Aaaaand Ben is back.
Sans dreadnought.
...with beard.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Is Sally's final question to Ben or Obi-Wan?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
So Ben wasn't dead after all. That's good news.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Any bets on if Ben dropped out of Med school to go on a journey of self-discovery?

Yeah, that's the gist of what I'm getting as well. Apparently without even telling his sister.

EDIT: Actually, that is insufficient to express my jubiliation. This Link should prove Superior WARNING: MAY CONTAIN PONIES

Ben is back. No too big surprise. I want to kow what presents he brought, though. Will it involve violence? I sure hope so!

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
It's a little bizarre how Ben and the rest jump into the game so quickly after they haven't seen each other for so long. Shouldn't they be chatting up, hugging, and the like?
-
Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
His return was not totally unexpected, but still...
HOORAY!

I dunno, Jim, Pete, and the GM's reactions all seem pretty natural (if only because they're all variations of stereotypical 20something guy). Jim and the GM have been gaming friends with Ben for a long time now, and the understated "we kept your character sheet" welcome is about as heartwarming as you're going to get from them. And Pete has never really paid attention to things outside their direct connection to the game regardless.
Annie at least seems excited, and Sally is reacting as you'd expect a worried little sister to. Corey never met the guy so he doesn't count.

BEN !!!!!!!

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
I have to admit, I'm a bit disappointed. I was hoping Ben became a hippie or something after going on a journey of self-discovery.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
Who wanna bet that Ben will somehow become Correy's PnP RPG mentor? Teaching him the tricks and aleas of role-playing without a screen?

I'll take you up on that; however, I have one question: what are we betting anyways? :smalltongue:

Gold Pieces Republic Credits.

Hmmm... What embarrassing dare can we ask of each other...
I'd propose the loser has to write a slashfic about two character of the winner's choice.

What's a slashfic? I'm presuming it's a type of fanfic?

It's a fanfic that focuses on or features a romantic pairing not necessarily found in canon. The term comes from the practice of writing these pairings in the shorthand "character x/character y". Think "Bella/Jacob" or "Harry/Luna". There are also connotations of...adult themes associated with the term.
...I feel dirty.

Actually, I generally took the term slash fic to refer to male gay pairings specifically. Things like Harry/Draco or Spike/Xander if you like buffy the vampire slayer. Further backed up by terms like femslash to refer to lesbian pairings in stories.

Yhea... Nevermind. I think taking that bet with you would be a criminal offense.
Any idea what kind of dare we could bet?

It's the internet who cares? :smalltongue:
Also, I'd agree with him, I don't think Ben is right guy for that... He's not a bad gamer but Pete is better at power gaming, Annie is better at roleplaying and Jim is better at... other things. And Sally is the imaginative type...
Ben is... kind of the allrounder but Corey could learn just as well from the others.

Sally is better at imaginating stuff and world/character building.
Ben is good at, you know, ROLEplaying. He isn't an abuser. He understand when to argue with the GM, when to roll with the story. He get when you need to step down on your role to go with the team, and when you need to stick in character.
He's a level-headed experienced roleplayer. Plus... you know...
Obi-wan is the one who mentors Luke all movies long. Kinda makes sense that there'd be some sort of relation there.

Re: Darths And Droids 2: Should've Gone to Naboo
The current internet currency has shifted from silly cat pics to cute pony pics. You could use that.

Noone else could pull this off - it required technobabble, improvisation and fast-talking skills. He is not just avarage - he can combine all the elements of roleplaying to do things, that other would not think of.

Actually, I can see this happening. Later on, whenever Obi-wan's Force Ghost (or whatever you call it) appears in the game, it's actually Corey phoning Ben for advice.

That's 'cos the term originally comes from Kirk/Spock fanfic. I think it can be used generically these days for any pairing for, er, grown-up cuddling.
