Yep! I always kind of wonder what will happen if Elan ever runs into him again. That would be an interesting conversation, especially if other Order members are around...

Only on Meadwarts weekends . . . If a guardian has signed off on it.
Didn't you read the books?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Nale's build is a bad duplication of a bard. But only because Nale can't take any bard levels, since he is lawful.

He wouldn't take them even if he could--remember when he said that bards were underpowered back in strip #50?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
You see the... is it a wight? The one that wants mustache-man's shoes in the last panel, and gets them here? He's the same one that in this strip.
(I don't didn't know how to put the URL's in with words, so it goes in like this went in strangely, but was fixed because Kish taught me. Thank you, Kish)

Thank you, hopefully that is more readable now.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I never noticed the colours of the stars on the Goblin flag, here, had a precise meaning.
As a side note, I wonder if we'll ever see Bugbears in this comic...
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
I'm still wondering what the brown star is supposed to be.

In the crayon drawings, they are there. And some here.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Julios ship is named the Mechane. A mechane was the mechanism used to place actors (usually playing gods) on the stage from above in greek plays, and the origin of the latin phrase "deus ex machina".
A great reference and acknowledgement of the fact that Julios sudden appearance in the strip is indeed a deus ex machina to both make Elan semi-competent and get him to azure city quickly.
I don't think it means that his devoted fanbase has literally made Julio into a god, though :smalltongue:

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
One thing I never noticed was that V took on hir mates hairstyle immediatly after the battle with Xykon and has never parted with it yet.

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
Taking the Star Wars metaphors a bit further... look at this scene. The scene parallels a similar scene in Return of the Jedi, and not just because of the themal detonator bit either.
That is,
Malack is an albino, like Bib Fortuna.
Tarquin wears a T-shaped helm, like Boba Fett.
And the Empress is monstrously fat, like Jabba the Hutt.
Somehow I didn't catch this before, but I have now.

Elan is referring to Haley's... well, breasts when he says the "private time" line here: http://www.giantitp.com/comics/oots0675.html

In the most brutal fight ever Thog shouted "STOP TALKING!"
...
At Talky-man.
He was so angry he wanted to destroy the only thing that made Roy a real person to him...like woah.

How...how did you not notice that? That's the whole point of the statement. The entire crux of the entire scream.

That didn't occur to me either.

Nor I. Sort of poetic actually now that I notice it.

This is "Things I Never Noticed." The point is to come here, feeling silly that you didn't notice something, and admit "I can't believe I never noticed that."
Thou shalt not judge those brave enough to do so, for that is the entire point of the thread. :smalltongue:
-
Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
And while it is the entire point of the scream its not the only possible point of the scream. It could've been the much simpler "Thog's pissed". Its much deeper than that however. So :smallyuk:

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
It took me a couple read trhoughs before I noticed Durkon's Giant gold mug had W.W.T.D on it.

The title is "And It Will Never Work Again" -- as in, Elan's not going to coincidentally "trip over the main plot" again.
But he already did pretty much that once, after getting a level in Dashing Swordsman:

Cue speculation: is this an actual DS ability?

Re: Things you never noticed II: I never noticed the first thread
How did he trip over the main plot there? He was specifically heading to Azure City to get Nale before he could hurt any of the Order of the Stick. And that's exactly what he got. No accidents were involved.
