his cover...well....he had to do what was necessary. Thenadier fights the spell and eventually overcomes just a little bit. Using all his strength he bends the spell a little bit, using his jaw to bite off his tongue...:smallyuk: Couldn't talk if he didn't have a tongue! ((Attempted of course)) He might not be able to break the spell...
...Well, yes, that's possible. It did release his jaw and tongue, after. Lellienth didn't think he'd attempt anything that drastic, so she didn't think to include something to stop him from doing so.
"You are aware silence is as good as a confession in this situation, yes?" Reinholdt sees him struggling, but doesn't realize he's trying to chomp his own tongue off. He thinks the Inspector is just trying to keep quiet.
Not that I care much, but mind telling me what's going on and who the idiot on the ground is, Dipsnig asks as he strolls up to the scene with Kullervo following him.
Thenadier knows that silence is bad too...he has to do something! There...he knew what to do. His fake I.D. Great idea. The Inspector motions a little to the chair he was sitting at. His eyes are pointing there. On the chair is his I.D....his name is Barnabus Franklin, his picture is on the I.D. It's very well made and looks exactly like a real one. It says he's a tourist, here for a few weeks. Then is when he bites his own tongue off...he can always use a regeneration spell when needed....He couldn't let them know what he had done. He keeps his mouth closed as blood fills it inside. His eyes water in pain but he can't really move....His lips might seem a little redder than usual but he keeps the blood inside his mouth along with the large amount of severed tongue... :smallyuk:
Reinholdt heads over and snatches up the ID.
Excellent. Something the guy owns so he can curse him later. Name's probably a fake though. This guy really was going all out to not be truthful to the one cat who may very well be a king of lies.
But hey, the blood isn't noticed at least. Thenadier gets to choke in it all to death first.
"This guy attacked me." Is all the explanation he really feels bystanders need.
"As for who he is, that's what we're trying to find out. He's refusing to talk under a truth spell," Lellienth explains, shrugging, before turning her gaze back to Thenadier. "You do realize that it's pretty obvious that's fake, since you won't confirm what it says, right?"
Erin frowns at Thenadier.
Frowns.
"...I think he might be chewing..."
Well....the tongue is cut now. He can't talk....He's going to choke on the blood soon...well...he'd have to swallow the blood.... :smallyuk: He swallows most of the blood filling up his mouth. He avoids swallowing his tongue though...he might choke on it...a small drop of blood drips from his lip. Thenadier needs to escape....He had a plan. The roach could teleport him back to Halo. He'd do that. It would zap him away. The invisible mecha-roach climbs from the walls and eventually into his boot. If anyone could see invisibility they would just see another roach....nothing out of order.
When Thenadier bites his tongue off and begins bleeding, Kullervo smells the blood and snarls. Dipsnig leans over him.
And there seems to be a bit of blood on his lips as well.
"Dalharuk del natha errdegahr-quortek rothe mrimmd'ssinss...", Lellienth swears quietly, not at all liking what those two things point to. "Erin, can you get his mouth open? I'd do it, but I don't want to risk losing concentration on the spells..."
"Ugh. I don't have time for this. I need to go get help."
Reinholdt says, before firing his pistol at Thenadier's knee, rather nonchalantly. Keep the bastard from running anywhere. Or walking. Ever again until magically treated or something.
He won't notice the roach, but an invisible roach in such a classy establishment is somewhat out of order. :smalltongue:
Hit or miss, Rein turns to go. Needs to stop messing around with this and get to GLoG's infirmary.
Thenadier yelps in pain...but he still barely keeps his mouth shut...That was his already hurt leg...he would find Reinholdt after this...wherever he hid. Thenadier would find him. He would repay him. No one crippled The Inspector...no one but this man. He would die. Thenadier would return to HALO, regroup, and use the tracker to find him.....He would come. The mecha-roach activates a magical ward tied to HALO. The ward will most-likely work unless the drowess's magic is obscenely powerful and hinders teleportation. If the spell works he returns to HALO. Most l;ikely the gunfire would distract the drowess. Causing her spell to fail.
