Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I wonder what System does Books and Barbarians use?
1. 3.5 e
2. 4 e
3. Forgotten Realms
4. Greyhawk
5. Homebrew

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Does the system matter?
Story should come first after all.

Er, you do realize you've got two systems, two settings, and one that can be system, setting, or both, right? :smallconfused:

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Bright already answered that, though we talked about using system jokes then, it seems relevant enough in this case:

Even if I write in the confines of a game-world, I try not to worry about mechanics.

Ooh... A book prison...
I wonder what was kept imprisonned within?
Demon? Evil Wizard? Army of Pixies?
Unstoppable Force?
Now I'm even more curious as to what it is.
At first I thought it was their world's equivalent of the Necronomicon.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Nice job lil Orc, now the paladins are on her tail for assault, vandalism, and being a "monster" race.

It's a prison for the worst evil of the BaBverse - Trespassers who ignore the don't-step-on-the-grass sign! :smalleek:
*Dramatic lightning*
Or an army of pixies with unpaid parking tickets. That's quite heinous as well.

Gonna hope for somthing unexpected, somthing a bit like Buu or Discord, will settle for a dragon or a fallen angel, but knowing my genre savvy...
Five bucks says tentacles are involved. Suckers! I never specified what currency!
Also, silly humie, tryin' to scare an orc wiv' a book. :thog:

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Remember in Final Fantasy V in the Library of Ancients, where you had to fight Page 32, 64, 128, and 256? It's totally those guys. *nodnod*

"Unfortunately, my over-the-top theatric have only made you curious" How very perceptive of you, Mysterious Hooded Dude. If only you'd come to that conclusion a little bit earlier... :smalltongue:

Apologies for the late upload, got distracted.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
I have a sudden feeling this Highlord guy is incompetent.
It's probably the crystal studded throne and apparent inability to sit up straight...
Though I must say... I admire his choice of colour scheme.

Hey! Aren't they the same elves (or inhabitants) who laughed at an Kagra?
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Hmm... They could be...
It's a bit difficult to tell, because these guys are all trying to be really mysterious and all, and the other ones were just being mean.
So apart from them all being Elves and favouring the same kind of polearm, I can't see any other similarities...

How about the kingdom? I mean they wear the same uniform as the guards.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
It's similar, but not the same. It's also very similar to the armour worn by those paladins.
I could be wrong though.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
If Facemask Guy has really pointy teeth, I'm totally calling him the Mouth of Sauron.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Evil Elf sense tingling! They might be BandB equivalent of Thalmor (Skyrim) (I can't think of other hooded Evil Elf).

How about them dark elves from basically everywhere? More specifically from Warhammer though, due to a similar colour scheme.
Somehow I doubt they're related to the other elves though. That choice in décor is up to no good. :smallamused:
Also, Ditto on calling Facemask Guy The Mouth of Sauron.

Re: Of Books and Barbarians
No, it's not an early comic, but I was working on some more strips for my buffer when I decided to make this:
http://s19.postimage.org/cdt6yfzer/kagraproper.png
It uses my more standard templates rather than the OotSey ones I use for the comic, obviously. Just thought someone might get a kick out of it.
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Fanfiction writers! Abuse it!
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Now that's more like it. I know it's easier to build up a buffer by drawing OotS, but darn it do ever I like your templatey stuff.

She's kinda hot for an Orc. I hope some sick fan didn't ship her with the young paladin with bandana (the one investigating in the shop attack).
-
Re: Of Books and Barbarians
Much easier to build a buffer with OotS stuff, yeah. I can make about two or three OotS comics in the time it takes to pump out a single one of my normal styled ones. I could do it, yeah, but I'd worry that the art would come at the cost of missing updates and such. Plus, last time I changed the art in one of my comics to something more detailed it was very much in a transitionary state, and people seemed kinda put off by it. So while I've gotten better in that regard, I'd still kinda worry people would be bothered by the change again.
Oh well, it's still fun to make!

I think this is intentionally begging for someone to do it.
Fanfic writers? Anyone?

She's a librarian. It's like a class ability or a template, or however you want to rationalize it.
The point being, librarians always get a personality boost. It is trope law.

This is suspiciously specific. :smalltongue:
